Let me guess: 1968. Northern Soul. Love late 60s records for this reason--aggressive brass--clipped rhythm guitar riffs--strong bass lines, a drum track that's strong without being overpowering, and those major 7th chords to sweeten the song up.

A far cry from what's shakin' today.

Your right mate,it is his best work,it's got everything you want to have in a classic Northern Souler,top class vocal,rolling drum patterns and a throbbing bassline and a bit of brass as the cherry on top,i loves it ;o)

'Sposed to be £7 worth at Wigan 1978 ish......but I NEVER saw a copy. Managed to get a couple much later on though... :-) Great story, great music......GREAT TUNE!!
