everyone should do themselves a favor and never pay any attention to andrew bain at all. arguing with him encourages him, its the fuel to his fire, dissension is the reason his ministry exists.(romans 16:17) tells us to stay away from these type of people "such people are not serving the Lord but their own appetite.he has been doing this for a long time and he has been warned many times.he is not gonna repent for his ministry.may God help him.just pray for andrew theirs nothing more we can do
Ah so it's the "way u live" 2 tell if somebody has what Paul Washer calls 'true salvation'. Wow!! So all u have 2 do is trick or deceive other professing believers into thinking you're saved by your works or fruit huh? What about 'moral' or 'righteous' Muslims, atheists, Buddhists, 7th Day Adventists, the Russelites (J Ws), the Judaism followers and etc.? This is a rhetorical question. It needs not 2 be answered.
At first I was ANGRY that some wolf in sheeps clothing would dare speak a word against true ministers of the gospel. But all who serve Christ will have persecution. and blessed are those who serve Christ and endure persecution. So all that wolf is doing is helping our beloved ministers to receive Christ's words of being blessed. I am so happy that this video PROVES what is true. People do not understand what it means about Jesus being LORD, and not just following the "easy believism".
honestly man, don't ever waste your time again to talk to people like McBain...lol :D
it's pretty obvious he takes people out of context. He takes all the great theologians and thinks he's smarter because of one or two sentences twists. I gotta give him some credit for it, since he's smart. But he's pretty stupid, just ignore him I guess :)
Is Andrew Bain aka Red Beetle? I just messaged Red Beetle, asking who he would recommend I listen to? I'm interested to hear his reply! He only seems to condemn others, never commend.
Paul Washer just saying if you are a christian then you should be different then the world, the unbelievers... You have totally twisted the words.....
Washer talk .. talk .. but never explains what's so grace, always putting fear in people, because Jesus has already forgiven us a debt on the cross, but by greed washer lives talking about sin, so do not preach the grace of Christ free.
@BeatrizEyes Paul just saying if you are a christian then you should be different then the world, the unbelievers... You have totally twisted the words.....
I just found a video today from Paul Washer, had never heard of him before. Then after checking the sidebar also found one from Andrew Bain which brought me here. The Washer video was an hour long and i watched the whole thing. It took about 30sec into Andrew Bain's vid to see what he was doing...sad. Thank you for pointing out this fool.
wow to this vid!...because i was, at a point, buying what andrew bain was saying..and i was just about to watch another one of his videos..until i saw this...Glory be to God!..let's pray andrew comes to repentance..
Bain has NO positive goal whatsoever, none. Notice that in all of his crafty fact twisting videos, that he has no positive answer to the wrongs he's claiming to expose? Just as nodoubt257 said, he's only here to make you angry.
It's not like he says "these guys are wrong, and here is what's right",always a one sided attack with no goal of betterment to anyone.
He is Satan sent, otherwise he'd passionately want to tell you what right IS, instead of only saying that Godly mens words are heresy.
I have watched and commented on Andrew C Bain's video on Paul Washer before seeing this post. It seems Mr. Bain is just not very intelligent and seems incapable of understanding a very basic message. He spent all of his time making arguments against a message that was NOT given by Mr. Washer. Watching any of his video's is a waste of time.
Paul Washer does not teach that works save you. He teaches that if you are really saved, the evidence of that will be good fruit or good works. You will find this in the Bible. Works don't save you. Yet, if you are saved and you have no works as "EVIDENCE" that the love of God is in you, are you really saved? How many of you love Jesus enough to serve Him? How many of you have even reached out and ministered to someone to bring them to Christ? That is our great commission (MAT 28).
God is satisfied in atonement .Man is a beneficiary.God revealed His Nature in Atonement declaring His Virtue higher and more exalted than any law.Atonement is to God the magnitude of His Nature. The atonement is not because of me .God revealed His Son to reveal Himself to have fellowship with his elect. When preachers begin to say faith is vindicated by works they do not understand God's satisfaction.Works do not save before or after salvations effect.
Andrew bain is a blight on the reformed camp. After he has gone through the complete list of puritans and reformers who, according to him, were all unregenerate and in hell, he will get around to critiquing his own doctrine and find that even he does not measure up to his own standards and proclaim himself unregenerate and damned lol.
@dk ~ Can you see my "two thumbs up?" Add RedBeetle, Blogrich55 & a handful of others to the list. According to Phil Johnson, these "Zanies," (followers of Zane Hodges & Charles Ryrie,) are "beating a dead horse." :-)
Take note: RedBeetle has disabled comments & ratings on his video response. What does that tell you? Control freak lacking in testicular fortitude. He lovess to attack behind closed doors on a personal level too, through PM's like the ones he sent me.
Lets make things more clear for some that don't believe, there's no such thing as a barren, fruitless, carnal or hardcore christian. True followers of Christ yes indeed.
evomitzu"No such thing as a barren, fruitless, carnal or hardcore christian."
Oh really! What about Paul and his talk with the Corithian church and calling them babes in Christ.
The apostle Paul called himself a carnal christian. Romans: 7:14. This contradicts Paul Washer.
As Christians, we live in this sinful flesh and will backslide. If you say you do not - than you are a liar. The only one to truly practice Lordship Salvation was Jesus Christ and he was perfect. Others fail.
@twospot7777777 You may see that as contracdiction, yes i do agree we are sinner's without a doubt. What he is saying is that if you are a true believer you would not want to remain sining againts God, if you know the truth you would not want to stay and follow the world. Yes we do fall into carnality we do have backslides and yes we do sin againts God. But as true believers we will NOT remain in that situation. If he said "babes in Christ" thats upon himself. not you nor myself.
@twospot7777777 For God did NOT call us to be impure. But live a Holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this intruction does not reject man but God. Who gives you his Holy Spirit. {1 Thessalonians 4:7} Now can you do anything without God? Ofcourse not. So how would you expect to change withouth him being in your life. You may be able to do his will but with comformity? As a true believer we are tought by Christ not man to love the narrow way without complaining. Why? Because we love Jesus Christ..
@twospot7777777 Now dear brother, i am not here to argue over this, rather to shed some light in this. I find no contracdictions in all of this. Perhaps you should pray in the Holy Spirit and read the scriptures. By no means i am againts you nor Paul. I take neither side but Christ he has shown me the truth not man. May God Bless you dear brother.
Here is the question. The first Salvation you can get saved and still be carnal and not care because i am saved. Just be hold accounted for and not get any treasures...Or second Salvation the one that Paul is preaching True believer by comforming to the regeneration of the Holy Spirit and staying holy loving God loving his commandments doing his will. {Or Not doing his will = eniquitis.} If you love Jesus Christ you would keep his commandments. So don't deny him by doing the work of the devil..
This is false sir! You cannot be saved and do whatever you want. There is no scripture in Bible. You are completely saved, or not saved at all.You want to go to heaven, but you dont want to obey Gods commands, very dangerous sir, you are being lied to
I am not implying that i am a carnal christian, Thats what most christian in the churches would do, i just set an example of what the outcome is, when someone tells you, you have been saved by saying a single prayer. A true believer would bear fruit by the changes in his/her life, and you know he trully believes because of his/her deeds and changes, thank you dear brother for your concern. Well to be honest i desire God.and he is in heaven.. May God Bless you =)
#2 - there is one, and only one question to be asked about someone's salvation. IT is the same question that Jesus asked Peter - "WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM"... To add to that, is to make salvation something hard to attain... If your answer is anything but the same as what Peter's was, and you know this to be absolutely true, then there is only one way that you could have arrived at that answer, and that is through revelation from God, through His Spirit - read Matt. 16:17
Well, I certainly believe that Bain takes people out of context, but there are several issues wrong within this sermon by Washer. #1, we ARE righteous before God, not just "right". The Greek word Dikaioo means "to declare righteous", and if at some point you don't understand this, then read Romans 3:21-23. This "righteousness", NOT "right-ness" comes by faith in Jesus Christ. Imputed righteousness is righteousness no matter how you slice it... #2 - in another post...
SOOOO many "Christians" are offended by Paul Washer because he preaches TRUTH. You "Christians" hate to be reminded of SIN. You "Christians" hate to be told of JUDGMENT. You "Christians" hate to be told of "HOLINESS". You Sunday Christians want to lead prosperous money filled EASY lives without ANY type of commitment to Christ. You have a fake 2D Religious life that leads to HELL And ANYONE who tells you the truth you scream back "DON'T JUDGE ME"!!!
StacyatLife:"Christians" are offended by Paul Washer because he preaches TRUTH."
NOT AT ALL. Paul Washer is a false teacher who teaches works salvation. Read Galaltians 3 and this describes Paul Washer and his teachings perfectly.
The apostle Paul calls him foolish. They taught that if they are doing the law then of course they were saved. That is heresy! We are counted righteous by our faith not our keeping of the law.
Yes. I heard this old worn out song and dance before.
All you lukewarm "Christians" (Rev 3 calls you Laodiceans) LOVE to talk about Grace, Grace, Grace, Grace, Grace, Grace, Grace, Grace, Grace,Grace,Grace,Grace,Grace,Grace,GraceGrace,Grace,Grace,Grace,Grace,Grace.......on and on it goes.
twospot...ANYONE who would tell you to REPENT (Oh no not the dreaded "R" word) or calls you to a life of HOLINESS is a false teacher in your eyes.
God forbid ANYONE would tell you to OBEY God...Heresy!!!!
First of all, You do not know me personally or my walk with God. This is the problem with those who follow Paul Washer's teaching as they lead to being judgemental.
I never said to go out sinning but are righteousness is of the Lord and not by keeping commandments.
Are you a new christian? Follow great men like Scott Anderson and stop following Paul Washer if you want real truth.
I do not need to "Know you personally" your contempt for God and His commandments are on You Tube for all to see. Your own words condemn you.
You teach that people do not have to accept the 10 commandments? That by any sane definition is Heresy and Blasphemy.
But who cares what I say...what did CHRIST say about his Commandments?
"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:19).
StacyatLife"You teach that people do not have to accept the 10 commandments?"
Why are you taking my comments out of context - We should obey the commandments but we are not saved by obeying them. Are righteousness is of Jesus Christ and not being Holy. If Holiness is a sign of true faith - How Holy do I have to be? How many times do I go to church? Please be specific on what a "Saved Christian" looks like?
@twospot7777777 Faith without works is dead read 1 John 3 if you sin your of the devil and have not the love of God your a lukewarm temporary Christian that as Revelation 2 says he is going to spew our of his mouth and in John 15 he is going to cast you forth as a branch!
Well nobody has to tell anyone to follow Jesus Christ, the scriptures say it all, you chose to follow Jesus Christ or not and obey him, totally up to that individual. However if a brother sins than correct him for his own good. I'm prety sure you wouldn't want your kids playing with a dirty needly they found right? You would correct them as well for there own good.
"Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance" would be the evidence of an inward righteousness. How would that qualify as works? The grace we are given results in a life that is transformed by the indwelling of the Spirit. Anyone working for their Salvation void of the Spirit is disqualified. Its only works righteousness when one depends on works rather than Christ for his right standing. Christ working through us is righteousness. Those who dont bear fruit are cut down and put into the fire.
By no means Paul is preaching the works salvation if you see more of his preaching you would see is not what you think it is. He is saying that a true believer would change bear fruit and not remain in the sinful state of this world, as many would remaning and being mold by the world. He speks of the regenration of the Holy Spirit which you have trully believe changing your life gradually. If you have a reltionship with Jesus Christ you would have a new one with sin. God Bless dear friend..
