  • The first time my son ever drove a stick shift car was in my 78 carbureted 308 GTS. He drove with me in a parking lot and did very well with the clutch and shifting. He drove motorcycles so he knew about clutches. What a cool thing to be able to brag about.

  • As a child of the 80's I can recall the three main cars I loved lol......Magnum's Fararri,KITT from Knight Rider and the Coyote from Hardcastle and McCormick!

  • I give an image captured in good quality to see well "GTS".

  • Magnums car was a GTB not GTS

  • @emaclynch Are you blind? The roof is open, it isn't GTB. In addition, look at the letters behind the car at the end of this video, it's "GTS".

  • @emaclynch ya wrong. it a GTS.

  • @emaclynch The GTB is a fixed roof , Magnum had a targa (GTS).

  • how the hell did he fit in it???

  • I did not settle. I got an 81 308 GTSi.

  • he ruined the 308! not then, but now! supposing you buy one today, and your 30 something with a moustache, you will be called magnum pi, back then it was a cool program and gave many little boys dreams of a 308, but today? hmmm lol i settled for a 308gt4 and i dont have a moustache!

  • when Ferrari provided disposable roof tops...

  • Actually you are wrong my friend the 308 gtb ,gts ,etc.. came with a Targa top that looked like it just flew off but really hid between the roof.

  • He is joking...it is called sarcasm.

  • LOL wow, I can't really come up with a good statement for that one.

  • The GTB was the non targa modell.

  • yeah, haha... where did it go??

  • The roof scene always bugged me, where'd it go!? Now I know! It's the classic cilp that most people remember when they recall this show. But it was a fix! I'm now envisioning a crew behind the car ready to catch the moustachioed one's swift move!!! Go Tom, Go!! Floor it...

  • Whenever you think of a Ferarri. Think of Magnum PI. Red is the best color for those cars.

  • I disagree. Blue, even though rare, is the best color for the 308.

  • That roof thing is still crazy...

  • I've always enjoyed the slick driving for that sequence, dropping that lovely car right in front of the camera in reverse. Long live Magnum P.I. ;)

  • I need to know how that roof works, where the hell does it go!!!!!

  • In reality, it folds in 1/2, then goes behind the seats. He's just tossing it for TV's sake...probably a crew member to catch it before he peels off ;) When you're Tom Magnum, you can get a roof caddie :)) Tom Selleck, you're a class act.

  • Correction, sorry.....doesn't fold, just straps in behind the seats.

  • @bartolemeo

does the targa caddy collect his shoulder divots too?

  • from what someone told me, the roof actually slides back into a compartment behind the driver, so what he was doing is exactly how it works, he wasnt throwing the roof off, it simply slides back

  • My friend you are wrong.

I have both a 308 quattrovalcole and a 328. You can not slide the roof back unsless you do not step out of the car.

Expecially if you are of the Selleck dimension.

No way, there was someone pulling the roof away from the car.

  • Nice cars, but what an expensive pain on your wallet!

  • Oh, you can bet there were at least 4 guys (off camera) grabbing the roof as Tom Selleck shoved it back.

  • Anyone notice that the plate on the car is different from the one that was used later on. I think it says 56E-478. The one that was used later on said Robin-1.

  • Classic Ferarri!

  • Now that's my idea of good television !

  • Must be when when ferrari made disposable roofs
