VPB-122 lost 25 personnel including crew #17( except my uncle who was medically grounded) on November 30,1945 while flyIing a PB4Y-2A from NAS Kodiak to NAS Seattle.Quite a plane.
This was her paint scheme -- Dragon and his tail -- when I first flew in her in 2002. On my next flights in her in 2009 she was (is) Witchcraft. I miss her as 'Dragon' sometimes, so it is awesome to be able to see her again in this great video.
By far one of the best av vids on utube. thanks. i did a slide show of my dads pics from VPB-117 in CBI theater recently. he was the right seater to Lt. Ray Klasy in '45. talk about low level hell.. whew ! it's on my channel if interested. cheers.
@logan6298 I`d be interested to know who your Great Uncle was, I have been researching this and other Squadrons from Dunkeswell for about 15 years, your Uncle must have been on Tony Lucas` PB4Y-1 that crashed into a hill at Steeperton Tor on 3 Dec 43. I am about to publish a book of memoirs about Dunkeswell from many who served there, be good to include a photo and a little bit about him in the losses section, please private message me and I`ll get in touch by e-mail. Many thanks. Dave

does the info mean the b-24 has a crew of 13?
Dark0Ham 2 years ago
No, the B-24 had a crew of 7 to 10.
With no bomb load, the plane could take extra passengers so it had an on-board crew of 3 plus 10 guests.