Please be specific of what a "Saved Christian" is? What do I need to do to show to myself that I have true faith?
Salvation is by Jesus alone and it is a gift. If just repenting(Turn from evil ways) was required for salvation to know that I am a true christian - Why did Jesus die on the cross?
@twospot7777777 no it is by God giving you salvation of his grace but he requires you to repent Jesus said if any man come after me he must deny himself and take up his cross.you must die to your self and live Christ surrender in prayer to the will of God! Call upon Jesus in prayer and in prayer forsake your sins
"Paul Washer is a false teacher who teaches works salvation."
Did you listen one bit to Mr. Washer preach? Open your ears and don't be so quick to scrutinize. Mr. Washer in fact says just the opposite of what you accuse him of. He is a grace preacher.
Somethings i may not agree on with some of these Pastors... but condemn them i would never...
I applaud this video, especially the ending Andrew Bain, I hope the scales will fall off your eyes. Because each time you place yourself in the seat of judge, you are exposing yourself more and more to Gods harsher judgment.
Aren't we commanded to love our enemies and pray for them? Well then, let's nog be angry another second, and let's pray for this AndrewMcbain. That the Father may give him repentance.
I have realized that Andrew Bain has ONE goal.....Make Christians angry. Check him out. He makes up this stuff just to provoke Christians and get Christians to leave mean comments and to make them angry. The best thing we could do is totally ignore him. He is doing the work of HIS father-the devil. He is a false accuser and wants to stir up anger among Christians.
Where most Christians get it wrong is they think that by believeing you are born again, but the truth is God makes us born again first so that we will believe.
I totally agree with this "Lanech" video. Paul Washer is a blessed minister, and his words are right. "AndrewcBain" is ever hounding after preachers who are not within the doctrine of, "claim salvation, and that's it - no repentance needed." And at the same "AndrewcBain" is claiming they are like Catholics making "works" a priority, when they are "saved by grace Christians." Repentance in humility and Works are different things. "AndrewcBain" is a liar, and if he doesn't repent - an antichrist.
deeds without faith is dead, faith without deeds is dead..we prove our faith by deeds so we need to believe in God and "do,do,do" what He tells us so we'd go "up" by His grace and that we were obedient.
Andrew Bain is as confused as a chameleon on an M&M box. If you go by what he says, even FAITH is a work, because to exercise Faith, is to DO something. Having Faith and not using it means nothing..and you will be known by your FRUIT - it's something a tree PRODUCES... and as a last point..Let the Word of G-d speak.. (Hebrews 11) They all proved their Faith through ACTIONS. You are not SAVED though works, but will bear the FRUIT (act upon faith) if you are, which ARE the works of Faith!!!.
Andrew C Bain was at one time a member of the PuritanBoard. However, he was banned from that board several years ago for his heretical views, and rightly so.
No one cannot expect to join a site like that, expect to fly right through with heresy, and not expect to be thrown out of there. That site is closely watched from within.
One more thing duio. A change in attitude towards sin and a change in lifestyle resulting from that change in attitude, brought on by the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit is not "a work or works" that we perform! If you feel that you have been trying to work out repentance or your attitude towards sin then i suggest you get on your knees. I too will pray for you if you would accept that. I pray it for myself daily that God continues to chasten me and change my heart cuz i cant.
(cont.) In sharp contrast to Washers definition of repentance, the Greek meaning of repent (metanoia) in the Bible is simply: A change of mind. If a person realizes their GUILT of sin (Romans 3:19), they shall be saved if they simply BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST (Acts 16:31). Call this Easy Believism if you dare; but it is the simplicity that is in Christ (2nd Corinthians 11:3).
I feel that this fellow is misguided. Paul Washer is well known to preach the truth of faith, grace and works. As receivers of God's grace, we are called to do works. The act of prayer is work, to remove our selfish ways aside for a time with God is work. In reference to the work of praying for faith, the disciples did it when they asked our Lord "Increase our faith!".
Peter sinned by denying Jesus. Yet, Peter was a born-again believer. King David was a Christian; yet he conspired to have a man killed to cover up an unwanted pregnancy from an adulterous affair with that man's wife. Moses was a murderer. Jacob was a thief. (cont.)
My opinion, is that Mr. Bain is desperately defending what he believes to be his salvation probably imposed on him by the "evangelical hoops". He has excelled in intellect to better debate his "salvation" for his own comfort. A parallel thought would be to state that no one would want to accept that their loved one is in Hell, Bain would probably fight to the bitter end to defend a parent or siblings salvation upon death based on infant baptism if faced with it.
(cont.) From looking at the Old Testament alone, we would have no reason to think that sinful Lot was a believer; yet, 2nd Peter 2:7 calls Lot a "just" man. The Lordship Salvation crowd would have considered all of these men unsaved. Yet, we see they were saved.
How come you have no new testament believer's except pre-pentecost Peter? lolz duio a christian is certainly not a sinless human being but he is regenerated, taught of God, and is sanctified progressively, Simil Justus Et Pecator as Luther coined it, however when you received Jesus Christ, did you receive his upper torso only, did you receive only half of him or as He really is, if He is Lord how can you receive him partially as just Savior? Did you believe in Him only as Savior?
I know of no-one in the "Lordship Salvation" crowd that preaches that if you sin once you are not saved, and neither do you. This is dishonest of you to pervert the view to make it easier for you to argue against.
I'll tell you who "Andrew c Bain" is, he is a hypercalvinist that came from the guys of "Outside The Camp" leaded by Mark Carpenter, they're all hypercalvinists that have blamed guys like Luther, Calvin, Spurgeon, Edwards, Whitefield, Wesley bros and modern preachers like John Piper, John MacArthur and Paul Washer to be heretic, if that makes you laugh, it does so to me as well...They don't read the bible as face value but strive really hard to put their LOGIC teaching out there... really sad
Paul Washer is a false prophet! Washers teachings do not coincide with what the Bible teaches. Washer (as do other proponents of Lordship Salvation) deceitfully claim to believe that salvation is without works; while simultaneously claiming that a person CANNOT be saved unless there is A CHANGE in that persons sinful lifestyle. In effect, they have made qualification by works a prerequisite for salvation. It is damnable heresy which negates the gift of God!
wow duio, you're a sad case!!!no wonder you're a 'King James only' guy, first of all the CHANGE is not brought up by the person but by the holy spirit, it's called 'regeneration' (and yeah it's not only on the King James Bible but even on the NIV, lolz), Brother Paul is a calvinist a five pointer at that, in no way he believes in salvation by works but that works are the fruits of a saved individual, get your facts right before attacking anybody else....
Its not so much what Washer believes as it is what the NEW testmnt teaches. I encourage you to dive deep into the new testmnt and see that in fact Jesus didnt abolish the law but FULFILLED it. Yes these old testmnt figures were sinful but you are using a gentile term to describe Jewish first covenant salvation. Whats the proof a person has truely trusted and believed in Jesus? Read John ch 15.If you hold this as serious as old test scripture then there is no denying Washer is speaking the truth.
"Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when THEY WILL NOT ENDURE SOUND doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears AWAY FROM THE TRUTH..... 2 Timothy.... sadly such is Mr Bain
Screaming and laughing they are dancing in your head. The angels arrive scorched by the flames of Satan. On Sabbath day from the ashes come the demons. They are our kings of blasphemy. Sabbath day is now demon's day. Now they are the true masters of your fears. Dark clouds have obscured the sun. The demons from Hell are rising into your mind. You will run though you can never hide. Their satanic dancing has attacked your puny brain. You can't escape, they are kings of blasphemy.
He is deliberately taking things out of context. His actions are ones of an unbeliver. He is malicious and a slanderer. No one is that ignorant. His motives are in question and I pray he repents. Paul Washer spoke at our church and his messages are powerful and straight from the Lord.
mabey you should stop trying to prove paul washer false cuz younever will, he uses the word of god which is much powerfull than the word of men.
ive seen other videos of paul washer when he speaks about "works" that your talking about in this video. why dont you check it out, its called shocking youth message.
A quick look at Bain's channel and he seems to know better than just about every well known theologian over the last 500yrs.... and then their's all of Bain's videos on missionary work, street preaching, bible studies, radio interviews and all the other things he is DOING for the gospel that - oh, hang on, there are NO such videos about him forwarding the cause of the gospel!
What i dont understand is. Why is he spending all his time degrading pastors sermons and theology instead of trying to go out there and save men with his theology. Hes to concerned about the preachers out there instead of the ones he should be and thats the lost men. Andrew Bain! Preach your message and let someone disect your sermons. Im sure we could find you at fault for alot more Herasy than any other man you try to condem yourself!!
If Bain were half as intelligent as he sounds and truly listened to, or read, sermons by Paul Washer (or John MacArthur) he would have to be a liar to state the things he does. I do not call anyone a "liar" lightly. I'll give Mr. Bain the benefit of the doubt and prayerfully hope that he simply misunderstands men such as Paul Washer. God Bless Paul Washer.
The first [and only] time I watched one of Bain's videos, my exact thoughts were that he was taking Mr. Washer out of context. When I tell someone about Mr. Washers sermons, I say,"You will either get mad or get saved, maybe both!"
Had Mr. Bain lived in Jesus' time, he'd probably be a member of the Sandhedrin... intellectually knowledgeable about the word, but as Jesus put it like "whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean." Matt 23:26-28.
Sadly Andrew Bain is looking for attention. I examined him (as my Bible tells me to) and I see no fruits of the Holy Spirit. Either he hates non-English or non-European preachers or he likes to contradict the word of God. I would not want to be near this guy on the Day of Judgment when God pours out his wrath. I and everyone here should pray for his salvation.
Thank you brother for sticking up for the truth. I had a total transformation that could of only come from God. I like Paul, was the low of the low of sinners. People like this guy cheapen the Holyness of God by misunderstanding grace and the desire a transformed believer has to serve our Lord.
America and the rest iof the world needs all the Paula Washer's they can get. No other preacher speaks the truth like him. It's time to wake up and listen!!!!
Satan is all out to destroy God's children. We are living in Perilous times...godly men need our prayers. Praise God for men like Paul Washer because he is not a people pleaser.
Andrew enjoys going on witch hunts. All he seems to do is "expose" those he doesn't agree with. He consistently takes quotes - not to mention scriptures - and twists them to support his own purposes.
Baine my man,go on the street and preach maybe youll learn something important about ministry. The only thing I ever heard Washer say wrong was that Billy Grahm was a kind man.WHEN in fact hes very mean and is a false prophet and Godhater.Hes probably just ignorant to that though.
My response to bain may be inappropriate but i'll risk it. Bain likes no one, his job has been to slander good men of God, and i do not believe he is a christian. he knows the language, but i am judging him by what he does. he treads on dangerous ground in what he does, it is sin that will only last for a season. God will not be mocked and will not suffer fools for long.
LaneCh, you have hit the nail right on the head. I have never seen someone so intent on taking people out of context to prove a point that isn't even true. Thanks for your response to Bain.
I went to his blog and I watched his responses.. Oh how blind this man is. This man is unable to understand what is being said just as an atheist does not understand what the Bible is saying.
