@itzjt90 depends if you know what you are doing. Powerlifters tend to arch it to get the full power of the lats into the lift.

isn't calve size more of a genetic thing? I'd say you need to judge his legs size by his thighs, not below the knee.

An arched back isn't bad at all. Lifting your ass off the bench is bad, but not a back arch. Doing so is good technique, actually. Some powerlifters could stand a 12 oz can under the arch they get.
