  • OHHHHHH YEAAHHHHHHH

    -C&TK

  • It i were that guy I probably wouldn't show up with an ibanez..

  • @tMattLZ If you were that guy, you'd be able to play.

  • Ibanez for blues?

  • @endangeredoddities There's no rule that says you can't use an Ibanez for blues just the same as there's no rule against shredding on a Gibson.

  • Great post! there you have it folks. learn all of BB's lines in this excerpt, play with the lines and learn them in Bb and F. what a great study, tuned like a guitar: note too tight, not too loose. excellent. thanks!

  • dudes rockin some serious man jewelry...

  • I had this video and I gave it away because they didn't have any tabs with the guitar.

  • this man is flawless

  • king of phrasing!

  • Why is he wearing my wife's wedding ring?

  • @ESPsandEmgs -because he's a pimp!

  • @1954telecaster

    You got that right :D

  • very cool... thanks for posting!!!

  • what is the chord progression for the bridge?

  • impressive...

please check out my solo in this contest: /watch?v=Im8YvwpL2Uo

    thanks

  • It's all very instinctive for him and that must be hard to explain that kind of feel to others - BB is solids blues from his skin to his bones.

  • Those vibratos are mind boggling!!!!

  • I met this guy in Chicago. I was staying at a hotel with my family, and when i was on the elevator, this black dude got on with me, he gave me a guitar pick and asked if i played, i said no, but i always wanted to. He said "My name is BB King" I lost my fuckin mind.

  • @HenryFeefan imet him at a consert he was playing his show he had me come up on stage with him he gave me a pick and a necklace

  • @xx55AC55xx you trollin'? cause i wasn't. lol

  • @HenryFeefan -_-

  • @Tupasc :D

  • @HenryFeefan Jelous. That is the coolest life experience ever. Of all time.

  • Let me see if I can do it again... and it does it different everytime

  • he is using his pinky a whole lot more than before and going on all about the notes which in the past he said he didnd study at all...........i think this old dog is learning new tricks

  • Even when you listen to him playing licks in a lesson, you still feel that silk caressing your ear... Unbelievable.

  • 1:14 - 1:17= tasty.. they dont call him the king of blues for nothing

  • There are 7 motherfuckers that do not enjoy BB king !!!

  • @jcdiaz003 Well at least they're fucking mothers so life isn't all that bad. lol

  • @jcdiaz003 than why watch a video your to stupid to be able to enjoy, why not go trool some porn sites and play with your lil unit be better use of time dick weed

  • @jcdiaz003 fuck, now there 11!!!

  • C U WHITE PEOPLE DNT ASK TO DO IT AGAIN

  • BB got time to play around, just a little bit...

  • there´s so much feeling in his playing, BB king is what blues is about

  • master bb king yeaaaa

  • I want to double like this.

  • I always hear BB King playing lead, or single notes, I never heard him play rhythm,or chords.

  • true but many have tried.

  • he plays his ass off in this

  • I cant even imagine having the chance to sit with BB for a lesson..priceless

  • @rrguitar1 you just did

  • Amazing that he can get so much tone into one note even without a bend.

  • Sorry, but BB King isn't just right, because he's BB King. He's right, because he does some kind of a 3/4 bending from E to something between F and F#. By no means this was a full step bending to the clean F#. So ge was correct all the time and there was no need referring to his godlike status. Nevertheless this heretic should be skinned and hung by his own guts at the head of BBs guitar.

  • @WantSomeBlues exactly

  • Oh man, the guy is smooth. And none of that fuzz/distortion crap-- nice clean sound. You can actually hear the dynamics. A guitar lesson from the King-- hard to beat this...

  • BB should patent that vibrato. The best.So relaxed so soulful.Reminds me a person doesn't have to play a million notes to mean something.Just mean the ones you play.

  • @AllenPinchloaf why should he patent his vibrato? It's not like anyone else can do it that perfectly

  • That guitar has got prolly the thinnest neck I've ever seen. Awesome!

  • Fabulous!!

  • BB King , simply the best !

and one of best show I've ever seen ... It was hard to play my guitar after his show , i was feeling like I was the worst guitar player on earth . He's so impressive ^^

  • Don't ask me to do that again.. Yes that's playing guitar, put your emotions in it, not just learn songs

    like a dumb chicken

  • I know at 3:48 he did not correct B.B. King when he said F instead of F#. B.B. King can say F all he wants, he's B.B. King.

  • check out those bends. If I tried that w/ my strings, I'd be left w/ 2 halves of the string.

  • There is nothing absolute or special about "proper" progressions. They just represent the taste and tradition of classical European music. But there are many other musical traditions out there. Like The Blues for instance...

  • 7 people are Metal players....

  • @Lolinwhite Come on now, don't slap that on the metal players. Metal players can appreciate blues too

  • @Lolinwhite and dont appreciate blues

  • @Lolinwhite or closed minded to other kinds of music.

  • The Jedi master ... awesome awesomeness

  • @kennylufc

Yeah, the true Jedi of the guitar. Beautiful music.

  • it seems that the gibson built this guitar just for this man!!!

