if you are translating word by word then Shi no Kami literally means God of Death, where Shi means death, 'no' means 'of' and 'kami' means god. but you get the big picture.
@The8Marius It doesn't, Byakuya does something even beastlier, he grabs ahold of the blade petals, using the augmented speed of his Bankai when directed by his hands to massivley increase his own punch's power and punches a hole straight through Tsukishima's body, an attack he would have no memory of ever using or fighting like, even Tsukushima say's he marvels that Byakuya could possibly stoop to fight like that before he collapses with a hole through his chest.
@The8Marius What's even more awesome is that Tsukushima spent forever proving each and everything Byakuya would do with his abilities would be impossible to win with, and then mistakenly assumed that Byakuya would try Kido, and started bragging it would never work, and that's when Byakuya just brutally punches his fist straight through Tsukushima's body.
yamamoto, aizen, unohana, kyoraku, and ukitake are the strongest of the shinigami, not counting ichigo or aizen's transformations, their battle data states this at bleach wiki
@kmorebetter4U Don't 4get Urahara and Isshin, Isshin is moronicly more powerful in the strength department, while Urahara is more adept at battle and able to use more powerful skills.
1-Yamamoto 2- Aizen 3- Urahara 4- Shunsui 5- Yoruichi 6- Byakuya 7- Kenpachi, 8- Ukitake 9- Mayuri 10- Hitsugaya. I'm not counting Ichigo because he's not a pure shinigami having vaizard powers and later becoming something else. Aizen on my list is his strenght as a shinigami... Later he becomes something else... I didn't include Unohana either because we don't know much about her so far... I'm sure she's good but I'm going with what I've seen so far and that's my list! :P

The creator of Bleach has actually said Kenpachi could wreck most of the other captains. He's faster than Soi Fon even when she's using flash cry, (physically) stronger than Yamamoto, and gifted with an insight the others do not possess. Also, yes. Yamamoto is actually the most powerful of the captains. HIs physical strength is just slightly below Kenpachi, he is capable of using every single kido spell with zero incantation and no power loss. Not to mention Ryuujin Jakka. Strongest zanpakuto.

As for Yamamoto weaker than Kenpachi,nonsense . their are 4 categories that should be counted.Shinigami,Espada,Strongest,Smartest.Best shinigami is Yama.Best espada was Ulquiorra.Strongest ever was Ichigo.Smartest goes hand down to Urahara.cant count Ichigo or Aizen as shinigami because of the fact that their part hollows,and hands down Urahara is smarter then Aizen,Aizen said it himself.

@Drako377 Retarded Byayuka fanboy alert.Bayukya's Bankai is hardly that much stronger than any Bankai in the Gotei 13 . Shunsui,Utitake and Unohana who are the oldest captains in the soul society could stomp Byayukya and most captains with just shikai. Soifon trained herself to fight with just shikai and only use bankai as a last resort and her shikai's so overpowered it might as well be a bankai and Kenpachi has been shown to easily fight on par with Byaukya.
@EvanDude345rv5 actually my favorite is toshirou O.o but either way, yes Shunsui Ukitake and Unohana have been around longer, unohana's sword heals, Ukitake's reflects attacks, such as a cero, not a bunch of shards of swords, and Shunsui's is a game, but let me ask you this, with Shunsui's, whats more likely to cut a color, a sword, or a fragment too small to see? even a scratch can cause him to feel like he was impaled, or his arm or w/e was cut off. think about it. :)
@EvanDude345rv5 as for Soifon, yeah, her shikai is ridic, but its also extremely short range, and she has to use shunpo, flash step, to get in range, which most people are at least adequite with shunpo in order to avoid that. and as far as Kenpachi, yes he is shown to fight on PAR with Byakuya, like in the hueco mundo, however pure raw strength, is not going to beat someone that can move faster and can slice Kenpachi to ribbons from far away.

