  • I am a huge fan of John Chee and the Crazy Elephant bar. That Gillian fellow is pretty good, also. :-). This clip is priceless. Whenever I get to Singapore, the first night I hit the C.E. Bar and sing with John and the band. Love those guys.

    Elvis

  • oh my ,is this really in singapore?

  • Crazy Elephant is a great blues place in Clark Quay in Singapore. The guy you can see to the right of Ian (left looking at the screen) is s shy great blues guitarist named John Chen. Him and his band have made that place a great venue for bluesin and jammin.

  • @GPS001

The guitar player's name is John Chee!

  • The guitar that Ian is using, it seems the same that Ritchie used in the early days of Deep Purple, or am I wrong?

  • @simo2805

    u'r right, it's a Gibson ES-335. Ritchie used it till 1969 or 1970, i think

  • @simo2805 you are correct, maybe Ian stole it from ritchie in revenge lol

  • nice to see such legends just enjoying the music & jamming

  • Don Airey is the camera man?

    I can't see him...

  • Hello, Roberto! Don just can't be seen here, he participated in this whole though jam and that is a fact.

    Cheers

  • @nazzare79 1:44 Don Airey

  • So thats where Ritchie's ES 335 went! lol

  • few words... i love you Gillan!

  • hahahahaha bellissimo

  • Gooooooo Gillan, he is so cute here with guitar...:)

  • If you look VERY closely at some of the pics on the inner sleeve of "Machine Head", you'll se Gillan with Ritchie's strat in hand. Maybe this is the reason behind their famous 30+ year long falling out? ;-)

  • Aww what a sweet, adorable video! :)

  • Grande. basta

  • Yeah Gillan Rules!!!

  • Fuck me, this is rare. I've never seen Ian Gillan with a guitar before.

  • Yes, very rare. Nice to see him with a guitar

  • What I don't understand is why this is on Spansh youtube, as I didn't upload it on here.

  • Thanks for the video Velubyy,I didnt know Ian Gillan is a good guitar player.

  • Gillan ci sorprende sempre di più!

  • Anyone else with a comment? I am sharing this rare piece cause it wasn't on youtube before, and it's a good first upload, may as well start with the goods.

  • Yes...interesting video!

It's hard to make out Gillan's guitar. It looks to be a Gibson ES-335 of the type like Blackmore's from the early days. Was this his own instrument?

  • BTW... I had the opportunity to play with Gillan a few years ago. Check out my video.

    Thanks for the post!

  • Blimey 'T' it's Crimson Ghost!

Some day I'm going to turn this page all out with a huge variety of great music and educational favorites. I will start with my Gillan's Inn B.C. clips and hopefully build a library after that. My channel awaits me...