people can be ignorant and say...its just the grace of God..i believe the bible says its by grace alone to let us know, when we're still in sin,he made the sacrifice, and even with our sinful nature,we cant be saved(we r depraved)here comes the grace of God..FREE...and then what? we will NEVER be the same..if God did a work in us,,,how can we not show the new us through our works? c'mon people...why do u hurt if u feel judged? maybe u have something u need to change...this is for the best of us...
Why do people judge others. Do you not realize that your trying to do Gods job. He doesnt need you to judge for him I believe God is comppletely capable of doing his job now do yours. If you truly believe you will fear God and obey his commandements. It doesnt matter what you think about others what matters is are you doing what your suppose to be doing?
Its not your job your job is to tell people the truth. When you judge others you bring an argument. Your not suppose to argue bewcaue you know the truth you simply tell them the truth and if they want to argue or dont want to listen just pray for them. Thats all you can do.
How do you explain the passages in Acts about Paul debating (or arguing) for Jesus against the pagan gods of that era? Also, let me just make this as clear as I can:
You say in regards to judging: "It's not your job..."
Jesus says in regards to judging: "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." (John 7:24)
Here, obviously, you contradict Jesus. Who do you hold people should listen to - you or God?
How does this man take the bible out of context? Is he a false prophet? is he preaching something that contradicts the bible? Then why do you judge him?
Let's stick to the topic you started initially since it was you who started it and have been shown that you're in error: You say not to judge, Jesus says to use righteous judgment; who should people listen to - you or God? It's a very simple question; we'd just like to know your stance on this.
Do you even know how to address questions when they're asked of you? If you're trying to make this into a straw man, you're not even doing well in this endeavor. I've seen far more complicated ones from other commenters here on Youtube. Will you answer the question? If not, you can read the policy for commenting on my profile page to find out why you'd be blocked.
Paul Washer has been preaching the truth just as many independent Baptist preachers I know preach - if you claim Christ you will have fruits. We are wicked and depraved and are only worthly of God's righteous, pure, and holy wrath. Christ took our rightful place on the Cross. If we are His there will be evidence of salvation, pure and simple. If we claim Christ but have not fruit we are not His and He doesn't know us. American Christianity is a complete lie. You shall know them by their fruit.
Wow calling someone a heretic because they belive there should be fruit on a Christian, gg, thats all he was saying in the vid that this one is a reply too, now im startin to see why the church is in such a mess, ppl want no standards to live up to, the try to convince them selves they can just say a pray an keep living how they did before they ever heard of Christ. Very sad, great medicine would be to read your Bible, or maybe watch a few more washer vids, theyre really good:)
I've heard just about every sermon Paul Washer posted & he's not heretic. I think Andrew Bain is probably like what my step-daughter said about her father. "If Jesus Christ were here right now he could probably find something wrong with Him. But really, I think trying to reason with Bain is beating a dead horse. Blessings,
It makes sense that when a man like Paul Washer comes with a Godly message that causes people to truly repent and be saved, that Satan would also rise up instruments like Andrew Bain that he can use to distort the truth like he's always done.
THANK YOU for this video, Lane! I've been a longtime lurker/watcher and only recently joined YouTube. Andrew Bain will have much to answer for unless he repents. He has been misleading people and hurting the cause for Christ for far too long.
I agree that the bible teaches examine yourself to see if you're in the faith, but the christians who get into that hyper-Lordship salvation stuff are very confusing and strange. They never admit that they could've ever possibly sinned in their whole christian life; like Billy Graham humbly does. They come off as so holier than thou, it's controling and manipulative. They just don't come we out and say falsely, "we don't have an old sin nature anymore". Spurgeon certainly believed we still do.
If you actually listen to Paul Washer in context, he is VERY clear on the wretched sinful nature of man. He states it over and over again and blatantly states we are only saved by grace and not by works.
Block me all you want and see if I care, Lane. Here's the deal with 1 John. John was not writing that to people who were struggling with assurance. He was writing it to people who ALREADY KNEW THE TRUTH (1 John 2:21). It'd be pretty hard to "know the truth" yet have uncertainty about the status of your salvation. I never said that 1 John didn't teach assurance. Every book in the Bible does. What I meant was that 1 John didn't coincide with Washer's idea of what to base assurance...(cont.)
Autumn6, we've discussed this before and you haven't addressed the points I gave on another video so I've removed these comments. I don't play favorites. Either you abide by the rules for commenting which include answering direct questions when you are asked and not make random assertions or you will be blocked from commenting further. I allow disagreement on here, but not someone just giving their opinion without answering direct questions like 1John teaching assurance.
I do NOT agree with everything that Andrew Bain says about Washer, but I DO agree that Washer teaches works-based salvation. Just go watch Washer's uber-heretical "Shocking Message". You talk about lies of the Devil! He teaches that believers can't have assurance until they're living a "holy life". He teaches people to base their assurance only on the holiness of their lifestyle. He horricfly perverts Matthew 7:14 to back up his false Gospel also by staying that "holy living" is the narrow way..
We've discussed this before, Autumn6. 1John teaches assurance by examining yourself to see if you're loving the brethren and other biblical tests. Either you deal with the issues here, or you will be blocked from commenting further.
Paul Washer does not say that you are saved by works but that that true salvation will have outward and inward evidence.
John the Baptist said this in Matthew 3:8. James points this out in his epistle. 1 John 2 & 3 teach this. Paul talks about it in Ephesians 2 and Romans 6 among others.
To say that no good works follow salvation is heresy. The eveidence of the new life is just that - a new life. How can you say you have repented of sin, if you just return to it like a dog to its vomit?
Agreed. If Andrew Bain quoted Paul Washer in context and could accurately critique what Washer ACTUALLY teaches, I'd have much more respect for him whether I agreed with him or not. Quoting out of context and bashing him for what he clearly does NOT teach is just plain stupid.
1 John did NOT teach ASSURANCE by obedience. Everybody gets that wrong. Washer teaches the heresy of self-righteous obvservation of one's own righteousness for assurance. No true Christian would EVER see himself as worthy of being saved or rejoice over his pathetic works. Like I said, it's tough for me to write this but I can' cosign this dude no more. I'll shoot you a PM and I'll point out to you all the other stuff I've no room to mention here. And NO I do NOT believe we've liscence to sin.
I think it would do well to mention the things you believe are heretical here because then they can be dealt with in a public fashion and those who are not familiar with these things can judge for themselves whether these things be true. If he's preaching heresy, it would be helpful for others to know what exactly that heresy is, and if he's preaching orthodox, it would be helpful for others to see that, as well. If you have any other comments regarding his theology, you can address them here.
"1 John did NOT teach ASSURANCE by obedience. Everybody gets that wrong."
Again, why? Merely because you assert it? This isn't substantial.
"No true Christian would EVER see himself as worthy of being saved or rejoice over his pathetic works."
Here's where I believe you are judging this like a Roman Catholic would. Paul does not preach justification by works. He preaches proof of justification by works. There's a WORLD of difference there. One does things to merit, the other as proof.
I talked to several Christians tonight who affirm that 1John along with James 2 teaches proof of justification and not merit for justification. They're real Christians.
Also, where is your address regarding "[Paul] also vehemently and constantly denies Romans 10:13." Where's your substantiation?
Look. It pains me to say this because I believe Washer to be very sincere. But he is a heretic preaching damnable heresies. Look, I will go ahead and say that yes, he does NOT preach salvation by works. However, he CLEARLY teaches ASSURANCE by works and "obedience". That we can gain assurance by seeing how good WE are and how holy we are compared to the "world". He also vehemently and constantly denies Romans 10:13. The man is a heretic. I used to co-sign him too. He's sincere, but wrong.
"Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his nature remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother."
In other words, if you continue to sin and you are not obedient to the law of God and have no desire to do so, you are not truly saved according to John. Was he a heretic? If you hold to your "logic", you'd have to condemn him, too. Paul Washer nor John taught salvation by obedience to the law, but they did teach that if you're not obedient to the law, have no desire to be, and continue sinning, you're not saved to begin with. It might not tickle your ears, but it's true.
Praise God! Ive listened to dozens upon dozens of Washer's sermons and I believe he is truly anointed by God and speaks the raw truth and presents the Gospel the way it should be presented. I pray for blind and deaf people like bain who twist others words and take everything out of context. God Bless
areopagus77...God bless you brother, keep defending the truth and building up our brother lawman308 in truth. Keep pressing on in your growth brother!
My sin - O the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part, but the whole Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more, Praise the Lord, Praise The Lord, O my soul! O Lord haste the day When the faith shall be sight. The clouds be rolled back as the scroll, The trump shall resound And the Lord shall descend Even so, it is well with my soul! It is well with my soul, It is well, it is well with my soul! (Horatio G Spafford - 1873) after hearing his 4 daughters drowned.
I rarely see Mr. Bain dealt with in a Christian way. perhaps I ought to look at his assailant's fruits. It would seem to me that his detractors have shown what they bear.
RedBeetle is right to say that the gospel is about imputation. Adam's sin has been imputed to all men. The sins of all who believe are imputed to Christ. The righteousness of Christ is imputed to the elect by faith alone. Do we esteem man or God? Do not be so quick to defend Washer as the doctrines of God.
Part#2 Justification is by the possession of "true" faith. Works are to faith what the body is to the spirit. I'm alive I have a pulse, I have faith because I have works, it's my evidence, my assurance that I have the saving faith
I like John 10:26 because He doesn't say "if you believe...". 27 is great too! I totally agree we every scripture in the Holy Bible. "hear my voice, I know them and they follow me?" both further my belief of the doctrine of Election. The Matthew 7, see the video repose above, and James, would say works faith without works is dead, but the works are evidence of the faith. Faith that yields no deeds is not saving faith. Justification is by the possession of
but rather a fearful expectation of judgement to those in the faith who continue in a sinful lifestyle. How far out of God's will can one go? "My sheep know my voice, hear it, and FOLLOW." The bible says the Lord will judge us. The words "Depart from me I never knew you." will haunt many. Faith w/o works is dead. If you believe it you'll do it, if you don't, you won't. Do what? Works, because they have faith. Why do fish swim? Because they have to. It's a necessary part of who they are.
Does a fish know he is wet? I like that one, but I think that Total Depravity! Paul Washer teaches that the "works" are a necessary evidence of the "new creature", there is a difference. I guarantee you that Washer would agree that once saved always saved. God will persevere us to the end, thank God for that, because I need the most work! We may sin for a season or two, but God will grind us to powder if he has to conform us to his image. The real worry is, if there is no discipline by God
The Bible is clear about the new creature. ie. once was a goat , now a sheep! Matt. 7 tells all! Please look at all sermons before making a ruling. This man will lead this nation in truth!!
He does teach salvation through faith, yet he also teaches as does the bible that "new creatures do new things", i.e. repentence plus good works. Clear warnings in the bible indicate that salvation can be lost, e.g. the bridesmaids and their oil, the grafting in, and cutting off of the vines, the lukewarm church, "I never knew you, Judas, and the warning about there no longer being a sacrifice for sin,
Andrew Bain is deliberately taking Pastors out of context, he is a prankster and a troll. It's very obvious.