@mastamage293 She's just the second highest ranked soul reaper in the databook excluding Aizen who ties with Yamamoto . Aizen was scared to fight Unohana while at the same time trolling virtually all other captains and she's said to be even stronger than Shunshi and Ukitake by their own admission.
@D3vour3r4s I think really the only captain that would hands down no doubt beat Byakuya is Yama-jii. If you compare their respective defeats by Ichigo Kenpachi was taken down w/out bankai. The only chance for Ichigo to defeat Byakuya was after he achieved Bankai. Aizen doesn't count, w/out the Hogyoku he wouldn't be nearly as strong as he was.
Byakuya Kuchiki......am i the only one who feels like he deserves a storyarc all to himself. It could be about the Kuchiki clan's rise to the top of the 4 noble families! Awesome!
i need 2-3 basic naruto characters vs a bleach villian, except naruto sasuke hinata. jounin and chunnin in the leaf or suna. Don't care if he is more powerful them all of them combined i need a good battle stallment.
Great video, although I would choose some other scenes. In those episodes, I hated Byakuya with all my heart :P I started to love him after his past was shown. I guess I have a thing for sad, tragic past heroes?

I would not say slightly stronger, most of the dammage done to byakuya was inflicted by the hollow and he was still able to protect rukia against gin, I mean he survived gin's stab and ichigo just fell down. I think he said that ichigo won because he was able to survive the final attack.
A great AMV needs to be able to be understood without prior knowledge of the anime. What I mean is.. If someone that has never seen Bleach watched this, they would be like.. "wtf is going on?"
For someone to get the same chills you do. You need to start off more direct and less dramatized. Try playing some of his audio like a witty saying that he says before attacking in the scenes. Otherwise, the viewer has no attachment to the character. They just see some guy teleporting around.

@EvanDude345rv5 Yeah I agree the eldest Captains are the strongest. But I don't know what you consider losing, but Ichigo couldn't continue and Byakuya was still walking. I don't care what Byakuya said it matters whos last standing in any type of fight. Sure Ichigo gave him a great fight but lets face it hes the Series main character how could he not?

@EvanDude345rv5 Byakuya will almost always be stronger than Ichigo, even with Ichigo's power boosts. When Ichigo was about to gain Bankai and had beaten Renji, Byakuya slaughtered Renji. When Ichigo won, it was Byakuya who was able to walk away. When Ichigo defeated Grimmjow after much difficulty, Byakyuya easily beat Zommari. When Ichigo beat Ulquiorra's 2nd form, Byakuya teamed up with Kenpachi and beat Yammy, the 0 Espada. Only Ichigo's most recent power-up is an exception. But not for long.
@EphaunEnforcer Well the first isn't even a fair comparsion.Byayukya already had bankai whereas Ichigo only had shikai,give Ichigo bankai and he would of just as easily crubstomped Renji like Byaukya did, especially given Ichigo' with bankai was able to force byauykya into using senkei.
@EphaunEnforcer Second Zomamri was a pansy,a chicken weakiling who was now where near as powerful as Grimmjow,that's why Byayukya crubstomped him.Zommari released had no real offensive power and his speed was subpar at best. Grimmjow created sonicbooms in just pre released form and easily blocked Ichigo's bankai barehanded which was enough to cut Byaukya just touching it during there battle whears Bayukya rapestomed Zomamri with bankai and really killed him with a sealed sword.

@EvanDude345rv5 fyi, I only made that first comparison to show the difference between Byakuya and Ichigo initially and how even after Obtaining his Bankai, Byakuya still walked away in better shape. 2nd, even if Zommaris abilities overall are pathetic, he basically relies on one ability. Whereas none of the stronger Espada are that stupid. He is still the 7th Espada though. If he was completely useless he'd be below #10, or a Priveron Espada.
@EvanDude345rv5 Also you seem to be implying that Byakuya hasn't gotten any stronger at all from the time he fought Ichigo to the time Ichigo fought Grimmjow, which would be incorrect. He may not of got any new abilities, but he has gotten stronger. One of the few captains to do so. Also, Yammy;s first release form is pointless. In that first form, he is #10 in strength, not #0. And Kenpachi's strength is equivalent to Byakuya's, as he too, has gotten stronger.
@EphaunEnforcer Also about the eyepatch thing, it just seems to have been a cheap trick by the author in Kenpachi's first fight to explain his sudden power up. Kenpachi hasn't used it since, even when he could of died against Nnoitra. Which would make absolutely no sense, as when he recognized Ichigo as strong, he released his eyepatch.

