  • Reminds me sort of an irish man...

  • northern minnesota accent...

  • @iloveladygaga4ev Not really

  • WTF WE DON'T TALK LIKE A MOFO FARMER!

  • @frannyjenna321 Hey, what's wrong with farmers? Geeze.

  • Its a Northern Minnesota Accent...

  • @Silverstratus01 Yeah... guess so. I'm from the city. lol

  • Yeah we do not talk like that at all!

  • We have the exact same accent here in canada lmao

  • canadian accent

  • Hm, I really don't think that we Minnesotans talk like that at all :o

  • WE DONT TALK LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm living in Japan right now, but sometimes my teacher tells me to talk in a Minnesotan accent. xD

  • Northern Minnesota accent...

  • fuck you we dont talk like that you frinking dumbass get screwed !!!

  • what the fuck thats not how we talk!! dumbass screw you!!!

  • we Minnesotans are the shit!

  • I moved to Colorado this summer after living in minnesota for most of my life and I'm actually starting to realize how much of an accent I have...

  • No one sounds like that! Almost sounds Scottish. I'm from the cities though so I don't know maybe.

  • WE DONT EVER SAY ''Oh Ya You Betcha'' ! never. ever. ever. they act like its all we say. like really. ive never said ''dontcha know''

  • @RandumKidzProduction

The accent has nothing to do with those phrases, it's the way you pronounce your "o'"s and "i's" compared to the rest of the country

  • ya ya

  • I am from minnesota we really dont have accents but minnesota is by far the best of all of the states

  • @iluvskillet4evaxoxo

so all of the other 49 states save North Dakota and Northern Wisconsin have accents?

  • dontcha knoo what im tawlkin abuut

  • 0:22 House and Accent.

  • LMAO very good. spot on!!! i knew folks from from MN and you sounded just like them!!!

  • i have lived studied English in MN since OCT, 2010

I can't say that their accent is not understandable but I hate when they talk so fast

I feel like come on god damn it I can't get anything from you lol

  • I'm from Minnesota, too. I notice my accent sometimes, usually with the 'o's. I totally lost it in the second half of this. Haha! I hope people don't think that's actually the way we speak. But it's sooo funny.

  • LOL, there is a slight accent. Obviously if you're from Minnesota you can't hear it. I'm from New York, and can hear the slight variation even before you did it on purpose. That sort of accent is just accentuating what people already hear, to mock it. You guys don't ACTUALLY sound like the fake version, just like most NYers don't sound like mobsters.

  • @usamuun

I'm from New York too- New Yorkers sound more like Woody Allen than they do Mobsters, even those that arent' Jewish

  • @ohso41 I'm IN New York and there are more New Yorkers who sound like mobsters than Woody Allen.. Except me i'm orginally from Upstate lol

  • @Superwoman2012

People over the age of 70 yes- but younger folks no way- Even the Italians nowadays have more of the Woody Allen thing going on.

  • @ohso41 Yes younger people have it too.. not as heavy but they have it.. not all of them of course but a good amount of them do.. i hear them

  • We rip people's faces off and wear them as ornaments just like in Fargo.

  • I live in Minnesota and I think you kinda have an accent hahah but you're attempt at an actual accent is actually spot on!! My uncle talks just like that Hahahah

  • I am from minnesota and I dont see an accent..

  • You sound like my best friends dad haha ;))

  • first of all minnesotans dont say eehh were not fucking canadian and second you will not find one minnesotan than says ya sure you betcha under the age of sixty five, and ya we eat lutafisk and spam and play hockey up i in this cold mother fucker

  • Go Wild!

  • We are the Minnesotan's and we are going to whip up some lutifisk.

  • us minnesotans do not talk like that... sounds like a southern accent to me.. :)

  • i hate when people try our accent then start talking about farming and fall into a southern accent, for god sakes we dont farm as much talk about hockey or fishing

  • @MNHockey26 We farm a lot. Around northwestern MN, shit load of farms. Hunting and fishing too, obviously. lol.

  • Your hand looks big.

  • One of my college professors is from Minnesota and she has an accent like this. At first, I thought she was from Canada.

  • Psh....

We don't hayve ayccents in Minnesoooota.

  • I live in minnesota too. go vikings

  • all american accents sound the same to me but again in from new zealand btw go the all blacks

  • i didnt even know we HAD an accent . but according to a ton of other people .. we do ? Haaa .

  • This is so awesome! Go Minnesotans!