  • @DarkSlashITA Well, they did...

  • @snackajack117 XD

no, i'm not telling about lucille, i tell about the es335 models generally

  • 6 people after watch this have to sell his guitars....

  • like if you can picture bb king in jedi robes, passing down his wisdom

  • Clearly a pro

  • msters of masters!

  • 3.40 is just sublime. Less is so, so much more! What a talent.

  • IF BB KING SAYS ITS AN F ITS AN F, NOT AN F# DO NOT CORRECT THE MOTHERFUCKING KING OF BBBLUES!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheThepurplebird fuckin right, man. no one corrects the king of blues!

  • @TheThepurplebird he's not correcting him... bb king was talking about the note he was bending(F) and the guy said F# meaning a bend from F to F# i think

  • @SuperFredSa no bb king was just being generally kinda unspecific

  • Comment removed

  • @TheThepurplebird king of bubbles?

  • @TheThepurplebird But it is an F#...

  • @Winterdenni he was just being UNSPECIFIC

    get over it people

  • @TheThepurplebird Unspecific? That's the same as saying a note is a B when it's actually a C. It's not unspecific, it's wrong.

He made a mistake. Everybody does. Shows you that they're human.

Also, it doesn't take anything away from the great licks he's playing.

  • @Winterdenni seriously its not a big deal get over it and b and c is a different story than f and f#

  • @TheThepurplebird C is one semitone above B. F# is one semitone above F.

It is literally exactly the same difference between the notes.

  • @Winterdenni Please stop you know what i mean

  • Shows how all the shredders miss the boat. I could hear BB's soul in those licks.

  • I'm loving this!

  • BB King - Thank you BB King. Absolutely The King Of The Blues.

  • you can hear BB's finger nails hitting the fret board as he plays xD

  • Is this from a DVD? I am just starting out with playing guitar.

  • The master!

  • BB King had to check to be sure what step the bend was! this gives me hope :D

  • Worthy!! Into the favorites folder.

  • 2nd take was beautiful. He says so much with one note.

  • i love how BB's got a sweet ES-335 and that guys sitting there with an Ibanez with a floyd on it.

  • that vibrato is beyond sweet

  • "It's not knowing what notes to play, it's knowing why you play them"

    George Carlin.

    BB's got it all!

  • @wearemud When did George say that?

  • @Cody111079 A fair few times, but he said it on "You Are All Diseased"

    watch?v=zAulhFccKqs

    43 seconds in.

  • @wearemud Hey, lekker quotation! Inspiring!

  • Great, thanks for sharing!

  • Sublime, even in 'lesson' mode...

    What a master.

  • maybe he could shred without all that jewelry weighing him down... but we can all stand to learn something from him about how to play slower and make your notes count!

  • @doncorleone36 He doesn't need to shred dude.

Let the shredders shred, let BB and lucille talk to your blues.

  • @doncorleone36 This guy puts all shredders to shame, shredding is not really a big talent to know, its easy to learn. This is true guitar playing. I rarely see 10 year olds playing like BB king, but I see them shred all the time. Shredding is a cool thing to know but the above info is much more important and worthy.

  • Oh no no no, why'O'why don't my 535 sound like this?

how one man can say so much with such ease.

  • 5 users ar from KKK

  • The master of the blueeees

  • I love how you can see in his face that he still just feels and loves the blues @3:27

  • And so what with that??? If BB King is a rich man is for himself!!! He's one of the master in the blues, more than 80years old and he's still play very awesome!!!

  • @kickalion He's wearing a gold watch because he's been the figure head of an entire genre for almost 50 years. He was born in America, and he has several charities that help American children stricken with poverty.

While your off crying because you hate a culture that has done nothing to be hated, BB will be off playing guitar with millions in the bank, because unlike you, he suceeded in life.

  • @PBANDSNOW I say about helping fuckin africa you dumbass

  • @kickalion Why would he help Africa? He's an American. His only ties to Africa are his ancestors.

  • @PBANDSNOW only Indians are Americans.

  • @kickalion Native Americans are Native to the land now known as America, not Americans.

  • @kickalion: No, dummy. America was born with the drafting of three documents: The Declaration Of Independence, The Constitution, and The Bill Of Rights. I don't remember any Indians having a hand in the creation of any of those. Indians became Americans only after they were soundly defeated. There's a little history lesson for you. Maybe you should forget about guitar lessons for a while and take a trip to a damn library and learn some history.

  • @tomthefunky I see that the propaganda brainwashed you

  • @kickalion Poles: A nation known as the Rudimental Reading class of Europe. Your citizens are dumpy, nominally Caucasian lard-bags in cardboard double breasted suits. You're descended from barbarian hordes and you invented breech- loading artillery by pointing your cannons the wrong way around. You didn't know anything about sexual intercourse until the tenth century, having previously reproduced by raiding warthog litters. You shine your shoes with shit and spread shinola on your wheat fields.

  • @tomthefunky Ahhhhhhhhhh nothing like responding to someone stupid by being racist hey?

  • @kickalion monkey?

