  • 240p...... we meet again

  • @StarRuler78 Least it loads fast..

  • @StarRuler78 thats hilarious i've never seen anybody say that before

  • Searing does not produc (an) Alot of flavor. It does produce a lot of flavor.

  • @poizaz

But searing has been known to produce the species of Alot consisting purely of flavor! An abstract beast rarely seen outside of smoky kitchens.

  • Did both steaks have the same amount of external fat? Were they both marbled similarly? One experiment doesn't prove anything--this would need to be repeated a hundred times with steaks, roasts, and other cuts of meat, all with similar levels of marbling and external fat, in order to "prove" anything.

  • @ilovericklyon Personally I'd say Adam and Jamie would be good sports about it.

  • Now's that what I call a dead parrot.

  • I have this recipe for pan-seared burgers that is delicious!! They taste much better than anything I've eaten from McDonald's and that includes their McAngus one-third-pound burgers.

  • Alton Brown once accidentally julienned his cutting board. He sauteed the splinters in garlic and butter with a pinch of kosher salt and it was the best thing I've ever eaten.

  • Alton Brown is my idol :D

  • 420 mushrooms weighed

  • Alton Brown's show is called 'Good Eats' because "Multiple Shuddering Mouthgasms" didn't play with the network's target demographic.

  • ALLEZ CUISINE! HAHAHA! :3

  • Doesnt 13% to 19% prove that it DOES seal in more juices? =,(

  • @Brickerage No? the seared steak lost 19% of its juices, the non seared lost 13% of its moisture. the seared steak lost more moisture thus disproving that searing seals in juices.

  • @1HGClark D'oh! -Note to self- Must not watch YouTube while drunk

  • @1HGClark how does anyone know it was juices lost? could have been fat weight loss.

  • I love the hat.

  • LOL WAKEY WAKEY

  • Only Alton Brown can tame the alot of flavor! 5:18

  • I love good eats! ! food and science in a perfect marriage!

  • this parrot is no more

  • 6:56 He has an X-Files poster! :D

  • iron chef reference

    funny

  • underground wind, sounds kind of right because magma movement :)

  • the bill nye of food

  • Google hells best kept secret

  • He said he has a griddle he uses for nothing more than pancakes...wouldn't that make it a unitasker? Regardless, I love Alton Brown, Good Eats and Mythbusters!

  • Love this show :P.

    and also Unwrapped.

  • Does anyone else notice how Alton is quirky and smart just like Adam from Mythbusters?

  • Mythbusters is awesome

    Good Eats is awesome

Bind Them Together and you get two things.

    One is MGyotohdBEuasttsers

    And you also get AWESOME!

  • "Alot" is not a word. It's a lot.

  • I'd certainly say a difference of 6% is statistically significant.

  • I need to watch @Khadgar34 then.

  • X Files poster at 6:57

  • I always thought he said 'a la cuisine' which makes sense, 'to the kitchen'. Allez cuisine means 'go kitchen' WTF?

  • @greatbiggg it's actually the future tense, using the verb cuisiner.

  • allez cuisine!

  • Thank you for posting these !!

  • On Good Eats the cook made some candy corn that looked good

  • xfiles poster in the background! :3

  • 2 of my favorite shows in one episode Mythbusters and Good Eats

  • this guy is a freakin genius!

  • i LOVE YOUR INFORMATIVE VIDEOS! I've learned so much, they are so addictive! I watch them day and night! LOL

  • "...but it does produce ALOT of flavor!"

    SMASHED!

  • Oh man... I can't believe I just found this... Good Eats is by far the best show on the food network... and one of the best shows ever... Man, I'm going to be up LATE watching these!!!!

  • my favorite show on food channel.

  • CLEAR! -A-

  • Oh Alton... There is no such word as "alot." And where can I get one of those buzzing timers?

  • ANYONE ELSE SUCKIN D TONIGHT?!?!?! OR IS IT JUST ME!?!?!? LOLOLOLOL

  • Comment removed

  • love the reference to one of my favorite shows in my other favorite show n.n

  • don't forget to beat your meat before searing...tenderize it, that is.

  • Wakey wakey

  • that griddle is a unitasker

  • @elchubbo Then so is a Cast Iron Pan.

  • @elchubbo While technically you are correct, since he stated that he only uses it to make pancakes, in and of itself it is not a unitasker, as more than just pancakes can be made with it.

Although, now I really want pancakes --laughs--.

  • <3 this show.

  • recontramojado, what the hell are you talking about, alton didnt say anything was wrong with either way you cook the meats, he was just trying to bust a myth, and he proved it. i will still continue to sear my meat

  • @Recontramojado I will ignore the irony in you calling someone a moron and spelling it wrong...

but what the hell is your point?

He stated that searing is more flavorful, being the reason it's done.

The myth is that searing seals in more juice, and that was the point.

