The original version is EXCEEDINGLY perverted... sometimes I wonder what was going through Mozart's complex brain when he composed it. He was definitely not good with lyrics or letters.
Bona nox! 're a rechta Ochs; bona notte, liebe Lotte; bonne nuit, ugh, ugh; good night, good night, heut müßma far; good night, good night, scheiß to bed that 'kracht; good night, sleeping fei 'G'sund and Reck 'ass to mouth. is this the origanal texts meaning
Und nun für alle: Bona nox! bist a rechta Ox, bona notte, liebe Lotte; bonne nuit; pfui, pfui; good night, good night, heit müßma no weit; gute Nacht, gute Nacht, scheiß ins Bett, daß' kracht; gute Nacht, schlaf fei g'sund und reck' den Arsch zum Mund. KV 561, Wien 02.09.1788 Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Yes I know It's come from Mozart, but my question is for the style, I think Mozart writing like a Canon style. Anyway, I love this piece. Thank you very much Orion, appreciat.
I wonder if changing the text actually accomplishes much, since sooner or later, the boys will find out the true text meant by Mozart to be the "punch line". In this version, that is missing.
DAS IST DIE ZENSIERTE VERSION! :(

the translated 'punchline' is (according to Wikipedia):
Gute Nacht, gute Nacht,
Shit in the bed so it cracks;
Gute Nacht, sleep very well
And point the arse to the mouth.
I think only an Austrian/German would know how to shit a bed so hard it cracks.
kudos to you, Mozart, you dirty old bastard.

Also...der Originaltext von Mozart ist einfach nur genial!!! Und bei "homo" und "kastraten" hast Du wohl die letzte Zeile zu wörtlich genommen...

You know the original text by Mozart ?
I think it's a little bit pervers.I was shocked when I read it.
orion8352 3 years ago
Another famous boychoir sings the original text, but warns the audience beforehand. They always laugh very loudly when they hear the "punch line."
maestrovoci 3 years ago
Yes,I can imagine they are laughing,I wonder which choir it is,must be Tölzer ?