@EvanDude345rv5 and I agree. Byakuya in terms of strength, is roughly equal to Ichigo. Same with Kenpachi. I think Byakuya is mainly stronger than him because of his abilities as a Shinigami, which ultimately is why he walked away from a fight against Ichigo in better form. And he has to get stronger, because he needs to protect Rukia, and Rukia hangs around Ichigo, the main character, who of course has the powerful opponents after him. So Byakuya sorta makes up for Rukia's lack of strength.

Also Rukia isn't weak,she killed the 9th esapda although she nearly died in the process but that's at least noteworthy given she's only a unseated officer,the only one's stronger than Rukia are of course the captains who are just monsters in power to begin with,i'm sure once she learns and masters Bankai,she can play with the big boys.

@EvanDude345rv5 yes I meant Yammy's initial form was #10, whereas his release, was #0. and Kenpachi did get stronger after his fight with NNoitra. He actually got noticeably thinner too. But I don't see why he didn't use his eyepatch in either fight. Personally I think the author thinks too much of trying to be dramatic in fights and forgets about the power scale of things sometimes. Like how Aizen cut down like half the captains at once.

@EvanDude345rv5 Well Kenpachi nearly died against Nnoitra, so that made him somewhat stronger. Also Kenpachi and Byakuya teamed up by competing with each other. Which given Byakuya's kido abilities and Kenpachi's raw power makes them a strong duo. I reckon their strength at the time of versing Yammy was about that of the #2 Espada, which Ichigo's strength would of been around after beating Ulquiorra and getting his new mask.

I mean how on earth are they gonna catch up if Ichigo regains the power he beat Aizen with and he's fighting people who could give him trouble even then? @EphaunEnforcer In addition to this, a lot of the strongest captains have yet to use their Bankai. Which would explain why they haven't been used yet. Though to be quite honest, I don't see why none of them used their Bankai, considering how strong Aizen was going to be. I mean Yama had been countered, but the rest that we hadn't seen could of used them.

@EvanDude345rv5@EvanDude345rv5 As far as Byakuya's power level went from about Grimmjow's or Nnoiitra's to about that of the second espada, I have no idea. It's just one of those inconsistencies I think. Also I don't think the group helping Ichigo will be enemies for long at all if ever. I think it's just there to help lead us into Aizen's return and Aizen's take over of Division 0.
@EphaunEnforcer I can bet you though. If Ichigo gets all his power back, then due to the timeskip, Byakuya and Kenpachi will have become just as powerful as Ichigo had been prior to the timeskip, maybe even moreso. and Hitsugaya will beat another opponent that was thought to be way out of his league, like he did with the 3rd Espada.

And they haven't really gone into Division 0 yet either, who are probably some of the strongest Shinigami yet and considering they didn't help the gotei 13 in the war I say they will be enemies.The fullbringers are just there to help Ichigo get his powers back, which is probably what Aizen wants.

Aizen probably 'just as planned' that they would intervene and try to accomplish whatever it is they're really aiming for, which just ends up helping Aizen indirectly. And I don't think all of Society is under an evil dictatorship or something like that. Kubo probably couldn't come up with something that original for Bleach.
@EvanDude345rv5 I reckon the King's realm arc is just going to be a rinse and repeat of what we've already seen. Another 10 or 13 enemies that are all about the strength Ichigo was, aka the 0 Division. Then we'll have all the captains we didn't see plus a few other captains take them down before Aizen can kill the King, preventing Soul Society from being destroyed/ruined somehow.
@EvanDude345rv5 I didn't hear about it. But there has been a lot of fan speculation about it. I mean the King's realm and Hell are the only two places left that haven't been explored or gone into depth. And it's said there's only 2 arcs left of Bleach, supposedly Kubo said it himself.
@EphaunEnforcer and if that's true, then either Hell or the King's realm are most likely going to be the place for the next arc. And seeing as how Aizen intended to go to King's realm, for whatever unknown reason, then it makes most sense if the final arc took place there. And one way Kubo could probably make use of Hell, is if that's where the prison Aizen is or was in is. Which would kinda explain why we wouldn't of gone there before.

