God is not great. The God in the bible was invented by a bunch of illiterate, ignorant barbarians who had no clue what a germ was. So they invented demons and then a God that they thought would make them feel better. KInd of like a placebo. @nogogma It's striking how many atheists have next to no valid scientific substance in their claims, when science is their only religion. I think it's safe to say that the authors of the Bible were very far from illiterate. Nor were they clueless about germs - washing (in running water) was extremely important to them after contact with unclean things like dead bodies. We didn't catch onto that until only a few decades ago. "Proof he has brain damage"? Do you even know the definition of "proof"?
The problem with all of these comments is that everyone is so absolutely certain of what they are saying. In fact, none of us are certain. Just because there is no tangible physical proof that science can observe to prove god exists doesn't mean he is non-existant. On the same hand, just because Genesis exists doesn't mean anyone can be certain that it is 100% true. At this moment in time there is absolutely no way to be certain of any of this, regardless of how much faith or science we have.
This is nothing short of amazing... I somehow managed to read all of these comments and am sad to see that many people watch this video and for some reason don't take it to heart... They still deny God even after watching a full 40 minutes worth of proof! I've had several years to pray, worship, and learn but proof such as this and all the many stories of the bible really helped me in my spiritual journey with my one and only King of Kings and Lord of Lords!!!
Eeerrrr my post got truncated.... The rest basically said science is the study of the world around us, and as we look around, if anything, science enhances God's glory even further. (e.g. God made the laws of physics, standard model particles, all cells, organs and organisms, etc. Almost like he's telling us to keep looking, for he has more and more in store for us.

It is his masterpiece, and he made it to bring glory to himself, to show how great he truly is. This "giving up" that you said is what Christians often call "surrender". Overriding the question of the origin of life is that of of self-existent matter. Let's be clear, there is no "explaining" an eternal, self-existent, intelligent being. And yet that leaves less to be explained than a materialist system in which both life, matter itself, and the laws of science are eternal, self-existent, but not intelligent/cognizant. God is not explainable w/in the limits of our minds - but the materialist worldview, is absolutely impossible - even when judged on its own terms.

Just to be clear, the we as humans run into here, is not about any supposed incoherence concerning the unexplainable, but about the limits of human knowledge and wisdom. None of us can fully explain either a self-existent, eternal God OR materialism. The limits of our knowledge simply does not permit it. This pertains even more so to materialism than God's mysteries.

Just because someone has supposedly rejected God's love...doesn't mean you should reject them. I think it's safe to say that the authors of the Bible were very far from illiterate. Nor were they clueless about germs - washing (in running water) was extremely important to them after contact with unclean things like dead bodies. The problem with all of these comments is that everyone is so absolutely certain of what they are saying. In fact, none of us are certain. Just because there is no tangible physical proof that science can observe to prove god exists doesn't mean he is non-existant. On the same hand, just because Genesis exists doesn't mean anyone can be certain that it is 100% true. At this moment in time there is absolutely no way to be certain of any of this, regardless of how much faith or science we have.

They still deny God even after watching a full 40 minutes worth of proof! Eeerrrr my post got truncated.... The rest basically said science is the study of the world around us, and as we look around, if anything, science enhances God's glory even further. (e.g. God made the laws of physics, standard model particles, all cells, organs and organisms, etc. Almost like he's telling us to keep looking, for he has more and more in store for us.

sure it's great. i get it. it's awesome. Maybe it's something we can never understand. But i feel like it's too much to say that something called God created it all for no apparent reason and that there is some rhyme or reason behind it. Overriding the question of the origin of life is that of of self-existent matter. Let's be clear, there is no "explaining" an eternal, self-existent, intelligent being. And yet that leaves less to be explained than a materialist system in which both life, matter itself, and the laws of science are eternal, self-existent, but not intelligent/cognizant. That's probably the only conclusion a materialist can derive from my comments, because the materialist assumption is that the empiricism is almighty.Thus, if something transcendent retains mystery, they assume contradiction. If you want to see a contradiction, chase materialism to its conclusion-it can never lead to anything other than an endless chain of successive prior causes, that according to materialism, can't be self-existent-& it's not even cognitive dissonance - just denial.

Just to be clear, the we as humans run into here, is not about any supposed incoherence concerning the unexplainable, but about the limits of human knowledge and wisdom. None of us can fully explain either a self-existent, eternal God OR materialism. The limits of our knowledge simply does not permit it. This pertains even more so to materialism than God's mysteries.

But after making that choice that we want to go, we have to show Him that we love Him, He is the uiltimate God, and announce He is the Lord of the world and our lives.
