The rank that Mika gives you at the end is determined by how well you play through the game (i.e. choosing right dialogue options, avoiding too many saves, selecting the proper course of action). The available ranks (from highest to lowest) are: General, Colonel, Major, Captain, and Second Lieutenant. Aside from different dialogue, there's no real consequence for the ranks other than a test of your skill.

The highest I have ever received is Colonel. You also need perfect scores at the shooting range and all the shooting segments in the game as well.

Well, Random does not sneeze at any point in the game, so Gillian saying he's heard it before is pretty awkward. I'd say it's Napoleon, if anything.

great series! another amazing production from the legendary Konami. then ending had melancholy added to it, but it still was a good ending. now whenever i play Metal Gear Online, i play the Snatcher theme song to help me remember the epicness of this game.

Even if it wasn't an out and out sequel, something along the lines of this whole detective in a near future thing (a-la bladerunner etc...) would be awesome.

Awesome, I'd heard about this game after playing Metal Gear Solid on PSX back in the day, but living in Barbados it's pretty hard to get copies of these rare games, so thnks 4 uploading everything, was sweet seein another Kojima game. Hope the rumors are true about that remake he's supposedly doin with Suda 51.