  • It's funny cause you sound like a swede speaking english. It aint too surprising though that the minnesota accent would sound something like a swedish accent since most settlers in minnesota wwere from scandinavia.

  • Yeah but Wisconsin weather is the coldest

  • @HardKore5250 haha not true. international falls always sets the coldest record

  • For real? Damn!

  • For real? Damn! Whats International Falls?

  • lol cool! Minnesota accents sound like Canada accents

  • lol cool!

  • Yeah,, be proud of that accent. If defines you... nothing wrong with that...

Did you ever notice,, the the Minnestoa accent and Alberta Canada accent are about the same? When ever I'm out there sound you all live in the same province..

Great bunch of peopel on both sides of the border.!

  • AHAHAHA ive always lived in minnesota and the "minnesota twist" is AWESOME (:

  • da bears..

  • when he first started to talked 0;00-;0-24 thats a minnesota accent

  • its funny becasue im from minnesota so i cant tell the difference

  • say bag!

  • go wild!

  • Nice accent!

  • NOW i can here the Minnesotan part... I grew up there, in Minneapolis. But I usually hear this accent out of the city like down in Albert Lea. In Minneapolis, I don't hear this accent much. :P

  • Comment removed

  • We Minnesotans have accents? I dont hear it.

  • @MNwild1992

    yes,

you have thick accents compared to the rest of the country (even compared to the rest of the midwest)

  • @MNwild1992 yeah, the media has kinda stereotyped us Minnesotans... Eh?

  • @MNwild1992 ohhh don'cha now youve got accents ehh?!!

  • @MNwild1992 oh yeah

  • @MNwild1992 i dont hear it either

  • MINNESOTA FTW!!! LIVED HERE ALL MY LIFE!!! CONFLICTING WEATHER FTW!!!! AWESOME ACCENTS LIKE CANADIANS FTW!!!!! VIKINGS... uhh

  • I live in Minnesota too lol, And your accent is much heavier then mine, but I think as I'm getting older my accent is getting a bit heavier haha.

  • I grew up in Minnesota, and I don't hear an accent.. lol then i lived in alaska. they both sound the same.. =]

  • @theawesomegirl123456

Minnesota and Alaska have completely different accents. To an untrained ear they may sound alike

  • @ohso41 my ear is trained fine. you don't know me, how would you know?

  • @theawesomegirl123456

I'm just saying that The Minnesota accent is completely different than what you would hear in Alaska. If you're thinking of Sarah Palin- her accent is in fact very similar to the Minnesota accent and that's because where she grew up in Alaska happenned to be where alot of transplants from Minnesota settled, however most people from Alaska sound nothing like her.

  • @ohso41 I'm not thinking about her, I'm thinking about people who were around the same area as me.. And I was talking about the city because I grew up In Minneapolis. I have family in Albert Lea. They have the accent down there. I can hear the difference. I was just talking about the city.

  • ugh, that accent is soo annoyingg

    but yours isn't that strong.

  • LMFAO!!!! i live in minnesota and my friends give me crap for how i talk! oh yeah ya betcha!

  • Just put me a floridian with my family on the iron range and bam my ranger accecnt

  • minnesota rulez go vikes , waterskippin , packes go kill yo self ftw

  • WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THAT GUY!! to me he just sounds like an old creepy pervert from MN

  • haha yes, i was born in raised in west michigan and i immediately picked up the midwest accent. I think ppl are retarded when they say each midwest state is supposed to sound differently, I mean of course there are certain words ppl chose to say differently depending on family/friends say them, when ur around it, u just pick up on it. But basically it SOUNDS THE SAME, just like southern accents sound the same, "true" NY accents, the same..etc etc. btw. you have a sexy voice ;)

  • @brunette623

I guess that means ALL THE LINGUISTS are WRONG and you're RIght???

so accents from Kansas sound the same as accents from Minnesota? I don't think so. And yes, Kansas is a midwestern state not a southern state and people from Kansas DO have a MIDWESTERN accent

  • @ohso41, for one, I know kansas is a midwestern state,NOT a southern state. Also, didn't I just say Midwest accents sound the same???! So considering Kansas is categorized as a Midwest State, they BASICALLY sound like all midwesterns, and I have friends that live there so I know what they sound like. We could go on and on with this debate but when it comes down to it, opinions are like assholes, everybodys got one. Have a nice day!

  • Second accent sounds like a really thick Michigan UP accent.

  • Sounds like a thick Michigan accent.

