I'm not used to seeing Joe play rhythm guitar, I still remember when that duty was held be Steve Clark...gosh I miss him in the band. I give these guys a boat load of kudos for hanging together especially when the times go tough, so many bands these days just split up rather than work through the hard times. Thanks for the clip!

I saw these guys on TV last night when they were playing at Download Festival.

I thought it was funny. The rest of the band are in good shape, cause they clearly hit the gym on a regular basis. Then Joe shows up with a big beer gut, and starts singing out of tune.

Joe may miss or avoid a few notes, but the rest he will hit. He's been singing for over 32 years so I'll cut him some slack.

Well theres a very thin line between hard rock and metal, its hard to distinguish. but if you check wikipedia or ask any metal expert, they will tell you that the Lepps started out as a New Wave of British Heavy Metal band.

They were always more on the pop-side of the genre though. Collen recently described the band as "sort of a hybrid".

listen to the stuff from their first 2 albums, thats metal right there.

I agree that you could label them as NWBHM when they started out. And you are correct about them being on the pop side if the genre. But to me their first two albums are hard rock like AC/DC...not metal (AC/DC always just called themselves rock and roll and thats what early Def Leppard was to me). But either way, early Def Leppard kicked ass. I like all their stuff but the first three are tough to beat.
