  • HELPPP why cant it find the drivers?

  • @TrillasAdventures Did you use the CD or the online installer? If it can't find the drivers you can manually browse to them: C:\Program Files (x86)\TI Education\TI Connect\64bitDrivers

  • @DrSandeepluthra i initially used the CD, but i deleted everything and tried from the online installer and didn't open ti connect until the calculator was plugged in and it installed the drivers automatically, idk some random glitch but it all worked out in the end thanks!

  • after looking on the internet to fix my driver problem, (which was connecting the calculator before installing TI connect) your video was the only one that help. Thank you for the A. ;]

  • what song did you play at the end?? its really nice

  • thanks man! I couldnt get it working with the fail installation cd, after following this it worked =D

  • hi,

i have a ti 89 titanium, but i don't have the original usb cable which came from, i'm using another usb from my cellphone.

when i connect the ti89T to my pc, i can't hear the sound of hardware detection and the ti is not recognised.

do u know if it depends from the not original cable i'm using ? (it's a usb-miniusb like the original)

The strange thing is that if i connect the cable to the pc, and the ti89 is powered off, it turns on!! but the pc cannot detect it.

    any idea how to solve?

  • @pdcane As long as the USB cable from your cell phone carries data, it shouldn't be a problem. (I.e. it's not just a power cable) It turning on is normal when connecting a cable to the USB port. I'd try to scan for hardware changes in the device manager. If that doesn't work, I'd try another computer. If the other computer doesn't work, I'd try a different cable. I've used it with multiple cables. It's called a USB A to USB Type Mini-B

  • @DrSandeepluthra

ok.i really now don't understand why it's not working.i'm really pissed!.

    Let me explain:

i tried connecting the ti89 in total to 3 pc.

    A) windows 7 x64 with 4gb ram and so on...

    B) windows 7 x86 with 2gb ram

    C) windows xp x86 with 2 gb ram (notebook)

Assuming all usb working, because tried with my phone.

In case of A,B (windows 7) when i connect the ti into usb port, nothing happens. It not even trigs the new hardware (it does not detect the new hardware)

    {{continue}}......

  • .......{{continue}}

in case C it trigs and it WORKS!!

So i'm really pissed because i really don't know why in windows 7s it doesn't work, but in xp it does! And tried all of existing versions of 7 (32bit and 64bit) .... I don't know what to do. :D

I think i'm gonna complain a little bit with texas instrument...

anyway this is really really weird.....

  • @pdcane That's very strange. Do other USB devices work with the Windows 7 Computers? Windows 7 doesn't seem to be the issue as you can see from above. What brand/model are your computers? If you want, I can help you troubleshoot the issue over TeamViewer.

  • thanks, worked!

  • hi, i followed the steps... it worked.... but then i upgraded the os ..... and now the connect program does not find my device.... its weird .... i tried reinstalling the program.... it works with ti-84 but my ti-89 does not... could u plz help?

  • @fromAtheism2Religion When you check the device manager, does it show up with an exclamation point next to it? Upgrading the OS may require you to reinstall the drivers.

  • @DrSandeepluthra nope no sign of any device..... my calc just dead to the computer :' (

  • @fromAtheism2Religion In the device manager, hit scan for new hardware. Also, if possible, plug it into a different computer to rule out the computer as the problem. If it doesn't work in a another computer, most likely the USB port is dead on the calculator.

  • @DrSandeepluthra thanx a lot bro.... i tried with another computer and it worked there..... actually i think the os upgrade was unfinished..... so i took off all the batteries (including the backup) and then reinstalled the batteries and os 3.1....... now its working both in my laptop and desktop.... thank you

  • @fromAtheism2Religion Congrats. Glad to hear it's working.

  • Awesome! Thanks very much.

  • Worked beautifully, thanks!

  • Worked beautifully, thanks!

  • thank you it works perfectly

  • Thanks for the instructions. Worked perfectly for me.

  • thank you so much man i love you no homo.... wait yes homo man i love you

  • It didn't work for me... I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the driver and the TI Connect, but Windows 7 64 can't find the right driver for the Ti 89 Titanium. Can you help?