Lets make things more clear for some that don't believe, there's no such thing as a barren, fruitless, carnal or hardcore christian. True followers of Christ yes indeed.
evomitzu 2 years ago
evomitzu"No such thing as a barren, fruitless, carnal or hardcore christian."
Others fail.
twospot7777777 2 years ago
@twospot7777777 You may see that as contracdiction, yes i do agree we are sinner's without a doubt. What he is saying is that if you are a true believer you would not want to remain sining againts God, if you know the truth you would not want to stay and follow the world. Yes we do fall into carnality we do have backslides and yes we do sin againts God. But as true believers we will NOT remain in that situation. If he said "babes in Christ" thats upon himself. not you nor myself.
evomitzu 2 years ago
@twospot7777777 For God did NOT call us to be impure. But live a Holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this intruction does not reject man but God. Who gives you his Holy Spirit. {1 Thessalonians 4:7} Now can you do anything without God? Ofcourse not. So how would you expect to change withouth him being in your life. You may be able to do his will but with comformity? As a true believer we are tought by Christ not man to love the narrow way without complaining. Why? Because we love Jesus Christ..
evomitzu 2 years ago
@twospot7777777 Now dear brother, i am not here to argue over this, rather to shed some light in this. I find no contracdictions in all of this. Perhaps you should pray in the Holy Spirit and read the scriptures. By no means i am againts you nor Paul. I take neither side but Christ he has shown me the truth not man. May God Bless you dear brother.
evomitzu 2 years ago
Here is the question. The first Salvation you can get saved and still be carnal and not care because i am saved. Just be hold accounted for and not get any treasures...Or second Salvation the one that Paul is preaching True believer by comforming to the regeneration of the Holy Spirit and staying holy loving God loving his commandments doing his will. {Or Not doing his will = eniquitis.} If you love Jesus Christ you would keep his commandments. So don't deny him by doing the work of the devil..

