  • Low = Maplestory music, creepy.

  • What midi keyboard do u have?

  • @traxxtwinz The one is this video is an older model 25-key controller from M-Audio called the Oxygen 8 v2.

  • @keybdwizrd Thanks for your reply :)

  • How would you compare the old Pro-53 to the older Pro-52? Is the sound fatter? Does it have better presets?

  • @MessyJatador Never had the Pro-52.

  • keybdwizrd , how does the pro-53 compare to omnisphere? Do you still even use this vst?

  • @GwenDUff It is VERY limited compared to Omnisphere, and no, I hardly use it at all.

  • @GwenDUff ahh, ok.. thanks again keybdwizrd.

  • Good job is a perfect demostration..thnx man

  • @TheXamba Thanks!

  • I have a Yamaha Psr-230 synthetyzer with midi in-out. I bought a midi usb cable, but I cant that set up. The voices coming out to the synth, but reversely doesn't work. What can i do?

  • DUDE.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE VIDEOS.

In other news, I'd recommend going to a larger keyboard, haha.

  • Nice Mega Dance wus the best !

  • what computer program are you using?

  • @happysteve3000 Pro-53 from Native Instruments.

  • mellow strings RuleZ

  • M-Audio controllers are available from just about every major instrument retailer that I am aware of.

  • where can you purchase the M-audio oxygen . Sam ash?

  • hey mate...i got that keyboard 2 but i cant get it in and use it with fl8 =S please help me

  • Sorry, but this isn't a place for tech support. There are some great keyboard forums online, such as the Keys, Synths, and Samplers forum at the Harmony Central website. Lots of smart people there who know tons about keyboards. Good luck.

  • not on topic, but good luck getting it to work in vista. takes a lot of tweaking.

  • The sound "Low" is awesome

  • agreed :D...very mystical sounding :3

I'm partial to the Hi-Tek sound myself

  • brill man.. i have the oxygen 61 keyboard and the s2 and s3 soft synth but i cant get anything like those sounds out fo it... i cant work out how to program the sliders or rotary controls :O(

any tips please mate as i am lost with it

  • are you using the standalone or did you open it inside of a program

  • standalone

  • Nice piano skills, are you only showing presets or have you tweaked the sound yourself ? Keep up the good work !

  • I typically just do presets so that people hear what they'd actually get if they bought the instrument.

  • hey is this good for make hardcore sounds u know like the prodigy or that bands, is this really like the original prophet 5 ?

  • Sorry, dunno, I have never played a "real" Prophet 5.

  • what sound card do you have?

  • I don't have a sound card... I have an M-Audio Duo USB connected to my iMac.

  • great video!

  • Do you need a midi keyboard to use the pro-53?

  • Well you can use your mouse to click on the keyboard on the screen, but that gets rather tedious.

  • midi keyboards rock , but you can use the pc keyboard of course ;)

  • Oh yeah... Thnz

  • Great stuff!!! I Just bought the Arturia Prophet V. If it sounds half as good as the Pro-53 I'll be happy. I was also interested to see how the Oxygen 8 works, as I've been thinking of buying one - think I'll buy it, now.

  • Very nice! can you program sounds like made by Vince Clarke, very modulated talking bass or lead used in Upstairs at Erics?

    Thanks!

  • Thanks, sorry, but I am not familiar with those sounds.

  • What made you pick the Native instruments PRO-53 instead of Prophet V from arturia?

  • I'm not sure, but as I recall I purchased Pro-53 before Arturia's product had been released. I've never played the Prophet V.

  • pretty cool man, i just bought a NI synth bundle.

  • Great Demo video of one of my favourite SoftSynths - Nice!

  • NAtive insturments definitely hit something special with this one.

  • Was this before you got your prophet 08? I forget when that was released.

  • It has to have a man who knows how to play keyboard. Thanks.

  • scrubber sounds as good as an Arp 2600, brill

  • Great video my friend. I regard this wonderfull Vsti like a personal Swiss army knife.

  • Yes, and yes.

  • Great video!

So I have a question. Honestly, do people actually use these kinds of instruments to produce music? Like, can you use all these different sounds for like producing, say, hip hop?