    He proved that it doesn't.

    What confused you about that?

  • @actionhank1786 I had a bad day ok. so i just half watched the video and wento on ranting and since english is not my first language i thought

Moron Spelled that way, but you are right he does states sealed meat tastes better.

Still dont like the show so i wont be watching anymore. Have a nice day actionhank

  • Now I want to start a stupid food myth just for fun

  • Funny as funny can be in a food show. Alton Brown is number 1 always.

  • Alton Brown is one smart, sexy man ;)

  • a crossover with MB and GE would be great.

High Expolsives and good food just go together.

  • its a lot, not alot...

  • Ha! Notice that the captain's hook hand is actually the kneading hook from Alton's stand mixer. Very clever, Alton.

  • 3:08 from Iron Chef America!!!! I don't know how it's spelled or what it really is so here's my best "Alley Cuisine!" I think it means start cooking or something along those terms XD

  • @SailorPerson "allez cuisine" --go kitchen in French.

  • @jenuflexion haha I missed one letter! thanks I always wondered what it meant :D

  • @jenuflexion

Cuisine also means cooking just in general,

So it could mean "to go cook",

  • it's allez cuisine meaning get into the kitchen from the original Japanese iron chef

  • The poor bird. So sad.

  • thats just another myth *spins*pose*points*

    busted!... smashed!

  • hahahaha, 4.20

  • Ha ha I love mythbusters and I love good eats so this is awesome

  • When I saw this I had a Nerd-gasm, the purest form of entertainment for me the only thing that would have made it that much better was if Jamie and Adam had been there or Kari I suppose but I don't want to start that discussion. Two of my favourite shows combined it's like Reese but in edu-tainment form.

  • like mythbusters but food

  • Food Network's Food Detectives just did one on the fact that alcohol only partly burns off during cooking, and even less in baking!

  • ★★★★★

  • alton kinda looks like adam from mythbuster

  • Comment removed

  • Iron Chef reference haha

  • a lot* 5:23

  • LOL This is great I love this show! I also love the show that Alton was about to copy the name. I wish we would get the show regularly in Canada though.

  • It is not a unitasker because you can make many different types of pancakes, chocolate chip, blueberry. ect

  • they are still pancakes aren't they?

  • A non-stick griddle that is used solely for making pancakes? *gasp* Could he possibly be using a uni-tasker?

  • you could flatten stuff with it, cook on it, and use it to slap someone silly

  • All very true.

  • well, even atlon says " I use it only for making pancakes"

  • It said "alot" instead of "a lot" on the tidbit. :C

  • I love the little twirl they did.

  • thats another myth...*twirl* busted! I mean smashed. smashed.

  • I love Alton Brown, my favorite TV chef! Too bad there's no new episodes of Good Eats coming out.

  • what are you talking about? They are still making GE episodes, or are you saying this guy isn't going to post anymore?

  • Oh!! I didn't know there were still new episodes. But yeah, it doesn't seem like Likethehat is going to post anymore.

  • If you want episodes newer than Season 9, subscribe to Khadgar34's channel. He's got more recent episodes all the way thru Season 12.

  • I Love Smart TV

    Especially when dealing with food

Good Eats is like the Food Worlds CSI

and Alton is one intelligent man, I respect him for this among many other facts

My TIVO is full of Good Eats !!!

  • I love this show. I love the macaroni and cheese recipe he shared. So good!

  • Alton Brown is as entertaining as he is informative! I almost NEVER miss "Good Eats"!

I've tried several of his recipes, & they are indeed good eats!

  • First, he's not calling it Mythbusters, you idiots! Secondly, you cannot copyright a title. Have IQs dropped while I was away?

  • Um.. wrong.

That's why we have "The ghostbusters" and "The real ghostbusters" Even though the second is the orginal.

  • A LA CUISINE! lol iron chef + good eats + mythbusters.

  • I know I'm nitpicking, but what the chairman yells in Iron Chef is "Allez Cuisine" not "À la Cuisine"

  • thats french for lets get cooking! (=, a la cuisine would be at the cooking,

  • that was the point....such as myth smasher(busters)

  • is that a perody of Mythbusters

  • nice hat

  • What, copyright infringment?

  • there's another show called 'Mythbusters'

  • there's another show called 'Mythbusters' on Discovery Channal

  • oh thanks

  • Two of my favorite shows put slightly together

    THANK YOU AB

  • actually he can't without permission of Mythbusters, mythbusters's lawyer and Adam/Jamie's permission

  • would of been cool if adem and jamie made a appearance ^^

  • "never think of broiling in a nonstick pan"

...didnt he do just that in his omelet episode?

  • I just checked that episode, and you're right!

Then again, it was a season ago, so maybe he's learned better since that time?

  • Capt. Jefferson Quint lol That sketch was hilarious! I love this show , thanks for sharing all of this with us :)
