I know people struggle with this concept, but Britney IS singing Born To Make You Happy live here - and was in the concert. The backing tape-support kicked in as soon as Lucky did.
She sounds very close and very good here, but you can still hear the subtle differences if you listen. The most obvious being on the line "('Cause you're the only one up in my heart) I was born to make you happy". On the recorded version she doesn't sing along with the back-up singers. But live, she sometimes does...

actually, this video of her rehearsing is her lipping. lol and all of her slow songs on the dream within a dream tour is lipped. she'll do the occassional "yeeeeyeahhh ooooOOoo" that's a bout it.
It's so crazy how the sound in this is so different than a full packed arena whereas in this one, it's empty. That's why they use backing vocals, so you can hear everything because that many bodies just absorb sound.
I went to the soundcheck of her Dream tour when she came to Houston. Thats about it. I have a small crappy video of that. She sang Mystic Man. Maybe I will look for that vid and post it.

she IS singing..but not like meaning it..u can hear her voice in the background..her mics volume is waay lower than the playback volume.. and shes not trying to sound good..thats why she looks so relaxed....

sum of it is playback but you can still hear her voice she has even admitted that she uses pre recorded tracks because of the dancing she does and she wants to entertain the people she said she knows her voice will go out of key that's why she has help at least she is not denying this stuff and besides i won't be able to speak is i have to do one of her performances let alone sing..

I've never been able to go to see her live.I'm hoping to see her live in March when when she comes to Kansas city Mo.You know every video I watch on Britney Spears People keep talking about her lipskining .I could never till in the videos. How can you tell if someone is lipsinking?And I agree I think it helps to have a backup track cause singing all them songs they can take allot out ya.People can be so mean.

It's really poetic. For sure she's got a thing with music boxes.
And yeah, seems like it's lip sinc, but does that mean she can't sing?: no. She actually can sing, but for some reason it is chosen that she lips sincs. It's too bad, but well, they privilege the dancing over the singing... so...
Look for Kylie Minogue, she sings (so well!) but she doesn't really dance, not the tummy part anyway, that would get her out of breath, like Brit. Anyway, Brit thinks she's not a great singer... :(

actually, this video of her rehearsing is her lipping. lol and all of her slow songs on the dream within a dream tour is lipped. she'll do the occassional "yeeeeyeahhh ooooOOoo" that's a bout it.

It's so crazy how the sound in this is so different than a full packed arena whereas in this one, it's empty. That's why they use backing vocals, so you can hear everything because that many bodies just absorb sound.

why does she sing live in rehearsals and then lipsynch at the shows?? That doesn't make sense to me... I'd do it the other way around.

Her mic is always on and she has a choice of singing along with the track in both rehearsals and live shows.
From what I know, she does sing live along with the track for this part of the show even during the Las Vegas special.
The broadcaster, however, has a choice of broadcasting her live voice at a much lowered volume than the track's.

watch oops i did it again rehearsal. it's completely live with even no backing track. i think she somehow changed it halfway through the rehearsals, maybe. i find it odd too that she sings live at the rehearsals and not at the shows

her mic is on (you can hear her thrust her head and breathe hard after "oh my love") so she is singing but her vocals drowned out by the track...as usual.
