I was wondering is there a good solid way to build this bench without having the bottom stringers? I want to store things under the bench that are on rolling carts. Thanks Pat
@Belg1970 I've seen benches that double up the top stringer. Instead of 4 or 5 inches they made it 8 to 10 inches wide. It sort of works but not the same.
You will have a bench that will rack badly if you ever handplane on it.
Your best bet for a design like this will be to go to an original Roubo style bench with a very thick top (4" plus) and dovetail and tenon the legs into the top. Then use one very beefy stringer in the front through mortised into the legs, and use double stringers, also through mortised, on the back and sides.
You will need to oversize everything else to regain the lost strength.
@deezynar You're right about showing the final product. I was new to making videos at the time I shot it. My later videos do show the finished product. We had 8 benches done. That's the maximum students for this class. The benches all went home with the students.

They were looking mighty fine, I wish you'd have shown the finished benches. How many did you make total, and were they all for the school?
