Open the battery pack. Look at the orange wire. It is curved. When new, it was flat. Because this generation macbook pro 2007-2008 reaches up to 80C, the wire has bent. Take a piece of paper folded small and tape it to the orange wire. Try to get free kapton tape to do this. Close battery so pressure is applied.
sometimes what bugs me is that people download the dumbest crap or they will do stupid cap with there computer and then wonder why its not working (Not saying your doing that or anyone else im just saying ive noticed that alot.)
I have a similar problem with my mac pro notebook. There is something wrong with my trackpad I can move it around but I can't click on anything. Does anyone know how to fix this please send me a message!
I have the same problem and the same computer, I installed Snow leopard and Start having that problem, went to mac store and beacuse I m out of warranty they wnat to charge me 600 dollard a completly ripp off, how did u fix it?
ya its total bullshit that apple wont face up to there own mistake and that they have to be such basterds to charge there customers outrageous prices when it was there problem in the first place.
you don't want to mess with it. I suggest you bring it to the apple store or call the tol free number for the apple place so then they can help you on this stuff.
Buddy, i think this is a physical problem, while the keyboard or mother board is failing to respond in the same frequency and the driver gets unstable because cannot get a continuous response or something.
Do you think that installing Tiger may resolve the problem if it is a software issue? I have had a macbook before with Tiger and never went wrong, my friend has got a macbook with Leopard and it is still fine, she uses for over 6 months already, i bought a mb-pro 10 days ago and the keyboard and trackpad are completely dead...
i agree 100 per cent, im typing now with the virtual keyboard. i have tried all those things mentioned by 'bearxor' and it simply doesnt work. ill take it to apple tomorrow. i was playing need4speed carbon 4 mac and suddenly i've got a multilingual message 'u need 2 restart' , then good bye keyboard and trackpad of a 10 day old mbp 2.4.....
2 friends on mine got the same problem after installing Leopard. One of them some how, ended up taking the computer to the apple store to fix the machine because; he did something that made it stop working all together. It sucked for him because he was working on a after effects project. He didn't loose anything he just missed the deadline. There should be an update to fix the issue.
I've had this problem too. Not to mention the screen wipes with Japanese error messages, battery health dropping 50% in a week, no more passive scanning in Kismac, etc..
Leopard should still be in beta until after the 350MB+ update comes out.
Apple recently releases a software update to address this, but it did not work on the vast majority of the people having this problem. When I called Apple up to set up my repair, the tech told me that it was still being looked in to and that Apple had no idea what was causing the problem.
