  • look up: "definiton of an english person" on google and be surprised

  • CPU i5 2500k 3.4ghz Turbo OC @ 4.3ghz

    VGA Zotac 550ti 1GB

    RAM Patriot Sector 5 8GB @ 1600mhz

    SSD Patriot Pyro 60GB

    19 Sec boot time

  • wow pcwizkid our specs are almost exactly the same lol it was only off by 3 seconds.

  • all my pc's died :-( but i will use this on my laptop

  • i7 2600k

    amd radeon 6790

    8gb Kingston hyperx genisus

    15 sec

  • 21 sec. :)

    AMD Phenom X4 955

    12 GB DDR3

    Ati 6870

  • good alternative is called soluto... really cool stuff

  • Lol if I tested my old desktop it would say something like boot time: 14 hours 52 seconds

  • hmm, I've got a magical device called a 'stop watch', it's crazy, you don't even need to install it!

    oh, 32 seconds from 0 - desktop

  • 14second

  • if your waiting all day for your computer to boot up then you need a new computer!

  • Nice, I always wanted a program to calculate how long it takes for my computer to boot up also. Thanks for sharing.

Hmm, I got some pretty good speeds, I guess.

13 secs to get to login and then another 17 seconds to fully get to the desktop.

    Total = 30 seconds.

  • 120 sec to desktop :-(

  • Hit the power on button, hit start on your stopwatch and when it's done loading, you are done!

  • I don't need this software, I use a calendar.

  • her is a list of my boot up times since install

    33, 42, 588, 39, 499 833, 630.

roughly one per day. you can see which are the days I turn on and go off to make a drink!! All the long-on timeouts are zero from the high numbers! something not quite right with how it calculates. I

  • It only works if you log in straight away. If I turn my pc on and go make a drink, then come back and log in, the boot time is like 10 mins!

  • With Windows 7 Ultimate x64 on OCZ Agility 3 120GB:

18 sec with all start-up programs enabled.

    15 without.

    POST takes about 10 sec.

  • Windows 7 U x64 : 31 sec

    Windows 8 x64 : 11 sec

    hell shit !

  • my netbook does 11 secs on 7 home premium 64 bit

  • 22 secs with W7 Ultimate 64-bit

  • Does it really matter how fast Windows boots? "Oh look at me I tweaked Windows to boot in 0.22 seconds" , its not a fucking racecar for God sakes. Now if you tell me you encoded a 1 hour M2ts file to Avi in less then 10 minutes then that would be impressive.

  • 25 seconds with Windows 7 Home 64bit on a Crucial C300 64GB

  • About 5 minutes Win7. It's bollocks. I never shut down, I just hibernate

  • @ArcanePath360 hibernate is basically same time as starting up a computer. If you never shut down your computer, the faster it will burn it's self out. GF 300 bucks +

  • @LuvHappinessLuvPain The topic of discussion is how fast Widnows BOOTS, not restarts from a hibernate. They are not the same. And hibernate isn't burning anything out, as I turn off at the mains, unlike standby which requires power.

  • 5 seconds.

  • 1:15 i have re-installed a fresh copy of windows for 2 years :l

  • 36 seconds to login. Im using raid 0 and the raid controller seems to be slowing down the boot up. Once windows is up it only takes 7 seconds to fully login, AntiVirus and ccc included.

  • 22 seconds.

  • 34

  • I shouldn't have done this...my pc has been booting for weeks now.

  • I don't know to be honest, i never turning of my laptop lol. it's on stand by for 6 months now.

  • @liquid0001 lolz! best way to do it

  • 72 seconds not bad for an 8 years old PC

  • 20mins with core i5,5400RPM hard drive.

  • @alancik123 that's terrible.

  • @Intel1502 I thought it's good O_O

  • Soluto is pretty cool too (:

  • 2 days

  • Nice, thanks!

  • i just don't know why my took 2 sec :/

  • How about I just look at my watch for this?

I don't need millisecond precision here.

  • @PR0GRAMMING We are lazy

  • How about "Calculate how long your PC survives"

  • @4500intelx my extremely old laptop with win95 is still alive and works perfectly with the stuff it can do :P I just keep it cuz it was my first ever laptop :)

  • nice♥

  • 67 seconds

  • I've got a crucial m4 and it took me 16 sec, ssds ftw I say!

  • Mine is Intel Core 2 Duo t6400 2.00ghz

    4Gigabytes of ram

    500Gigabytes Hdd

with Intel Gma x3100(i know graphics card kinda sucks)

nd it took ........18 secs to boot nd took 61 secs to desktop but its ok for me cause my lappy is fully skined up with heavy softwares...nd they have to start on startup

  • 20 secs on win xp sp3 :PP.

  • 39sec with autologon win 7 x64.

  • my main 6 core rig takes 3mins 42 secs :P

  • Is there a free software that somehow speeds up the boot for Windows?

  • @LilAznKayProductions Nope. It mostly depends on the amount of Programs you have on startup. The more you have, the longer the boot. There are 'Cleaning' Utilities that can help with your system, but then again, there's no way to make your Boot up a lot faster. You can get a SSD, but they are quite more expensive.

  • i have this problem every time i login withe my password and username it takes about 30 sec to im on my desktop do you know how to fix it?

  • Reduced my start to desktop time down 14 seconds using this with Advanced System Care to disable unnecessary programs at start-up. Toshiba Satellite Laptop: 2.2 GHZ single core processor and 3 GB of RAM. Original start time was 34 seconds to logon, 70 seconds to desktop. After> 25 sec to logon and 56 to desktop.

