Great post! there you have it folks. learn all of BB's lines in this excerpt, play with the lines and learn them in Bb and F. what a great study, tuned like a guitar: note too tight, not too loose. excellent. thanks!
I met this guy in Chicago. I was staying at a hotel with my family, and when i was on the elevator, this black dude got on with me, he gave me a guitar pick and asked if i played, i said no, but i always wanted to. He said "My name is BB King" I lost my fuckin mind.

@jcdiaz003 than why watch a video your to stupid to be able to enjoy, why not go trool some porn sites and play with your lil unit be better use of time dick weed
Sorry, but BB King isn't just right, because he's BB King. He's right, because he does some kind of a 3/4 bending from E to something between F and F#. By no means this was a full step bending to the clean F#. So ge was correct all the time and there was no need referring to his godlike status. Nevertheless this heretic should be skinned and hung by his own guts at the head of BBs guitar.
Oh man, the guy is smooth. And none of that fuzz/distortion crap-- nice clean sound. You can actually hear the dynamics. A guitar lesson from the King-- hard to beat this...
BB should patent that vibrato. The best.So relaxed so soulful.Reminds me a person doesn't have to play a million notes to mean something.Just mean the ones you play.
and one of best show I've ever seen ... It was hard to play my guitar after his show , i was feeling like I was the worst guitar player on earth . He's so impressive ^^
There is nothing absolute or special about "proper" progressions. They just represent the taste and tradition of classical European music. But there are many other musical traditions out there. Like The Blues for instance...
@TheThepurplebird he's not correcting him... bb king was talking about the note he was bending(F) and the guy said F# meaning a bend from F to F# i think
maybe he could shred without all that jewelry weighing him down... but we can all stand to learn something from him about how to play slower and make your notes count!
@doncorleone36 This guy puts all shredders to shame, shredding is not really a big talent to know, its easy to learn. This is true guitar playing. I rarely see 10 year olds playing like BB king, but I see them shred all the time. Shredding is a cool thing to know but the above info is much more important and worthy.
And so what with that??? If BB King is a rich man is for himself!!! He's one of the master in the blues, more than 80years old and he's still play very awesome!!!
@kickalion He's wearing a gold watch because he's been the figure head of an entire genre for almost 50 years. He was born in America, and he has several charities that help American children stricken with poverty.
While your off crying because you hate a culture that has done nothing to be hated, BB will be off playing guitar with millions in the bank, because unlike you, he suceeded in life.
@kickalion: No, dummy. America was born with the drafting of three documents: The Declaration Of Independence, The Constitution, and The Bill Of Rights. I don't remember any Indians having a hand in the creation of any of those. Indians became Americans only after they were soundly defeated. There's a little history lesson for you. Maybe you should forget about guitar lessons for a while and take a trip to a damn library and learn some history.
@kickalion Poles: A nation known as the Rudimental Reading class of Europe. Your citizens are dumpy, nominally Caucasian lard-bags in cardboard double breasted suits. You're descended from barbarian hordes and you invented breech- loading artillery by pointing your cannons the wrong way around. You didn't know anything about sexual intercourse until the tenth century, having previously reproduced by raiding warthog litters. You shine your shoes with shit and spread shinola on your wheat fields.
adorável qd ele pede ao cara pra não fazer novamente. mais de 50 anos de música e ainda persegue as notas pelo faro. não é a toa que cada toque soa tão fresco como nos primeiros discos. (adorable when he tells the guy not to do again. more than 50 years of career and still pursues music notes by scent. no wonder that each touch is sounded as fresh as the on early discs).
So much for all that nonesense about how all the old great black blues player just play from natural god given instincts and know nothing about theory or what they are technically doing.
Why is it that a young guy like me who was born in 1985 can listen to bb king and appreciate his playing? For that reason bb King is with out a doubt one of the best players there will ever be.
The reason I love BB's playing so much is because he doesn't force himself to stay strictly in a Blues scale. He'll throw very tasty Jazzy notes and he is the Top Shelf when it comes to those in-between micro-tonal notes. He is completely awesome, man!
Good, this is where it's at with tasteful Blues playing and B.B. knows what notes are important ones, the ones that work.He really outlines the chords in the progression, what the professionals do. The way he spoke also gave understanding of the theory behind the Music. This is definitely something else than straight forward pentatonic s over the whole progression, good Video,Vic.
I could play the same notes, over the same chords, with the same timing, on the same guitar, and it would sound mediocre. B.B. is just so good at getting the "feel" right.
