I too think it goes a little extreme when people scruitinize every little thing in the trek universe. it is very hard when lots and lots of different writers work on it, especially if they haven't done their homework and watched much of the other treks. but even so people dont tend to create a piece of work to fit in, they want it to stand out. The new star trek movie is what got me into star trek to begin with. I loved it, but there were some major differences in this movie and the other movies/tos. The biggest continuity error, that wasn't in this video, was that fact that spock's mom died, and she was alive in the past. Or future, however you look at it.