In bleach there really isn't characters who are the strongest or the most weak since there are different kind of battles. Yamamoto is deffinetly the most powerful but his power limits him. Ichigo is also a powerful character but for example someone like mayuri could beat him in my opinion because ichigo can't really fight poison. Every character has his/her strenghts and weaknesses.

if you are translating word by word then Shi no Kami literally means God of Death, where Shi means death, 'no' means 'of' and 'kami' means god. but you get the big picture.

@The8Marius It doesn't, Byakuya does something even beastlier, he grabs ahold of the blade petals, using the augmented speed of his Bankai when directed by his hands to massivley increase his own punch's power and punches a hole straight through Tsukishima's body, an attack he would have no memory of ever using or fighting like, even Tsukushima say's he marvels that Byakuya could possibly stoop to fight like that before he collapses with a hole through his chest.

@The8Marius What's even more awesome is that Tsukushima spent forever proving each and everything Byakuya would do with his abilities would be impossible to win with, and then mistakenly assumed that Byakuya would try Kido, and started bragging it would never work, and that's when Byakuya just brutally punches his fist straight through Tsukushima's body.

1-Yamamoto 2- Aizen 3- Urahara 4- Shunsui 5- Yoruichi 6- Byakuya 7- Kenpachi, 8- Ukitake 9- Mayuri 10- Hitsugaya. I'm not counting Ichigo because he's not a pure shinigami having vaizard powers and later becoming something else. Aizen on my list is his strenght as a shinigami... Later he becomes something else... I didn't include Unohana either because we don't know much about her so far... I'm sure she's good but I'm going with what I've seen so far and that's my list! :P

The creator of Bleach has actually said Kenpachi could wreck most of the other captains. He's faster than Soi Fon even when she's using flash cry, (physically) stronger than Yamamoto, and gifted with an insight the others do not possess. Also, yes. Yamamoto is actually the most powerful of the captains. HIs physical strength is just slightly below Kenpachi, he is capable of using every single kido spell with zero incantation and no power loss. Not to mention Ryuujin Jakka. Strongest zanpakuto.

@Drako377 Retarded Byayuka fanboy alert.Bayukya's Bankai is hardly that much stronger than any Bankai in the Gotei 13 . Shunsui,Utitake and Unohana who are the oldest captains in the soul society could stomp Byayukya and most captains with just shikai. Soifon trained herself to fight with just shikai and only use bankai as a last resort and her shikai's so overpowered it might as well be a bankai and Kenpachi has been shown to easily fight on par with Byaukya.

@EvanDude345rv5 actually my favorite is toshirou O.o but either way, yes Shunsui Ukitake and Unohana have been around longer, unohana's sword heals, Ukitake's reflects attacks, such as a cero, not a bunch of shards of swords, and Shunsui's is a game, but let me ask you this, with Shunsui's, whats more likely to cut a color, a sword, or a fragment too small to see? even a scratch can cause him to feel like he was impaled, or his arm or w/e was cut off. think about it. :)

@EvanDude345rv5 as for Soifon, yeah, her shikai is ridic, but its also extremely short range, and she has to use shunpo, flash step, to get in range, which most people are at least adequite with shunpo in order to avoid that. and as far as Kenpachi, yes he is shown to fight on PAR with Byakuya, like in the hueco mundo, however pure raw strength, is not going to beat someone that can move faster and can slice Kenpachi to ribbons from far away.

@D3vour3r4s I think really the only captain that would hands down no doubt beat Byakuya is Yama-jii. If you compare their respective defeats by Ichigo Kenpachi was taken down w/out bankai. The only chance for Ichigo to defeat Byakuya was after he achieved Bankai. Aizen doesn't count, w/out the Hogyoku he wouldn't be nearly as strong as he was.

I would not say slightly stronger, most of the dammage done to byakuya was inflicted by the hollow and he was still able to protect rukia against gin, I mean he survived gin's stab and ichigo just fell down. I think he said that ichigo won because he was able to survive the final attack.

A great AMV needs to be able to be understood without prior knowledge of the anime. What I mean is.. If someone that has never seen Bleach watched this, they would be like.. "wtf is going on?"
For someone to get the same chills you do. You need to start off more direct and less dramatized. Try playing some of his audio like a witty saying that he says before attacking in the scenes. Otherwise, the viewer has no attachment to the character. They just see some guy teleporting around.

