It has to be in order to compensate for factors of time, which there is not much of, and enormous amount of information entertaining public awareness from so many sources. Basically it is a lot of groups shouting slogans at one another. Environment where logic and knowledge prevail, and language and communication die.

Honestly, I'd love to see the statistics on how many call outs to bomb squads actually end up being genuine terrorist threats...probably less than 1%.

The US criminal system is a for-profit enterprise! The prison-industrial complex gets 38k pr/year for every prisoner- directly from the pockets of the tax payers- plus certain corporations get slave labor from the prisoners, paying them 13cents pr/day. The study comes from the ACLU, which should raise eye brows upon hearing the name. Second, I agree that it is stupid for a kid to go to jail for this, but tough on crime sentences do work in some cases. Singapore has way harsher laws than the US but a lower crime rate, hmmm. If tough on crime legislation is so bad, than why do blue states have the highest crime rate ?

Arizona and New Mexico are border states so a lot of their crime is due to the drug war that is going in Northern Mexico and high levels of Illegal immigration "no not all illegal aliens are criminals". The most dangerous part in Louisiana is New Orleans, which is a liberal city, though Katrina and poverty are big factors. The same is true with Miami in Florida. Nevada is home to sin city, so it is kind of hard to have a city built on gambling and prostitution not to have a high crime rate.

Conservative states "Texas" are called red states while liberal states "California" are called blue states. Also back in the 1950's communists or people who were in correctly labeled communist because of their left wing beliefs were called "red's" in reference to the use of the color red on communist flags "USSR,China,Vietnam".

You never here Utah being called a "blue state" because blue is asociated with the democratic party, which is on the left of the political spectrum.
