was your check engine like one when this would happen?
my truck does the same but it goes away after it gets warm and it runs smooth only ever cold morning when i go to turn it on it does it but it isnt really loud like this. was your doing the same?
on 2000 to 2006 chevy they put a glaze in the engine. the glaze comes off after a while everone saying you blew it is stupid. it wont cause a problem if you let it warm up. trust me i have the same problem with my 2000 chevy silverado v8 1500.
Dude you got robbed..That's a Lifter and rocker arm..not a connecting rod..the coolant would be responsible for the oil breakdown, how it got in there only the owner and mechanic knows. You should have just replace the lifters and rocker arms..epecially at 67000..that isn't a major problem..if it was a connect rod it would be A LOT louder and consistant. Just my 2 cents..sounds like your mechanic took you for a ride..Sorry.
I did not get robbed. That was an early on video. It got a lot worse. I've since sold the truck and have a new F150. This is a common problem with these engines. read up on it.
@copleygsxr The idiot owner of this truck//video went to check and re-fill his radiator and put the coolant in the godam oil inlet on the fucking engine.
anything will last longer than it normally would if you take care of it. brand doesnt matter. i have 1990 chevrolet with 347,XXX on the poor wore out 350..lol. it does smoke a tad bit :p
American cars suck!! Why didnt you get the New Toyota tundra?? Its way better than a F150 and cost about the same!! I cant tell you how many american truck lovers got the new tundra and fell in love! I personally know like 10 of them!! And you cant go wrong in a toyota, it will last forever!!
@240sxGuy3 LOL a tundra is not a proper truck, thats why no one buys them. I work at a toyota dealership and we have only sold 3 and leased over 20 in the past 2 years. After the first year they start falling apart, especially if you tow
@andyass3 dude that is not true at all!! They are one of the best tow trucks you can get!! My neighbor is a Licenced and bonded contractor and he has a 2009 Toyota tundra TRD and its got 157k on it already (ALL TOW MILES) and he used to be a major Dodge and ford guy, now he is not!! They are great trucks, and idk where you got those false sales reports about them! In my town we see tons of them on the road, and they are GREAT TRUCKS FOR ANYTHING YOU WANT TO DO IN THEM!! GREAT FOR TOWING!!
@andyass3 TALK ABOUT A TOYOTA TRUCK STARTING TO FALL APART,THIS CHEVY CANT EVEN MAKE IT TO 68K WITHOUT THE ENGINE POOPIN! Toyotas are very durable and do not start to fall apart! I know so many people that tow heavy shit in them all the time and they have tons of miles on them and they dont start to fall apart at all! HELL MY STEP DAD HAS A 04 TUNDRA WITH 208K ON IT AND HE IS A LANDSCAPER HE HAULS TONS OF MULCH AROUND IN THE BED AND TOWS ALL HIS EQUIPTMENT AN THE NEW ONES ARE STRONGER AND BETTER
@240sxGuy3 The idiot owner of this truck//video went to check and re-fill his radiator and put the coolant in the godam oil inlet on the fucking engine.
@hnatehale This is caused by cracks in the casting of your cylinder heads, which introduces coolant into the oil, causing the lifters to make that noise. GM TSB(Tech Service Bulletin) says that some 2001-2006 GM vehilcles have Cylinder head defects w/ the logo 'Castech' on them. Dealer wants $4K to repair my '03. Look into it, oh and for everyone else, don't buy a used GM in this year catagory, unless you like to roll the dice! Not due to "too much coolant in the engine". Heads are junk!
Made out poorly. Had to replace the engine. It was a rod knock. Too much coolant in the engine. What a pain. Luckily I found a guy with an 06 L33 engine, he installed it for a great price. I just traded the truck in on a 2010 Ford F150. I will try this brand and see what happens. I just did not trust the chevy any more. Good luck to you sir. And it was not the flywheel.
@chunkeerod WOW that sucks, I have the same truck, this is the exact reason I got the LU3{4.3} not the most powerful but has 200,000 miles and still runs like new.
Just wondering= Was the vehicle still under warranty and did GM reimburse you for the cost?
