This is actually about the seven voyages of Zheng He, where he visited many countries around the world for trade and giving gifts to other countries. He brought back many different things back to China, including animals including the ones shown here. The most popular one was, of course, the giraffe. In fact, I think they idolized the Giraffe as a sacred animal.
