@Sam1sThere im a mechanic,and yes it puts more strain on the driveline and engine/gearbox mounts,however cars built for abuse will handle it better than stock cars.probably get away with it for a while but if you like changing clutch's or paying for them to be replaced by all means go for it.
does powershifting hit redline and how fast do you have to shift so your engine dont get fucked up with too high of RPM? cuz when i tried it and my rpm went VVROOOOOOMMM!!!! and i got scared.

@22dimethylhexane push straight forward it wont go back to first if you go forward. the stick goes back to middle as soon as its out of 2nd. i wouldnt worry much about going in 1st just dont push to the left or right just forward. to go in fifth push up and right hard. quickest ways to shift into the gears people have trouble with.

@josepanchosolis Wrong. powershifting you still use the clutch. You cannot, I repeat, CAN NOT, shift a helical cut gearbox without the clutch at WOT. The gears pull themselves together and you cannot overcome the force of the engine and gears. Straight cut gears can be done much easier.
@josepanchosolis alright asshole i went thro a few forums about the topic what i came up with, 90% of the people out there believe that powershifting is when you keep the gas pedal all the way down and only tapping the clutch to shift used for drag racing, the other 10% say that you can powershift with out touching the clutch at all IF you have a tranni built specifically for that. if you DONT have a face plated tranni and try it clutchless your going to FUCK UP your transmission
@ARMYmos18B No idea what a "face plated tranni" is, nor do I care. Bottom line, you aren't going to clutchless shift a helical cut gearbox. With a straight cut dog box, you can clutchless shift to your hearts content, but that is one noisy transmission, and you ALWAYS have to shift it fast, because it is not a synchronized transmission and you'll grind gears if you shift slow.

@afr126 you want to pull the gearstick like you would if you pulled it out of gear but just so hard that it doesnt come out. Then while applying that force tap the clutch. and cut your gearbos lifespan in half
@tj306notch Try suspension upgrades, ive seen bone stock mustangs run 12's with just suspension. You can have the most powerful car ever, but if you dont hook, its not going to be fast. I think they sell kits for drag racing online.

@GrantEvanGriffith Cheap upgrades to run 12's, DiabloSport Predator, Bullitt cold air intake kit, with JPC tune on 93 octane, should run 13.10 on stock tires. With aggressive driving, ive seen 12.90.Just UPR Drag Launch Springs by Eibach and M/T Drag radials should run 12.90, mix the two and you should be running around 12.5
@alexjalaff I have a 93 gt. it has a couple mods such as BBK cai, e303, msd ignition, cobra upper and lower. Thats about it. I am really considering getting 373s instead of the stock 3.08s!
