  • @MsFruitPastilles Defending a place that you like due to some familial or historical tie by telling anyone who disagrees with you that they are pathetic.. very cerebral(!)

  • Heheh! It's funny how people react as they become gradually aware they're being filmed!

  • LOL! The guy in the trilby with the cig (or spliff) looks like Pete Doherty!

  • Caistor is, and always has been, an epic shit-hole. There. I said it.

  • @kardroz

Oh get lost you pathetic loser, we don't care what you think about Caistor because your opinion doesn't really count.

  • not really

  • what a crap video

  • @cconnordegnan

What is your problem? Go and insult someone else, because no-one else is really bothered what you say; whatever comes out of your mouth is nonsense, judging by that pathetic comment. And you can just geta life, because your's is obviously rubbish.Sorry, but it had to be said.

  • Looking at the last frame, was this before the by-pass? Used to be a decent night there - but now only 1 pub. Even a few years back there was the Lion and the Talbot.

  • Bypass has been there many years.... before second world war I understand

  • I thought that it used to go past the garage and then the school and back to the A46 down the bottom of the hill.

  • Wow, im in caistor grammar school now and this is pretty cool. That field is part of the cross country course. For year 7 boys anyway i think, mi in year 9 now so i dont remember properly. but yeah this is weird.

  • Any chance to go back to 1885 ?

    My great-grandfather was born there...

If he could see his French descendants... we are about 50...

  • I've never even heard of this place, but I assume from the comments it's in Humberside?

  • @mistofoles South Humberside doesn't exist. It did, but for very few years. It's now Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. Caistor is in Lincolnshire IIRC; West Lindsey.

  • Looks like Caistor was the place to be in the 80's. I live in Hull so will have to come and check it out sometime. Love the bit where the pool guy gets pushed.

  • My god, what a blast from the past....... I knew there was a launderette down at the spar shop!

  • Degsy...oh my god that was fab !!! Made me cry ! Hope you're ok, really enjoyed the film...more please !! Lyndsay x

  • Thanks Emma

I hope you didn't mind me including that clip, that also goes for anyone else I have included. I went out of my way to choose shots that wouldn't embarrass or offend anyone, I just wanted to show some of the people and places from that era. For those who didn't know that's me walking into the Spar near the biggining. My now wife Sue is also in the video in the Talbot and sitting on the Market Place bench...

  • I love the song mate.

    Is it Alphaville?

  • Correct it is indeed Alphaville. The track is called "Forever Young" which despite being a massive hit in Europe never charted here. As I am sure you know Alphaville are best known for "Big in Japan" which although was great, in my opinion wasn't as good as "Forever Young"

  • Very nostalgic - maybe a sign of old age but just how I remember everyone. Well done degsy lets have some more!!! Kelsway looks new

  • Great 80's nostalgia.

Good to see it was not just us with no fashion taste in the 80's.

    Very Good - The GYGG

  • Cheers Mate, believe it or not this too was done on the camera from Radio Rentals in the Riverhead where Savers is now. Great camera but a bit heavy on the shoulder and looked like something the BBC would use...
