yes, r.r. the icom 706 is a great radio and i highly recommend it. .....was putting out abt 60 watts on hf.....i use a full size perth outbacker with my mobile set up. this qso was on 17 meters in the late afternoon..and v.c, yes, a great location to work dx from....yards from the peconic bay...hope to follow up with more mobile qsos!
@ThePsycoticboxman Great contact! I hope to have a nice setup like that one day. Yeah, that's the same radio my grandpa has in his Land Cruiser. Would be great to see more videos of your quos for sure! I was surprised at the quality of the video also. I have an old HF base station, but since I don't have my general yet, I have yet to plug in the mic. If you are interested, I have started a ham site (not real technical, just fun) The Internet Movie Radio Database. Anyway, keep it up and 73! N7GAR
@RockRacer1982 yes, i was the camera man! i hardly know the names of these radio's. my dad is the one that knows them all and he's the real ham radio oporator.
@RockRacer1982 well, thats great! my dad started working with ham radios when he was younger than me. i think he started when he was 14 or 15. he now has 20 ham radios to work with!

@ThePsycoticboxman I assume you might have been the "cameraman"? Yeah, the 706 is the Icom ham radio used.

@ThePsycoticboxman I figured and no worries. It's a lot to know. My dad (and gramps, and other family members) got me into it.