  • I wouldnt recommend downloading this. 55 seconds to boot before install of bootracer and 1 min 26 seconds after install.

  • 10 sec to boot windows. from the press of the power button to the opening of my browser=15 sec

  • 5 min... ahh how i love my pc from 2003

  • If you want your Windows PC to boot up fast, stop installing useless applications like these.

  • @morphinglight i know what u mean.... but let the noobs or (beginner) get to know` how long it takes most dont know`...

if u know keep your comment to yourself.

  • 1 min and 15 sec...from zero to IE

  • @sxyphatboy Try going from 0 to Chrome instead of IE. Gonna shave a minute probably.

  • @zver711 my laptop has an intel core 2 duo 2.23GHZ and it boots up zero to 1min 19 sec to chrome : P

  • @sxyphatboy That set up is still good enough to go to RedTube and such. There are people in Africa with Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz and passive cooling, I'm sure. You're one of the 1%. Lucky :P

  • @zver711 lol true

  • 36 Seconds. Win 7 with 7200 RPM HD =/

  • Time to logon; 81 seconds

    Time to desktop: 125 seconds

User Logon Waiting Time: 5 seconds

"boot speed rating: not good" HAHA im pretty satisfied with the speed.. i installed 20 windows updates too.. i think that time was counted aswell

  • Nice! I am gonna try this later!

  • 29 seconds to login, 45 seconds to desktop with my laptop. Pretty handy tool.

  • 22 second boot with Windows 7 64-bit on a 7200RPM hard drive :D

  • 8 secs, including auto logon, Win 8 Dev Pre.

  • @irhyslee Solid State Drive?

  • @irhyslee windows 8 has bugs that can distroy UR HARD DRIVE!

  • @irhyslee Windows 8 is shiiiiit!!

  • @dudes455 ahahahahah!

  • @irhyslee holy shit thats fast , is that on a clear version of windows ?

  • @irhyslee it is unstable don't use it until alpha or beta

  • 49 secs. How the hell did you login in 2 secs?

  • 26 seconds with a Kingston SSDNow V100 64GB. If I disabled some more startup services, maybe I'd get faster boot times....hmmm.

Then again, 26 seconds is good enough for me and "excellent" according to BootRacer...used to take around 3 minutes with my Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB. ^.^

  • shaved off a second - 25 (16 seconds to logon, 9 seconds to desktop)

  • About 10 seconds for me from the power button to the Windows desktop. I have a Crucial m4, it's really fast.

  • I'd like to see a linux varient to do a boot test

  • 29 secounds logon, 33 secounds to desktop total, no SSD ;)

  • Soluto

  • 7secs to logon, 11 to desktop.. Too slow. I definitely need to disable some services now... Kingston HyperX 120GB FTW!

  • Soluto.

  • I am using a magnetic HDD from Western Digital. Velociraptor @ 10K RPM. I tested it using this tool and BootRacer's report is this

    Boot Speed Rating: Excellent

    Time To Logon: 19 sec

Time To Desktop: 25 sec I achieved this rating because I disabled log on. I have no password since no one is using my computer, only me.

How about that for a non SSD and for a magnetic huh?

  • Mine takes ages. Due to a full HD encryption.

But not too bothered really, it's worth it for the security :D

  • Hack your windows registry to think that it doesn't have an anti-virus installed and then isntall ESET, Kaspersky, Bitdefender, AVG, Avast, Avira, Norton internet security suites and do a test ^^

  • 7 sec! intel ssd, i7 975 extreme with 12gb of corsair ram.

  • 49 seconds - 5400 320GB HDD with Rocketdock, Splashtop, iCloud, Live Mesh, and Microsoft Security Essentials with dual core Athlon CPU. Problem, SSDs?

  • time to logon: 33 sec.

time from logon to desktop: 30 sec.

total time to desktop: 63 sec.

    and this is a laptop

  • Soluto!

  • 1) Go to Google

    2) Type "Do a Barrel Roll"

    3) Laugh then stop and realize you're sad. :D

  • 15 seconds SSD all the way.........do a barrel roll

  • @ghostgaffdeck08 ur totally not watching achievementhunters:p

  • @ghostgaffdeck08 what ???

  • @ghostgaffdeck08 THATS AWESOME DUDE xD

  • 71 seconds

  • @555GB

how can i set this up with no anmation, but the mainboard screen comes 4times

  • about 67.98 minutes...? =(

  • When I finished my new build not long ago, I went to boot windows for the first time on my ssd. I turned around as and called my Mother "Hey Mum, look at this." and by the time I turned my head around to look at the monitor it was already boot.

  • sorry to desktop is around 15 seconds.

  • lol around 12 seconds. go my PCIe ssd. I got it at half price :D

  • ehh about 30-40 seconds with WD cavair black 1tb. Only have steam, origin and skype open at startup

    time to logon: 19 sec

    time to desktop: 36 sec

  • @angrybear888 i have caviar black and same time to logon 19 sec,

but my time to desktop is 41 ( i think is because i have more programs on startup )

  • About 3 years...

  • 10 seconds i tried on my chromebook before :D

  • wow 6 seconds :)

  • 35secs with a SATA III drive. Not bad, compared to these SSDs :D

  • Time to Logon: 10 sec

  • 1 min 7200 rpm drive.... i have few start up pograms :P lots disabled.... SSD is lame.. besides at boot up, its the time to get food or drinks.. even though its going to take more than 5min its still ok.... SSD is waste of money...