dnlcast2 2 years ago
I am not implying that i am a carnal christian, Thats what most christian in the churches would do, i just set an example of what the outcome is, when someone tells you, you have been saved by saying a single prayer. A true believer would bear fruit by the changes in his/her life, and you know he trully believes because of his/her deeds and changes, thank you dear brother for your concern. Well to be honest i desire God.and he is in heaven.. May God Bless you =)

I totally agree with Paul.
Jn 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
There are no other works we can do to be saved.
Any other "works" we do, we do it out of love towards Him, not for salvation, and because He asked us to (commanded us to).
In John 14:15 - Jesus said: if you love me, keep my commandments.
In Mat. 19:17 Jesus said: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
PatrickONB 2 years ago
#2 - there is one, and only one question to be asked about someone's salvation. IT is the same question that Jesus asked Peter - "WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM"... To add to that, is to make salvation something hard to attain... If your answer is anything but the same as what Peter's was, and you know this to be absolutely true, then there is only one way that you could have arrived at that answer, and that is through revelation from God, through His Spirit - read Matt. 16:17
Wunji1 2 years ago
Well, I certainly believe that Bain takes people out of context, but there are several issues wrong within this sermon by Washer. #1, we ARE righteous before God, not just "right". The Greek word Dikaioo means "to declare righteous", and if at some point you don't understand this, then read Romans 3:21-23. This "righteousness", NOT "right-ness" comes by faith in Jesus Christ. Imputed righteousness is righteousness no matter how you slice it... #2 - in another post...
Wunji1 2 years ago

