Just do director_panic_forever 0 it will disable the infinite mob.

It's the Console,options -> Enable Developer Console then open it by ' or ~ ,if it does not work then go to Steam -> Left 4 Dead > Properties -> Launch Options -> console then go in-game and type bind key toggleconsole in the console
