yes..many times was a victim of those shops,...no quaranty...fuck them...it is real? they thought that we are dogs or what? may be because most of us are illiterate...can't argue for their rights. what is the human right man?...no wander why natives took advantage of the polical issues towards chinese shops? if you did peaceful things what are hell they will atacted your shop in a massive distraction...i will give proper justice when my time is ready...so that everyone enjoys, love all
i was treated like a shit in almost every shop i try to check goods out. when i was 15, i looked for some bedings cos i went t a bording sch..so i has not much money, i have to check for som cheap ones, bt most of the bloody chinese, are crazy. i must buy the bedings before i checked it out. i argue for a while they almost hit me,...what a hell? where is the consumers right>> fuck them...eventoday some of them never changed..all i will do in the future is consumers right in solomon islands...
I was at the NPF plaza when it all happened and went down. a couple of guys started it and then everyone joined in. it was the craziest most exhilaring time of my life.
I was in the riot. we called it black tuesday afterwords i beleive. After the prime minister was elected one of the candidates had his associates tell a group of malaitans to run through town and break into, break down, and loot all chinese owned shops and business' because he believed that they paid off the the members of parliament for their guy to win and in turn their guy would help them with importin exporting fees and tax reduction. thats what i heard.
My Mother is a Solomon Islander and the Solomons are very close to my heart. I was in Honiara when a hardware store exploded. It was crazy. Hopefully when I'm older I will have the money to help, maybe I'll get involved politically like my Aunty, Uncle and Grandfather.
utkonos do you know what you are talking about? what peace keepers were pulled out? can you tell me? let me give you my opinion (from one who has been over there working as a "peacekeeper"
they never left, so maybe you might wanna know what the facts are before talking about it
once again they never left, they were there well before the riots and even after they are still there. so research a little better before having a say about something you were not there for
WTH were the unarmed local police officers doing in the frontline ? Maybe they thought that they are some kind of terminator or something.

Every country has its problems.
In Honiara it was more to do with the Melaitians and the Guadalcanal people.
Yes its had some troubles but by and large Solomon Islanders are the lovliest people on the planet.
I have both worked and holidayed there and one day I would like to retire there.
To me it will always be a paradise and I would go back in a flash.
There has always been a little discontent with the Chinese becuase they do treat the Islanders like shit.
But its wonderful.

It was the Greens leader here who demanded that our peacekeepers were pulled out in the first place. As soon as they were the riots happened.