  • sure do! in fact most people who produce hip hop have a setup similar to this, but perhaps with a DAW (basically a synth sequencer, and audio tracks combined).

  • Thats cool! I used to get stuck on things like this because when I make music, I was unsure of which sounds to pick!

  • A question keyboardwizard...

Do you like more software synths or hardware synths?

  • Generally, I prefer hardware synths. But I like software because it is inexpensive and very portable (on my laptop computer).

  • Same :). As a kid I can't afford cool toys.

  • same!!! i should stop watching modular synth demos...i might end up wasting my childhood saving up for one...

  • how do you get the sound oatches to show up in the pro tools

list of patches? do i really have to go to the patch folder every time?

  • I change patches using the virtual buttons on the front panel of the softsynth.

  • But isn't there a way to bring up a list view of them, so you don't have to go to "load, save", etc?

  • Hi. can you recomend a good softsynth for use for electronica type sounds? Its going to be used in ableton live so it doesn't have to have a bunch of efx it must just have good sound and be easy to operate and edit.

  • Try the forums at the Harmony Central or KVR websites. Thanks.

  • what computer and interface did you use?

  • At the time I was using an iMac G4 and M-Audio USB Duo interface.

  • haha, last tune=Keyser soze..Scooter rocks!

  • Music...is music...

  • it is not the instrument, it's the person playing and what they do with it. Some prefer a room full of vintage gear and the tactile experience that goes with it, others can say been there there, done that, and embrace a new way of making music that is really just as valid. It's a new way to do it. It's still synthesis afterall.

  • Yea, softsynths are the greatest thing to happen to music, so you sell all your hardware gear and buy a bunch of "emulated" versions of your gear...then one day you wake up and you realize you dont own

    the real thing anymore. hahahahaha

  • and that you are free from the clutter and who needed all that space eating gear anyways

  • yea, i guess if you have to share a prison cell with charles manson, it might be problem. guess what, i just sold my car and i bought a driving game. no more auto repair problems, woohoo!

  • I have had my share of all the gear, running a 24 track analougue studio and im very happy to rid of it all and downsizing as much as possible.Still need my car so thats a silly analogy.dont need manson either just a life outside of the studio and thats a good thing ymmv cheers

  • yea, i guess it comes down to how fond you are of the real instruments. i know I would take the presence and feel of my hot g/f over some tiny little 2 dimensional representation of her any day.

theres somthing about the interaction with the real instruments that can't be duplicated with an emulation. to each his own i guess!

  • hey peace man.For a producer/writers it has been wonderful change to have your patches your sounds your mixer all automated under one enviroment.Man i loved and owned many moogs Emu2,oberheims,prophets,dx's,kurzweils,rolands all classics but thats in the past.for sure each real keyboard has its own output section and sound that digital cant replicate but the rest is pretty good for people who need to work fast and layer lots of sounds .its about the music anyway.Peace again.

  • all those wires...yuck! all the synths are in my computer.

  • what's next is we'll have a bunch of 'virtual virtuals" - virtual emulation of actual software programs that imitate the instruments themselves. so it's kind of like going back in time.LOL..It's the next biggest thing so place your order now, operators are sitting by. thank you drive through

  • you mean like the matrix, where you will be able to enter a 3D environment that contains the emulated instruments. you will be able to feel them, smell them, even taste them.... moog.....yummm. XD

  • hmmm...now that would be an interesting concept..matrix style {not to be confused with any Oberheim virtual emulation} sure beats twiddling with a mouse!

  • I owned a pro-5 for a few years and tweaked about every possible sound out of it. I can certainly hear the familiarity in the sounds. I doubt I could pass a blindfold ear test between the two on many of the sounds, although some sounds here are utilizing features not available on the pro-5.

  • that's a cool demo.

too bad it sounds little like a Prophet 5...or any VCO synth for that matter...

    thanks

  • get the blindfold out sync5controller...

  • Very nice. Interesting to see you are trying out the softsynths as well! Love it!

  • nice!! :)

  • I have that too! A very neat and powerful program.
