I heard one day someone broke into his car and someone stole all his sheet music out of the back seat. If true, how terrible especailly since it wasn't worth anything to the crook. Has anyone heard this story?
I'm very sorry for the passing of this great jazz accordionist. I'm sure he'll be missed by all of fans. I like to thank Mr. Heinz Siemens for giving us all the opportunity to see some of Art's videos.
I met Art Van Damme once in America and once at Castelfidardo Italy and I can say that he was a superb jazz accordionist. It is too bad that artists like him don't live to be two hundred years old.
I meet Art Van Damme in Harstad in Norway in the end of 1970 and in Sweden in middle of 1980.
Hi was my idol in the accordionjazzmusic.

I'm thankful I was able to see him live in a club in Falls Church, Va. back in 1979. I'll never forget it. RIP Art, I'll miss you.