@EvanDude345rv5 Byakuya will almost always be stronger than Ichigo, even with Ichigo's power boosts. When Ichigo was about to gain Bankai and had beaten Renji, Byakuya slaughtered Renji. When Ichigo won, it was Byakuya who was able to walk away. When Ichigo defeated Grimmjow after much difficulty, Byakyuya easily beat Zommari. When Ichigo beat Ulquiorra's 2nd form, Byakuya teamed up with Kenpachi and beat Yammy, the 0 Espada. Only Ichigo's most recent power-up is an exception. But not for long.

@EphaunEnforcer Second Zomamri was a pansy,a chicken weakiling who was now where near as powerful as Grimmjow,that's why Byayukya crubstomped him.Zommari released had no real offensive power and his speed was subpar at best. Grimmjow created sonicbooms in just pre released form and easily blocked Ichigo's bankai barehanded which was enough to cut Byaukya just touching it during there battle whears Bayukya rapestomed Zomamri with bankai and really killed him with a sealed sword.

@EvanDude345rv5 fyi, I only made that first comparison to show the difference between Byakuya and Ichigo initially and how even after Obtaining his Bankai, Byakuya still walked away in better shape. 2nd, even if Zommaris abilities overall are pathetic, he basically relies on one ability. Whereas none of the stronger Espada are that stupid. He is still the 7th Espada though. If he was completely useless he'd be below #10, or a Priveron Espada.

He may not of got any new abilities, but he has gotten stronger. One of the few captains to do so. Also, Yammy;s first release form is pointless. In that first form, he is #10 in strength, not #0. And Kenpachi's strength is equivalent to Byakuya's, as he too, has gotten stronger.

Kenpachi hasn't used it since, even when he could of died against Nnoitra. Which would make absolutely no sense, as when he recognized Ichigo as strong, he released his eyepatch.

I think Byakuya is mainly stronger than him because of his abilities as a Shinigami, which ultimately is why he walked away from a fight against Ichigo in better form. And he has to get stronger, because he needs to protect Rukia, and Rukia hangs around Ichigo, the main character, who of course has the powerful opponents after him. So Byakuya sorta makes up for Rukia's lack of strength.

But I don't see why he didn't use his eyepatch in either fight. Personally I think the author thinks too much of trying to be dramatic in fights and forgets about the power scale of things sometimes. Like how Aizen cut down like half the captains at once.

@EvanDude345rv5 Well Kenpachi nearly died against Nnoitra, so that made him somewhat stronger. Also Kenpachi and Byakuya teamed up by competing with each other. Which given Byakuya's kido abilities and Kenpachi's raw power makes them a strong duo. I reckon their strength at the time of versing Yammy was about that of the #2 Espada, which Ichigo's strength would of been around after beating Ulquiorra and getting his new mask.

Also they foguht each other,not teamed up to fight him,hell they we're spending half the battle arguing over who kills Yammy and arrogantly boastering over who's better. kenpachi just did a light cut to cut yammy's legs and Byaukya just raped him with Hado 33.

@EvanDude345rv5 Well yeah, Kenpachi gets all the cool fights. Byakuya just gets clean-up duty lol. Also about Rukia, I do believe she will obtain Bankai during the time skip. But I don't think it will be enough to cause her to really catch up. Same with the rest of Ichigo's friends. I mean how on earth are they gonna catch up if Ichigo regains the power he beat Aizen with and he's fighting people who could give him trouble even then? Which they would have to else it would be boring.

@EphaunEnforcer In addition to this, a lot of the strongest captains have yet to use their Bankai. Which would explain why they haven't been used yet. Though to be quite honest, I don't see why none of them used their Bankai, considering how strong Aizen was going to be. I mean Yama had been countered, but the rest that we hadn't seen could of used them.

@EphaunEnforcer Agreed Aizen was uber powerful yet we havne't seen Shunsh,Uitake,Unohana ,Yorucihi,Kisuke,Isshin Shinji and Yamamoto's bankais yet.Each of these guys makes even Kenpachi and Bayukya look like pussies yet we haven't seen them use it yet, What the fuck are they waiting for to use it?FAILbrigners,hah there not even 7th seat levcel much less Shintachio level

@EvanDude345rv5 @EvanDude345rv5 As far as Byakuya's power level went from about Grimmjow's or Nnoiitra's to about that of the second espada, I have no idea. It's just one of those inconsistencies I think. Also I don't think the group helping Ichigo will be enemies for long at all if ever. I think it's just there to help lead us into Aizen's return and Aizen's take over of Division 0.