  • RED FLAG. Possible 'white terrorist' attack in Minnesota. Northern white state. They closed the state government and sent the employees home. Maybe to plant explosives. False flag. Illuminati.

  • thick thick accent

  • minnesota rules

  • @TheJMaNv2 shut the fuck up dip shit

  • yeah you have an accent. the guy I like is from Minnesota and has an accent as well but I love it on him. just diff. strokes for diff. folks I guess

  • Most of us minnesotans don't really have that last accent it's just the ones who are from Norway or our parents have an accent like that

  • Minnesotans do not sound like that last part.

  • he sounds like Marshall Ericson's parents

  • i live in the great state of minnesota and i dont think we have an accent

  • @yankfan13bam

Maybe compared to other MInnesotans you don't have an accent but compared to the rest of the country (and I don't mean the south or the North East) YOU DO- very strong accents!

  • I who live in minnesota (granted its the southern part) know no one who talks like that except way up north by canada and some of my Norwegian relatives. I don't know where the exaggerated version of the regular minnesotan accent came from.

  • haha i live in minnesota and my neighbor sounds a bit like that! i don't talk like that though, atleast I don't think i do.

  • @boopbooppssh

You might be surprised- to outsiders, EVERYONE in Minnesota sounds like that

  • People from the far North sound like they are Swedish and Norwegian, Hurdy Gurdy

  • I live in Sweden but i love the Minnesota accent because it have many swedish word in it who our ancestors brought with them :))

  • Barbeque the pecans. LOVE IT!

  • People from Minnesota - we say d's a lot of times in the place of t's. Say "Minnesota" "water" "putter" etc.

  • @abdi5501boone yes I live here and I hear it only because I was born u

  • I live in MN...minnesotans have accents?..whatttt?

  • @abdi5501boone

very strong accents too compared with the rest of the country.

  • His accent sounded like a Jamaican Pirate from Minnesota.

  • We don't sound like that it sounds like you have peanut butter stuck to the top of ur damn mouth

  • The only accent I'm aware of Minnesotans having is we talk fast. I guess we gotta talk fast so we can run back inside of the cabin before it get's cold lol

  • @Pemnan

Minnesotans have very strong accents compared to the rest of the country. Only North Dakota The U.P of Michigan and most of Wisconsin have a similar accent , the rest of the country sounds competely different. I betcha people from Kansas City or even central Iowa sound ""southern " to you, and that's because the Minnesota accent is so extreme. In reality folks from Kansas City have the most neutral "newscasters" accents in the midwest.

  • @ohso41 Yep, ive heard that about the kansas city accent before. I know people from central Illinois and they do honestly sound like southerners to me lol. Like you said, that goes to show the Upper Midwest accent.

  • it took me a few moments XD

  • ...Can you type out that whole thing that you said with the Minnesota twist? I occasionally catch myself saying something in a -thick- Minnesotan accent and tend to make fun of my self by following it up with "ah craep..." But it'd be fun to steal your monologue and go on a tyrade with it. X3

  • thumbs up for minnesota

  • I didn't hear an accent...maybe cuz I'm from Minnesota

  • @kksr1017 same

  • thats not a minnesota accent i live here my entire life and i never hearda a hillbilly voice before

  • i have lived in Minnesota my entire life. i know for a fact, us Minnesotans don't talk like Leprachons. you make us sound like retards...that is not what we sound like at all, not even Canadians speak like that. Thats ridiculous........

  • I stopped talkin like this once i moved down south into southern minnesota...i used to live in bemidji

  • Roof

  • I don't hear an accent... Oh wait, I'm from Minnesota too. :D

  • I love your twist! And i hate sterotypes!

  • We don't have an accent..everyone else does :)

  • Ya I was born and raised in Minnesota. I have never heard that accent. According to Chicago though we say bag wrong and it is supposed to have a short a instead of a long a. Everything else just sounds normal besides the heavy heavy weird leprechaun accent...

  • I have lived in minnesota my whole life and have never heard an accent like that but maybe its becuase im used to it! But I dont think we sound like that at all maybe in canada

  • haha ya kno we don tak like dat yaya

  • for anyone who think MN kids reallly talk like that; fuck you.

I in mn; and im as close to canada as you can get in mn.

    NOBODY HERE TALKS LIKE THAT!!!

only if you cross the border..

  • where is pancakes house?? jeez im goin crazy out there at the lake

  • They do have accents O_o

  • ummmm... i'm an mn kid but WHOA

  • I'm from minnesota but I've lived all over. I lived longest in minnesota but I never noticed an accent beyond the odd deeper voice tone.

