  • @StickInc1 Thanks we appreciate that!

  • when the log caught fire a little why did you continue blowing it? is it to keep the ember going??

  • Is fire steel just a stick of steel? I think I've seen Bear Grylls use one before.

  • @ExtremeJeffEnigma It is a rod that is also called a Ferrosium rod, when you scrape it with a hard edge that is high carbon steel, there is a reaction that creates the sparks.

  • The rolling boil is more of a visual signal to let you know it's purified. You don't need to boil for several minutes (only @ altitude). Great videos though, keep'm coming mate : )

  • Would that trick work with a single, charred stick? Or do you need 2 charred pieces of wood for that to work?.

    Neat stuff. Good work!

  • @KiltPatrick

You have to have the two. They feed off of each other building heat until, fire.

  • I have seen this vid four times and I am still amazed I love this video

  • nice work

  • U dull your knife if you keep striking that thing on the sharp side. lol

  • @flipster12000 Look closer my friend, I'm not striking it with the knife edge. The Fallkniven has a sharp edged spine made just for striking a firesteel. That is what I am using as a striker.

  • ok cool thanks

  • dude i think you should do a Dakota fire pit big make a small hole where the wood will go and the place the cup on the soil.

  • Thanks - Dave is a good friend, when ever he asks me to come out I do my best to make it - it is a 4 hour drive to get out where he hangs in the woods, but it is always worth it.
