actually, there is no known culture which has consumed more slaves than the islamic. the peoples of east europe is named slavs. the english word slave is from them. between 20-40 million where taken to slavemarkets in the muslim world... the greatest genocide in world history was that of the arabs who conqured india. over 10 centuries the conservative estimate is that 100 million died. the only nations in the world where slavery is still legal are muslim. millions live in slavery today.

Historically, the biggest source of white slaves for the Islamic world was not Western Europe but Eastern Europe. The muslims did not create this, they inherited this practice from the ancient world. Hence, the etymology of the words: Slav and slave. Today 'white slavery' is still present in the eastern block.
