@deathboy126 You can use the Gamecube controller if you want. I don't know if the contorls are the same asin Double Dash, however, as I've only used the Wii Wheel.
How do you get a Star, is it completing everyone Grand Prix (50cc, 100cc, 150cc, mirror mode) or getting one star in a certain event. I was also thinking it was getting a certain amount of expert staff ghost but that doesn't make sence. Also what are the advantages of having it set to manual or the other one, what's it called..... I don't remember but what are the advantages of the two? Or is one for pros and one for novices?
You get a star ranking when you achieve at least that rank in every Mario Grand Prix in every engine class. It takes a while, and nothing good really comes of it: It puts a big target mark on your back for everyone else to aim their Red Shells and Spiny Shells at.
Automatic eliminates mini-turbos but allows you to steer very precisely. I don't know what it is, but there's something about it that allows an Automatic user to keep up with a Manual user.
I guess it's unlikely considering how much money would be lost in making it. Seeing as how many people use bikes it may be a side game like "Mario Dirt Bike" or something, it's something to think about. :)
Also I have noticed an increas in people with ranking above 7000, I have 6896 currently and plan on getting to 7000. There has also been an increas in people that don't even race or just sit in there kart at the starting line. It might be a lag.
Okay, one last thing. If you have a golden wheel AND a star or 2 or 3, then how would it show them all up? Would it squeeze them in the small gap after your name or do just the star(s) or just the wheel?
When you get a ranking of at least 1 Star and you have the Golden Wii Wheel, both show up. The Stars show up on top of the Wii Wheel. The next MKW video is about to show up; you can see me with the 1-Star ranking and the Wii Wheel.
In Mario Kart Wii, Moonview Highway is the ONLY traffic course. Every traffic course with traffic going in both directions so far have been with the cars on the left side of the road, however, since that's the way Japanese roads are like.
I love moonview highway. I win against just about anyone on the stage. You should watch the world record and learn how to use the boost pads for maximum speed. If you know how, from the first toll booth to the second, you can practically boost the entire way.
Yeah, I've picked it up since through my own observations. It's still a very risky move, however, since you're going the opposite direction through traffic on a blind turn.
I choose not to watch world records because it's more fun for me to discover things about the tracks on my own. I don't have the Mario Kart Wii Channel anyway, as I don't have a steady internet connection for WiiConnect24.
The Mii is a character you unlock; it'll take the form of whatever Mii you've assigned your save file to. All other Miis just show up as decoration and don't really do anything.
It's a lot harder to use than a wheelie, that's for sure. I predict that in the long run, karts are going to plow their way through the scene and mingle completely with the bikes. At least...when there are enough people who have mastered the Super Mini-Turbo to keep up with and maybe surpass the top bike users.
That cool thing that you were doing on the halfpipe at 06:40, I recently discovered that yesterday while viewing a champion's Time Trial record at DK Summit (aka DK's Snowboard Cross). That ghost was also using this quirk with the inward halfpipes for some unreal cornering.
Moonview Highway is one of my favorite courses, but also one of the most frustrating when you get squirted with a Blooper's ink. When you're in a high enough ranking for it to cover most of the screen, you're almost guaranteed to be run over.
Some pretty neat Mii cameos are in there, too. (For example, Cleopatra's head in place of Peach's, or the Chuck Norris Fire Flower...what an interesting power-up that would make for...)
I didn't notice Mario's head on the moon either. I really should just hang there for a while and see for myself. I had just noticed the Miis at the checkpoints.
The other day, when I went online to test out the Honeycoupe, the first race I took part in was Delphino Square. I was Waluigi, and there was another Waluigi player in a kart as well. The rest of the players were bikers. Both Waluigis took 1st and 2nd (I was 2nd) while the bikers were left to lose at their own track. Just thought I'd share that story. It was a rather fun and memorable race.
For some reason, Moonview Highway always makes me feel tense. I've gotten used to the traffic and everything, but it's still hard to relax on that track because you're really pressured to never let your guard down no matter how far ahead you are. It's a very intense track.
And to your comment about Waluigi Stadium being harder than Mario Circuit...OMG, I KNOW! Sorry about that, but GCN Mario Circuit really pisses me off. I never seem to do well there. Waluigi Stadium's fun but repetitive.
That's pretty neat. Among a few of the races I had two nights ago, I also found a pretty strong kart user. I get the feeling that people are starting to learn how the Super Mini-Turbos work and that bike users are losing their foothold because of this.
I don't understand why N64 DK's Jungle Parkway and GCN Mario Circuit was put where they were. They seem pretty tame compared to Desert Hills and Bowser's Castle 3.
i love Mario kart for wii! i have a wii that's in the pawn shop but i don't have mario kart for wii yet

Can you play this game with the NGC controller cause the controls are the same as in DD or not?

Do you use the Wii Wheel for Time Trials?
PkmnArseus10 3 years ago
I did, and I have just 3 more, Bowser's Castle, DDR, and RR for Expert Ghosts. I used Daisy on Mach Bike.

And, this might sound silly, but can you trail back items behind you, because you couldn't in MKDS?
JoeAlexTilley 3 years ago
Yes, you can. It doesn't sound silly at all, since it was disabled in MKDS.
It does present a pretty big problem that only the Blue Shell can solve, however.
As for the Golden Wheel, you get it when you fulfill these three conditions:
1. You've raced against at least 100 people.
2. At least 50% of your races used the Wheel.
3. Your last race used the Wheel.
Overhazard 3 years ago
Okay, thanks for clearing that up.

I still don't understand it's GCN instead of NGC. Can someone explain me why is that so?
JRSP20Draw 3 years ago
The initials NGC were already taken by the Neo-Geo Color. Nintendo couldn't use it.
Overhazard 3 years ago
Oh thanks for that one Overhazard.

I should try that on DK Summit then. It looks like the angle you'd launch at is pretty important, since the snow covers some of the halfpipe edges.

Heh, I noticed that the person playing as Rosalina during Waluigi Stadium was named "Missy Piggy".

How did you avoid the POW? :o
bleunt 3 years ago
If you're riding a bike, you start a wheelie right befor the POW Block hits. If you're driving a kart, you pretend to do a wheelie.
Overhazard 3 years ago
As I've been going around, it's more like doing any trick motion. Doing the wheelie motion in mid air causes a trick also.
Prolink 3 years ago
Well, That and be in the air...

I love Desert Hills myself.
I was put off of BC3 by an unfortunate pairing of 3 Blue Shells in the same lap, two of which knocked me into lava, and thus losing.
DK's Jungle Parkway is my favourite, save GCN Peach Beach, and I just cannot abide any (character) Circuit courses.
