  • Great job! Thank you for posting this how-to. I have Verizon FiOS and I had to hunt around to find the Port Forwarding section (actually it has to different types of Port Forwarding configuration settings), but I got it working and I am very pleased. Thanks again

  • I do not really anderstand the part of the router cuz I bell router and I don't know how to fix that

  • i did everything you said and it still wont work

  • great video.

one thing, use the ip address found in the command prompt:

    Start button

    (in search bar) type "cmd"

    enter

    type "ipconfig"

scroll up until you find the I Pv4 address

...i used this address and it worked for me.

there is also a downloadable program on the WYSE website which finds your device automatically (if you are on the same wi-fi connection) which also works.

not useful for the folks who want to access their computer from anywhere but it is very convenient.

  • What do you mean it doesn't matter??? lol everything on setting up technology matters lol... wrong port you used 3389 geez if you’re going to make an instructional video learn the right terminology and STOP saying "it doesn't matter" and "sorry"... yes port matter and No you cannot use just any port or a lot of ports... educate yourself!!!!

  • ty finly

  • I thought I could use this to have the same advantages my computer has to play flash games also I thought that maybe I could have the same components of a computer on my iPod such as flash java etc. Also I thought that maybe I can control some if that stuff without my computer having to do shit.... Like random opened Internet pages when I'm done.

  • I can't get this to work at all.... just keeps on coming up Could not Connect to server. I've tried opening the ports, tried everything you said, followed the steps precisely. Even installed the Wyse Pocketcloud Companion thing on Windows. :\

  • @MrJondread have you tried making sure your firewall is turned off, also one thing i didn't make entirely clear in the vid was the ip address you type in the router when you're forwarding the port to the specific computer, that ip address is the internal ip most likely will start with 192 or 10 or 172

  • Does the computer your using have to be turned on? Also will the actions I do change my pc or not?

  • @heywatchadoin1 the computer does have to be turned on and i'm not quite sure what you mean by "change my pc"

  • i cant get this to work. the RDP to port fail's and the

vnc to port is successful i tried the VNC and it fail's as well to communicate. phone replies "Session Disconnected" i tried with my local network and i tried with my 4g brod ban.

RDP i did the same and i cant get it to work...i exhausted every IP address and combo i cant get it to work i must of watched this video 6 times.

plz reply i wish to buy this program. and i cant get it to work..

  • @ventoruse in the other comments i go over one big issue that's the two ip addresses you will need for this process one is the external ip and the other is the internal ip this one will usually start with 192 or 10 or 172 the external one you can find through google but to find the internal one(this is the one that you forward the port to) you can find through cmd by doing an ipconfig

  • Did all the steps, doesn't work, IP is correct, have a firewall but if that's blocking I'm not sure how to open it (without allowing hackers to have a party).

  • is you have iphone 4 don't use that use iTeleport is realy easy to use 2 steps on you phone and 2 steps on you pc or mac y want one like that on android

  • hey man, good job with the explanations. I'm not a newbie to setting things up, and i have setup the connection from iphone 4 to the pc and its been recognized but when i try to connect them it keeps discounting and asking me to reconnect or exit. any clues what it coult be? thanx in advance

  • dude this was great.... you did what support could not do , , thanks a lottt!!

  • Nice job David... this video helped me a lot! :)

  • iv etried everything in the video and everything i can think of ....i have vista business and trying ot use with my sprint evo .....i keep getting the error "could not connect to server"...wtf?

  • i can open only UDP and TCP port, WTF ?

  • RDP port 3389 failed and cannot connect through phone, any suggestions?

  • hey drvdogs. I'm able to get the app to work using the proper credentials on Wifi, but i'm not able to get the remote desktop app to work on 3G. My router is already forwarding the ports to 3389 for rdp to my internal comp IP address (this setup works). I tried outside my network using my external IP and same ports and it didn't work. Any clue to what might be causing this? thanks in advance!

  • nevermind, got it to work using the auto-detect features for Pocketcloud :D Thanks for the tutorial!!!

  • Hey great tut, I have an Evo too so this was perfect for me. I keep getting "Logon failure: user account restriction. Possible reasons are blank password not allowed, logon hour restrictions, or a policy restriction has been enforced." Got any ideas?

  • @gotzJazzhandz

yeah man i got the exact same problem! HTC Desire

  • @gotzJazzhandz

actually i just sorved the problem! you have to set a password for your pc login, as it stated "...blank password not allowed....", i accidentally set a password and tried again then it worked!

  • @Seanpiano Yes thank you. after a few hours i eventually got it

  • @meluhneh No prob thanks for watching!

  • CMD gives me an ip with 192. but whatismyip gives me an ip beginning with 67. which one shud i use? i really wanna use it but not working for me!

  • @iknight8 Well CMD will give you your specific computer IP which is what you would need to use in your router settings. Your EXTERNAL IP is what you need to put on your phone in the box that says host address. You can find your External IP by just Googleing my external IP

  • i did everything BUT it just keep saying Could Not Connect to Server! :( any idea?

i have a netgear router. thanx

  • @iknight8 Maybe your firewall is up if not then maybe you put in the wrong IP's

  • so do you think you can shoot me an email so i can show you what mine looks ike ... mine still not working

  • is your sound working my settings will not stay. says no sound Device. Mytouch Slide

  • yea i removed cuz they were repeats lol ... hit my email and i can take a pic and send to you ... g1apps79 gmail ... its kina like yours but not if that makes sense and there is not the option to put in ip that i looked up on google like u were saying but only an option to put 3 numbers after the 192. .... that u said to put in???????? im off you tube for now ...email me pls

  • Thanks for the tutorial. Tried this but keep getting the "could not connect to server" error. Any idea where I went wrong? Thanks

  • @joshbaker17 No prob did you try turning your firewall on the computer you're trying to access off? Is it still giving you that when you do?

  • how about with a vonage router..lol

  • @565Customz it just says local port enable with the local address to the router. i have no where to type in my external address.

  • @565Customz The local address to the router would be the place to type the external ip address

  • @drvlogs I'm useing a iPod touch and yea it is wyse cloud browse

  • @pyroblaze151 Well then.. You're gonna have to send me a screen shot of the window that's coming up or better yet make a video of your problem and post it as a video response to this video so I can help you further
