Usually it doesnt matter because compared to mercedes G and Pajero the axel have a good crossing-ability (dont know if this is the right english word). However in this case it does matter! Buy the landy rear diff-locks and he will go up this hill

i have Y60 2.8T (116PS) and i never cross 3.000 RPM when im ride in rly HARD terrain like for stock cars i mean motocross track's , or mudding terrain when i put on transmission 4L i have so much power Patrol can go for 40% hill on 4 gear with 3.000 RPM with 4 peaople inside (mine tyers "Discovery" M/S 255/75 15")
+ this guy didnt cross this rock cuz he is good driver, its just patrol is good car
the patrol is not better than the defender, but the driver is. a 110 would be better. try using the small gear lever and engage diff lock.

I have a friend who has one and reckoned he could go anywhere I could in my Defender 110 and he has a LWB patrol!!
He did get some of the places i went until he was climbing up an steep drop and blew up his gearbox.......i had to tow him home much to my amusement!!

If the Patrol does have a rear diff-lock then it's a MASSIVE advantage here.
I'm a defender driver myself, but that Patrol was impressive!