  • Ja ja.. greetings from Norway to your beautiful state, hope to visit Minnesota sometime during my life.

  • lived in Minnesota my whole life.

    And Minnesota accents are cool.

    Minnesota rocks!!!

  • Minnesota Wild hockey for the win

  • I just sit back an laugh at the ignorance of some of these comments. It's really quite entertaining... Get a sense of humor, people.

And let me say for the millionth time... I was born, and raised in Minnesota. I have lived here for my entire life.

  • @foach i agree with you 100 percent i to was born and raised in minnesota and still live here

  • K look man, i grew up 600 miles below the canadian border, drove all throgh Minnesota and not herd a single person speak like that, mmkay?

  • @krstnaterry

if that's the case, then why is it every time I visit the Twin Cities I hear local people in their 20's and 30's who were born and bred in The Twin Cities and their suburbs who sound exactly like this. I didn't hear what I would consider an neutral midwest accent until I hit Central Iowa and Kansas City

  • @ohso41 I was born and raised in the Twin Cities and we dont talk like that. You only find this exaggerated dialect in rural areas and sometimes not even there. People in Minneapolis and St. Paul sound almost exactly like people from Des Moines and Iowa City. Of course theres some differences but an outsider would never know.

  • @saintpatricksmilitia I agree completely. I'm from the suburbs of the Twin Cities and to me I don't think I have the MN accent; I sound just like many TV reporters in my opinion. I think the accent is better heard in the rural parts of MN, but even so, it's not always so easy to tell that there is even an accent.

  • @musicholickgp

I've been to Minneapolis and the suburbs many times- And yes I've heard very thick accents- even from people in their late teens and 20's. If you want to hear a "TV Reporter" accent- go to Indianapolis or Kansas City- that's where you will find the most neutral accents.

  • @saintpatricksmilitia

I was just in Minneapolis and Des Moines last summer- big difference in the accent- Minneapolis has one and Des Moines sounded more neutral - similar to Kansas City

  • fuck this guy has he even been to mn fuck him i live in mn

  • lol this is super funny!

  • For the honor of Minnesota, this man must die!

  • gotta love us Minnesotans :) represent!

  • That was some funny stuff, i am from Boston and we speak the same - although your pronunciation of "roof" was unusual. IN this area the oo is longer.

  • the most accurate accents can be seen in drop dead gorgeous.

  • to bad the wild suck this year :(

  • HA! I Have peoplee from my school with an accent like thatt! && I live in the Metro Areaaa. Haaa.

  • He sounds Canadian lol don't you just love living in the land of a thousand lakes

  • LMAO most of us don't talk like this! LMAO

  • Say: "I have a car so my girlfriend will want to bone me cuz I have a car so she will want to bone me"

    Hehehe

  • my family is from Minnesota and they have a thicker accent Rosa MN

  • you could say boat

  • Uhhh yeah most people from minnesota do not actually talk like that....

people who try to imitate what they think minnesotas so called accents are stupid and look like idiots trying...

Minnesotans have small accents occasionally, yes, but definitely NOT that strong... one person who talks weird isn't all of Minnesota, just saying...

  • Yeah most of that's pretty exaggerated lol, but some of the expressions and slang still exist.

I still catch myself saying 'you betcha'. lol

  • I am from Minnesota, and I only hear like my grandpa's friends who are farmers talk like that.

  • sounds more like a yooper accent

  • I've been in minnesota my while life and never have been aware of a accent

  • @POWERBUT

If you think that people from Kansas have a "southern accent' then yes you do have an accent-

and Minnesota accents are very strong compared to the rest of the country.

  • Okay i have a pretty thick minnesota accent but i hate how actors from fargo and crap over do it... :/

  • there is no way I sound like that...haha o_O

  • I am watching something on the history channel about the Minneapolis Bridge collapse- unless they deliberately transplanted everyone from northern Minnesota- EVERYONE they're interviewing has THICK MINNESOTA ACCENTS!!!

  • i <3 livin in MN...i hope i dont' sound like that...IDK!

  • I know this married couple, both from the Twin Cities area, but HE is from the suburbs of St Paul and sounds very Wisscaaaaansin, and SHE is from Crystal and soands lehk this, doncha noh.

  • Minnesota is the best state :)

  • I definitly do NOT sound like that lmao xD

  • Yup, I'm from Minnesota, And I don't sound like that. :)

  • yup your from Minnesota!! you speak like me!!