We are counted righteous by our faith not our keeping of the law.
twospot7777777 2 years ago
StacyatLife 2 years ago 2
StacyatLife"All you lukewarm"Christians"
First of all, You do not know me personally or my walk with God. This is the problem with those who follow Paul Washer's teaching as they lead to being judgemental.
I never said to go out sinning but are righteousness is of the Lord and not by keeping commandments.
Are you a new christian? Follow great men like Scott Anderson and stop following Paul Washer if you want real truth.
God Bless,
twospot7777777 2 years ago
I do not need to "Know you personally" your contempt for God and His commandments are on You Tube for all to see. Your own words condemn you.
You teach that people do not have to accept the 10 commandments? That by any sane definition is Heresy and Blasphemy.
But who cares what I say...what did CHRIST say about his Commandments?
"Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 5:19).
StacyatLife 2 years ago 2
StacyatLife"You teach that people do not have to accept the 10 commandments?"
Why are you taking my comments out of context - We should obey the commandments but we are not saved by obeying them. Are righteousness is of Jesus Christ and not being Holy. If Holiness is a sign of true faith - How Holy do I have to be? How many times do I go to church? Please be specific on what a "Saved Christian" looks like?
twospot7777777 2 years ago
@twospot7777777 Faith without works is dead read 1 John 3 if you sin your of the devil and have not the love of God your a lukewarm temporary Christian that as Revelation 2 says he is going to spew our of his mouth and in John 15 he is going to cast you forth as a branch!
ProphecyofNewLight 2 years ago
Well nobody has to tell anyone to follow Jesus Christ, the scriptures say it all, you chose to follow Jesus Christ or not and obey him, totally up to that individual. However if a brother sins than correct him for his own good. I'm prety sure you wouldn't want your kids playing with a dirty needly they found right? You would correct them as well for there own good.
evomitzu 2 years ago
"Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance" would be the evidence of an inward righteousness. How would that qualify as works? The grace we are given results in a life that is transformed by the indwelling of the Spirit. Anyone working for their Salvation void of the Spirit is disqualified. Its only works righteousness when one depends on works rather than Christ for his right standing. Christ working through us is righteousness. Those who dont bear fruit are cut down and put into the fire.
bigbadwolff1 2 years ago 2
By no means Paul is preaching the works salvation if you see more of his preaching you would see is not what you think it is. He is saying that a true believer would change bear fruit and not remain in the sinful state of this world, as many would remaning and being mold by the world. He speks of the regenration of the Holy Spirit which you have trully believe changing your life gradually. If you have a reltionship with Jesus Christ you would have a new one with sin. God Bless dear friend..
evomitzu 2 years ago
evomitzu:"a true believer would change."
Please be specific of what a "Saved Christian" is? What do I need to do to show to myself that I have true faith?
Salvation is by Jesus alone and it is a gift. If just repenting(Turn from evil ways) was required for salvation to know that I am a true christian - Why did Jesus die on the cross?
twospot7777777 2 years ago
@twospot7777777 no it is by God giving you salvation of his grace but he requires you to repent Jesus said if any man come after me he must deny himself and take up his cross.you must die to your self and live Christ surrender in prayer to the will of God!