@EphaunEnforcer I can bet you though. If Ichigo gets all his power back, then due to the timeskip, Byakuya and Kenpachi will have become just as powerful as Ichigo had been prior to the timeskip, maybe even moreso. and Hitsugaya will beat another opponent that was thought to be way out of his league, like he did with the 3rd Espada.

@EphaunEnforcer well he techincally never defeated the 3rd espada,Aizen did and she was still overpowering him in direct brute strentgh,Hitsugaya only held his own due to her water element vs his ice element.he barely got by by the skin on his teeth. yeah Bayukya and Kenpachi are boun to get strogner.

@EvanDude345rv5 Well they could kill Aizen. But it'd probably be hard to make a villain thats more overpowered than Aizen. Plus Aizen hasn't used Bankai yet. And they haven't really gone into Division 0 yet either, who are probably some of the strongest Shinigami yet and considering they didn't help the gotei 13 in the war I say they will be enemies.The fullbringers are just there to help Ichigo get his powers back, which is probably what Aizen wants.

@EvanDude345rv5 well the fullbringers probably aren't working for Aizen. Aizen probably 'just as planned' that they would intervene and try to accomplish whatever it is they're really aiming for, which just ends up helping Aizen indirectly. And I don't think all of Society is under an evil dictatorship or something like that. Kubo probably couldn't come up with something that original for Bleach.

@EvanDude345rv5 I reckon the King's realm arc is just going to be a rinse and repeat of what we've already seen. Another 10 or 13 enemies that are all about the strength Ichigo was, aka the 0 Division. Then we'll have all the captains we didn't see plus a few other captains take them down before Aizen can kill the King, preventing Soul Society from being destroyed/ruined somehow.

@EvanDude345rv5 I didn't hear about it. But there has been a lot of fan speculation about it. I mean the King's realm and Hell are the only two places left that haven't been explored or gone into depth. And it's said there's only 2 arcs left of Bleach, supposedly Kubo said it himself.

@EphaunEnforcer and if that's true, then either Hell or the King's realm are most likely going to be the place for the next arc. And seeing as how Aizen intended to go to King's realm, for whatever unknown reason, then it makes most sense if the final arc took place there. And one way Kubo could probably make use of Hell, is if that's where the prison Aizen is or was in is. Which would kinda explain why we wouldn't of gone there before.

@EphaunEnforcer Yeah the only cool fights he had aside from Ichigo was in filler,the best being Koga vs Byayukya.now that was a fight.Yeah me too,Rukia woul at most be renji's level.As for the arc,the current arc sucks as well as these FAILbrigners,i miss Rukia and all the soul reapers.

@EphaunEnforcer He deserves to be,when you're killed with a sealed sword of a captain's instead of a bankai and when your release form is lamer than the lamest farrcion,you don't deserve Espada level status ,hell Doronoi would of made a much better 7th than Zommari.None of Zommari's powers would work on even a Vice Captain,Rangiku and Renji could of stomped Zommari,he's THAT weak.

@EphaunEnforcer Also he came out in better shape because Zomamri vs BYayukya was enitrely one sided whereas Grimmjow actually pushed Ichigo to his limits.Byayukya would of had a much tougher time against Grimmjow, especially with Grimmjow's release form speed being so insanely high. And i seirously doubt he can walk out in any better shape fighting grimmjow than Ichigo did.

@OmegaCalibur bearing in mind two things 1. how long ago this video was posted ergo how little we knew about the other captains 2. it's a tribute to him so it was designed to show him in the best possible light and the title simply emulates this...but you are right Aizen and Yamamoto are clearly stronger and Kyourako is also fecking strong but still of all the captains Byakuya is my favourite...just the way he remains so composed, he'd like a god...a death god if you will :P

In bleach there really isn't characters who are the strongest or the most weak since there are different kind of battles. Yamamoto is deffinetly the most powerful but his power limits him. Ichigo is also a powerful character but for example someone like mayuri could beat him in my opinion because ichigo can't really fight poison. Every character has his/her strenghts and weaknesses.