  • adorável qd ele pede ao cara pra não fazer novamente. mais de 50 anos de música e ainda persegue as notas pelo faro. não é a toa que cada toque soa tão fresco como nos primeiros discos. (adorable when he tells the guy not to do again. more than 50 years of career and still pursues music notes by scent. no wonder that each touch is sounded as fresh as the on early discs).

  • my all time favorite bluesman!

  • this man is brilliant...

  • 5 BGking fans dislike bbking .....

  • That...was...buttah!

  • So much for all that nonesense about how all the old great black blues player just play from natural god given instincts and know nothing about theory or what they are technically doing.

  • Why is it that a young guy like me who was born in 1985 can listen to bb king and appreciate his playing? For that reason bb King is with out a doubt one of the best players there will ever be.

  • the progresion is G7 -C7-....and????

  • @bufoncallejero

D7. Just a basic blues progression

  • is that a double cutaway les paul? does anyone know what model/year that is?

  • @sosavidz Gibson Es-335 without F-holes...

  • @OverSlyZed im thinkin thats a es-355

  • @MRstratman00 yea but its custom, no F-holes, no Bigsby(like he needs one)

  • @rokkerdude8 ah yeah, you right you right haha

  • The reason I love BB's playing so much is because he doesn't force himself to stay strictly in a Blues scale. He'll throw very tasty Jazzy notes and he is the Top Shelf when it comes to those in-between micro-tonal notes. He is completely awesome, man!

  • Does bb king have nail polish on just wondering?

  • I shred because I can't do this... I've got some work to do...

  • Good, this is where it's at with tasteful Blues playing and B.B. knows what notes are important ones, the ones that work.He really outlines the chords in the progression, what the professionals do. The way he spoke also gave understanding of the theory behind the Music. This is definitely something else than straight forward pentatonic s over the whole progression, good Video,Vic.

  • Tasty!

  • I love BB King!!!!

  • I could play the same notes, over the same chords, with the same timing, on the same guitar, and it would sound mediocre. B.B. is just so good at getting the "feel" right.

  • The thing with BB is how much he puts in to each not,let alone each phrase. I leanred this when I was 13 (38 yrs ago!) and listened to my brother's Live at Cook Co. Jail LP. I was amazed that I could pick out a BB solo anytime I heard one after just a few notes. Than't claiming yer sound Bro!

  • Just learning how to play that vibrato is a lesson in itself.

  • his nails are so shiny

  • kereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen..coolllllllllllllllllllll..i like..

  • think about this for a moment...this guy PROBABLY got PAID to take a lesson from bb himself!!!!!!!:))))))))))lucky b...:))))))

  • I couldn't get enough of that!

  • "Don't ask me to do it again"

    Words of a true master.

  • @gaiolinn word of an artist, not of a teacher...

  • One word ... orgasm

  • Man, he's just SO good.

  • why do u compare shredders and bb king? lmao.. u tools are comparing things that doesnt need to be comapred or even to be put into a "comparison context". shredders played their part and the blues played their part. the blues probably influenced the shredders. god.

  • im a shredder, but if i had to choose between which style to have,i'd choose BB King's style of blues.i incorporate alot of blues in my solos anyway.

  • All in all, Blues is a nice play and story between the minor and major sounds and the best players are the ones who find a balance between them and make it sound really smooth and nice. BB is one of them and he does it awesomely!!

  • Therefore, he puts in there a lot of the major notes that make up the chord progression he is playing over and this is why it sounds so good. Basically, Blues is modal music. If you wanna know in musical theory terms, he plays G minor pentatonic + G mixolydian scales over the I chord, then G dorian scale over the IV chord and G major over the V chord. The minor pentatonic is going to give the sa, minor sound while the mixolydian gives u the notes that make up the 7th chords.

  • What BB does is that he accentuates the most important notes of the chord. So, basically, if you`re in the key of G, over the I chord, he accentuates the G B D F also putting the blue third(note between Bb and B) there too for the bluesy sad taste. It sounds so sweet because of the major scale notes. When he goes to the IV, then he plays the the C, E, G, Bb which make up the C7 chord or if its a C9, he puts in the D too. When you go to the V, then he plays the notes of D9 that are D F# A C.

  • "It's not fast but...it's said everything that needs to be said."

    Three chords and the truth!

  • my god. this are the best f*****g licks i've ever heard in my life. Am i the only one that feels like his fingers are not touching the fretboard? suck a smooth style...he is having sex with the guitar!!

  • damn he is a such a fatass

  • Bb does not make licks he feels them

  • Interviewer: That was a beautiful lick that you played... from, from over the D chord back down to the C chord ahh...

B.B King: Ha-ha! ..... Don't ask me to do it again.

    lmfao genius!

  • 4 people have never touched a guitar

  • I`m so relaxed. I know what guitar masturbation means now in context of all those shredders!! :)

  • shit this neck is really slim!

  • i wish i had 0:45 to 0:50 on straight loop just to laugh at how stupid that interviewer sounds haha

  • 4 Shredder Mcshredders must have watched this and did not know what was happening

  • @Strat0Blues

They were confused by the blue Ibanez. Bless them.