Washer's messages are biblically sound. But that's an understatement--his message IS the Bible's message.
People have been so misled recently. They've been sold a "prosperity" bill of goods & the notion of "carnal Christianity."
In this lukewarm fog, the fact that we're not saved by works comforts them, cause they don't HAVE any works.
So when someone comes along & takes a flame-thrower to the theory they can get to Heaven w/out being changed, it really rattles their cage.

(cont.)
duio 3 years ago
My opinion, is that Mr. Bain is desperately defending what he believes to be his salvation probably imposed on him by the "evangelical hoops". He has excelled in intellect to better debate his "salvation" for his own comfort. A parallel thought would be to state that no one would want to accept that their loved one is in Hell, Bain would probably fight to the bitter end to defend a parent or siblings salvation upon death based on infant baptism if faced with it.
keithman76 3 years ago
(cont.) From looking at the Old Testament alone, we would have no reason to think that sinful Lot was a believer; yet, 2nd Peter 2:7 calls Lot a "just" man. The Lordship Salvation crowd would have considered all of these men unsaved. Yet, we see they were saved.
duio 3 years ago
How come you have no new testament believer's except pre-pentecost Peter? lolz duio a christian is certainly not a sinless human being but he is regenerated, taught of God, and is sanctified progressively, Simil Justus Et Pecator as Luther coined it, however when you received Jesus Christ, did you receive his upper torso only, did you receive only half of him or as He really is, if He is Lord how can you receive him partially as just Savior? Did you believe in Him only as Savior?
djkamilo 3 years ago

(cont).
duio 3 years ago
wow duio, you're a sad case!!!no wonder you're a 'King James only' guy, first of all the CHANGE is not brought up by the person but by the holy spirit, it's called 'regeneration' (and yeah it's not only on the King James Bible but even on the NIV, lolz), Brother Paul is a calvinist a five pointer at that, in no way he believes in salvation by works but that works are the fruits of a saved individual, get your facts right before attacking anybody else....

I and everyone here should pray for his salvation.

people can be ignorant and say...its just the grace of God..i believe the bible says its by grace alone to let us know, when we're still in sin,he made the sacrifice, and even with our sinful nature,we cant be saved(we r depraved)here comes the grace of God..FREE...and then what? we will NEVER be the same..if God did a work in us,,,how can we not show the new us through our works? c'mon people...why do u hurt if u feel judged? maybe u have something u need to change...this is for the best of us...
jpscotcch 3 years ago
Why do people judge others. Do you not realize that your trying to do Gods job. He doesnt need you to judge for him I believe God is comppletely capable of doing his job now do yours. If you truly believe you will fear God and obey his commandements. It doesnt matter what you think about others what matters is are you doing what your suppose to be doing?
jeremywapachee 3 years ago
Do you hold that Jesus doesn't want us to judge others?
LaneCh 3 years ago
Its not your job your job is to tell people the truth. When you judge others you bring an argument. Your not suppose to argue bewcaue you know the truth you simply tell them the truth and if they want to argue or dont want to listen just pray for them. Thats all you can do.
jeremywapachee 3 years ago
How do you explain the passages in Acts about Paul debating (or arguing) for Jesus against the pagan gods of that era? Also, let me just make this as clear as I can:
You say in regards to judging: "It's not your job..."
Jesus says in regards to judging: "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." (John 7:24)
Here, obviously, you contradict Jesus. Who do you hold people should listen to - you or God?
LaneCh 3 years ago
How does this man take the bible out of context? Is he a false prophet? is he preaching something that contradicts the bible? Then why do you judge him?
jeremywapachee 3 years ago
Let's stick to the topic you started initially since it was you who started it and have been shown that you're in error: You say not to judge, Jesus says to use righteous judgment; who should people listen to - you or God? It's a very simple question; we'd just like to know your stance on this.
LaneCh 3 years ago
who says said he not righteous?
jeremywapachee 3 years ago

You shall know them by their fruit.
bobtellsitlikeitis 3 years ago

It makes sense that when a man like Paul Washer comes with a Godly message that causes people to truly repent and be saved, that Satan would also rise up instruments like Andrew Bain that he can use to distort the truth like he's always done.

