there was no boom, besides a part of the plane going past the sound barrier. If it did break the sound barrier it would have been 10x louder. unless you turned the clips sound down then ok
@yoyoyoyoshua Might have been the equipment used at the time. When you edit these pieces together you have the option of increasing the decible level and I may not have done that. Thanks for the comment.
This is Point Mugu...I remember this i was there. I have a nice picture of it just as it gets close to the speed of sound. The pilot that day was Mark Stukey-(spelling).
@frindelong Um...no. A sonic boom comes from the buildup of pressure waves due to the motion of the airplane moving faster than the speed of sound. In subsonic flight, these waves simply move in all directions like ripples in a pond. However, when an airplane goes supersonic, these waves compress since the body creating them is moving faster than they are. These shockwaves look like high-pressure cones, and when they hit you, you hear the sound. That's as easily as it can be explained.
@bass4thewin True but also did you know a clean f 16c blk 52 can make a sonic boom at m 0.97. i have a link to a vid of a viper east pilot talk about it.
@TECKNETlUM That's very interesting, and I believe you...when an airplane's in the transonic regime (~M 0.75-M 1.2), there are some parts of airflow over the airframe that are supersonic, and some that aren't, due to Bernoulli's Principle which states that fluid motion speeds up as it is constricted.

@bass4thewin exactly.

Breaking sound barrier is just releasing the jet fuel and burning it with the jet fire causing it to make a sonic boom like a explosion.

@frindelong I would love to know where you got your information.

@frindelong do u know what the sound barrier is??? lmao...

I am surprised the pilot doesn't mix up what joystick he is supposed to be using! LOL!! Amazing machines!

is not a sound barrier break but only an effect of moisty air..

@pietromalaguti yup... our slow ass hornets do it all the time with tanks and AIM-9s early in the morning.

Those clouds start forming below the speed of sound. I didn't hear a sonic boom.

@MrDeathrider1 The Vandy 1 is in the UK, she was a target drone, so now she is in pieces on the UK