  • @shinyegg After you install, you can manually search to C:\Program Files (x86)\TI Education\TI Connect\64bitDrivers

  • @DrSandeepluthra i dont have tht file

  • @Gamer19975 Make sure you download the installer from the website . Do not use the CD included with your calculator. Also, when you install, check to see where it's installing. You may have your programs being installed on a separate drive/partition.

  • What if my computer is not able to download any drivers? It did not find any, but I do have the choice to search for it manually. Could I find the drive on the CD somewhere or online?

  • @EZrasfadia Did you install the software first? If so, it should automatically find the drivers. You absolutely need to use the latest version as it has the 64 bit drivers. The CDs they ship with come with the 32 bit version for XP. After you install, you can manually search to C:\Program Files (x86)\TI Education\TI Connect\64bitDrivers

  • @DrSandeepluthra Yeah, the problem was me downloading the software from the CD instead of directly from their website. I reinstalled it the way you did it, and it worked fine. Thank you though, for replying

  • Thank you sooooooooooooomuch

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

    IT FINALLY WORKS SUCCESSFULLY

  • I must have plugged it in before installing TI Connect, because after uninstalling, re-installing, THEN plugging in, it worked fine. Thanks for the guide <3

  • Thanks!

  • thanks

  • now I can finally save notes on my calculator and cheat on tests

    thanks! :D:D:D

  • @123qwerty Yep. The wonders of notefolio ha.

  • OMGGGG!!!! YOU ARE A GENIOUSSSS!!!!!! ITS BEEN TWO WEEKS THAT I AM TRYING TO DO IT AND YOU SAVED ME!!! THANNKKK YOUUUU!!!!!

  • @misslaly1710 No problem, Miss Laly.

  • Woot! TYTY! I have the disc, but couldn't get the install to work. Great video! You sound just like Steven Wright! All praise to Bob Almighty, who found this video on my behalf ;)

  • @Runs1729 Thanks ha.

  • It's funny, I couldn't figure out why the hell my driver wouldn't install correctly. Then I watched you go to the TI download section and realized that like an idiot, I installed the Ti Connect (from 2005) off of the disk, instead of downloading the new one for 64 bit systems. ><

  • @Spectre426 Glad to hear things worked out.

  • Thank you so much, could not find out how to do this til i watched your video

    thanks again!

  • @RileyLuck No problem ;)

  • now it says that it cannot find the driver?

i installed it through my CD properly like you did it but wont show

    help plz???

  • @LuisKing150 I said repeatedly to not use the CD as it does not have the new drivers for Windows 7 64 bit. They are only available online I believe. Follow the instructions in the video please.

  • why does it say

    cannot establush a valid connection.

please verify that the cable is connected properly and thge communitcation settings are correct?

  • What happens when Windows 7 detects the calculator, but cannot locate the driver online? Because that's what my computer is doing, and I cannot find the driver anywhere on my own. x_x

  • @Silkyroad12 If you install TI Connect, it should automatically find the driver. If it's not able to automatically find it, select to manually install a driver from a specific location (advanced), go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\TI Education\TI Connect\64bitDrivers" and hit next.

  • @DrSandeepluthra Ugh, it appears I do not have the 64bitDrivers thingamajig. Well, that's odd. Thanks for the help though.

  • @Silkyroad12 As soon as you install TI Connect like the video above, the drivers will be installed in the folder I mentioned earlier. You can manually tell the computer to look for the drivers in that folder.

  • @DrSandeepluthra That could be the problem... I installed TI Connect from the disc that was given with the calculator. I'll have to download it online I suppose.

  • @Silkyroad12 That is the problem. When I bought my calc, there were no 64 bit drivers nor was Windows 7 or Vista out. You have to get TI Connect online with the latest drivers.

  • what about windows 7 x86 (64-bit)? i've googled for hours searching for a way around the driver issues. i've disabled drivers at boot, tried Tilp (freeware) all with no avail. also, wtf TI? do you want me to hate you?

  • @xlovenuggetx Lol one reason might be there is no such thing as Window 7 x86 (64 bit). Window 7 x86 means Windows 7 32 bit. I believe the steps are basically the same for the 32 bit version of Windows. Is your 89 Titanium detected?
