Hey, Richard! Yes, it's not easy to sing, and cry at the same time! Lol! I was meaning to sing it straight, but was just getting over a past relationship, so it kind of got to me as I went along. I decided to keep it as it is, because, afterall, Jacques Brel, the writer of this song, his version is the most famous of them all, and it was full of emotion, too, so it seemed to fit perfectly. You should check out his version! It's wonderful. So sad, but wonderful! :)