Godcorpusa 3 years ago
If you actually listen to Paul Washer in context, he is VERY clear on the wretched sinful nature of man. He states it over and over again and blatantly states we are only saved by grace and not by works.
PoBoyX 3 years ago
Block me all you want and see if I care, Lane. Here's the deal with 1 John. John was not writing that to people who were struggling with assurance. He was writing it to people who ALREADY KNEW THE TRUTH (1 John 2:21). It'd be pretty hard to "know the truth" yet have uncertainty about the status of your salvation. I never said that 1 John didn't teach assurance. Every book in the Bible does. What I meant was that 1 John didn't coincide with Washer's idea of what to base assurance...(cont.)
Autumn6 3 years ago
"I never said that 1 John didn't teach assurance."
Earlier you said, "1 John did NOT teach ASSURANCE by obedience. Everybody gets that wrong."

LaneCh 3 years ago
I do NOT agree with everything that Andrew Bain says about Washer, but I DO agree that Washer teaches works-based salvation. Just go watch Washer's uber-heretical "Shocking Message". You talk about lies of the Devil! He teaches that believers can't have assurance until they're living a "holy life". He teaches people to base their assurance only on the holiness of their lifestyle. He horricfly perverts Matthew 7:14 to back up his false Gospel also by staying that "holy living" is the narrow way..
ChrisReeves1230 3 years ago
We've discussed this before, Autumn6. 1John teaches assurance by examining yourself to see if you're loving the brethren and other biblical tests. Either you deal with the issues here, or you will be blocked from commenting further.
LaneCh 3 years ago
Paul Washer does not say that you are saved by works but that that true salvation will have outward and inward evidence.
John the Baptist said this in Matthew 3:8. James points this out in his epistle. 1 John 2 & 3 teach this. Paul talks about it in Ephesians 2 and Romans 6 among others.
To say that no good works follow salvation is heresy. The eveidence of the new life is just that - a new life. How can you say you have repented of sin, if you just return to it like a dog to its vomit?
solabiblia 3 years ago 2
Agreed. If Andrew Bain quoted Paul Washer in context and could accurately critique what Washer ACTUALLY teaches, I'd have much more respect for him whether I agreed with him or not. Quoting out of context and bashing him for what he clearly does NOT teach is just plain stupid.
PoBoyX 3 years ago 4
1 John did NOT teach ASSURANCE by obedience. Everybody gets that wrong. Washer teaches the heresy of self-righteous obvservation of one's own righteousness for assurance. No true Christian would EVER see himself as worthy of being saved or rejoice over his pathetic works. Like I said, it's tough for me to write this but I can' cosign this dude no more. I'll shoot you a PM and I'll point out to you all the other stuff I've no room to mention here. And NO I do NOT believe we've liscence to sin.
Autumn6 3 years ago
I think it would do well to mention the things you believe are heretical here because then they can be dealt with in a public fashion and those who are not familiar with these things can judge for themselves whether these things be true. If he's preaching heresy, it would be helpful for others to know what exactly that heresy is, and if he's preaching orthodox, it would be helpful for others to see that, as well. If you have any other comments regarding his theology, you can address them here.
LaneCh 3 years ago
"1 John did NOT teach ASSURANCE by obedience. Everybody gets that wrong."
Again, why? Merely because you assert it? This isn't substantial.
"No true Christian would EVER see himself as worthy of being saved or rejoice over his pathetic works."
Here's where I believe you are judging this like a Roman Catholic would. Paul does not preach justification by works. He preaches proof of justification by works. There's a WORLD of difference there. One does things to merit, the other as proof.
LaneCh 3 years ago
I talked to several Christians tonight who affirm that 1John along with James 2 teaches proof of justification and not merit for justification. They're real Christians.
Also, where is your address regarding "[Paul] also vehemently and constantly denies Romans 10:13." Where's your substantiation?
LaneCh 3 years ago
Autumn6 3 years ago
Paul Washer is not a heretic. John taught assurance by obedience, too:
LaneCh 3 years ago
"Little children, let no man deceive you: he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God does not commit sin; for his nature remains in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
LaneCh 3 years ago
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother."
(1Jn 3:7-10)
LaneCh 3 years ago
In other words, if you continue to sin and you are not obedient to the law of God and have no desire to do so, you are not truly saved according to John. Was he a heretic? If you hold to your "logic", you'd have to condemn him, too. Paul Washer nor John taught salvation by obedience to the law, but they did teach that if you're not obedient to the law, have no desire to be, and continue sinning, you're not saved to begin with. It might not tickle your ears, but it's true.
LaneCh 3 years ago
"He also vehemently and constantly denies Romans 10:13."
Explain that and do not merely assert it with no substantiation.

It's a necessary part of who they are.
plalelal 3 years ago
Does a fish know he is wet? I like that one, but I think that Total Depravity! Paul Washer teaches that the "works" are a necessary evidence of the "new creature", there is a difference. I guarantee you that Washer would agree that once saved always saved. God will persevere us to the end, thank God for that, because I need the most work! We may sin for a season or two, but God will grind us to powder if he has to conform us to his image. The real worry is, if there is no discipline by God
EZEKIEL3622 3 years ago

He does teach salvation through faith, yet he also teaches as does the bible that "new creatures do new things", i.e. repentence plus good works. Clear warnings in the bible indicate that salvation can be lost, e.g. the bridesmaids and their oil, the grafting in, and cutting off of the vines, the lukewarm church, "I never knew you, Judas, and the warning about there no longer being a sacrifice for sin,
