James Horner will go down as one of the greatest composers of all time. I love aliens as a film so much. Ripley, Hicks, Vasquez, Bishop towards the middle to end of the film all knew they were beaten and were fighting a lost cause, but they each found that inner spirit and fight in them to keep going.

You can always know it is Horner's score when you hear that low trumpet with the same notes trilling into the same single note, always in a scene meant to build tension before something happens. (I think it's in Apollo 13 also.) Everytime I hear it, I think KHAAAAAAAN is coming around the corner, since that is the first time I heard it...and no other composer copies it.
