Very nice to see the youth appreciating good music. I'm 28 and sadly didn't discover the Kinks outside of the hits until I was about 25. Better late than never I guess!
Great catch, you lucky lass! One comment only - Ray has developed a more interesting voice over these recent years, and I'd like to hear others ideas about it. Can't quite put my finger on it (maturity, experience, wear & tear?). Have a go & let me know...
thanks! yes, I very much agree that Ray's voice has actually improved over the years. I think it is probably a combination of both experience and Ray putting in the effort to become a better and stronger singer over the years. I would say the same for Dave's voice as well.
Yes, I'd agree on Ray. He's gained nuance and sounds calmer (I wonder if that is partly the result of getting shot?). Not having heard Dave's voice since the stroke, I cannot say much on his. I have heard his latest efforts have surprised many. Tough lot, those Davies brothers!
wow the set list changed quite a bit the next night in asbury park!!! you guys got some real lost classics....we got lola the next night!!!! thanks so much for sharing these beauts!!!!

Wow! What a rarity! Did you get him performing the acoustic version of "Where have all the good times gone"?

Well props for that! I was fantasizing that he would play Johnny Thunder in Providence. Can't believe he actually did it.
