  • Laugh if you want. The bottom line is, if you were actually willing to listen to the points he made, he kicked the TBOE's ass. To which they responded, "Lol".

The problem is that the board thinks they are all powerful and that these hearings are all charade.

I feel what the TBOE is doing is deliberately mischievous and criminal charges should be brought against them.

Contributing to the delinquency of a state full of minors.

    ~Thumbs up if you agree.

  • The Texas board of education is filled with idiots and creationists.

  • Question: Why is everybody saying that he's going too fast? I can understand him quite well as he is speaking. Or is it just me? LOL

  • TX is in deep doodoo having board memebers like that old woman who's response was more laughter than content.

  • Listen to the scumbags laughing at the citizen, "Look at him, he thinks we have representative government, how quaint." You know its what their thinking.

  • America, if you let this happen.......you will help send your country back into the dark ages.

Unbiased truth, education and forward thinking is the only way to give are children a chance to think for themselves and be successful human beings.

All the best of luck from the UK

  • @Redpilldown Everyone needs to get out of state schools, they indoctrinate you and misrepresent their opposition, I came out of high school a socialist, then I learned about the American Revolution and economics ONLINE THROUGH YOUTUBE and learned 100X more then all that time I was tortuously forced to be in school and immediately became a libertarian.

  • i think he's reading too fast..

  • Been covered already, 3 minute opening limit.

  • I commend you, sir. What you are doing is what America is really about, civic involvement, and speaking out against things that are wrong with the system. Not letting schools pander to corporations or special interest groups.

  • The fact that you said all of that THAT FAST-- kudos

    *****

Also, we need people like you in Wisconsin!

  • I know when I first heard how fast the man was speaking, I thought he was on a timer, and when it was up they'd just rudely brush him aside. The laughter of the board was very disrepectful behavior that should not be practiced by a supposedly professional group, not to mention that it's not going to build any trust with the populace.

  • we need more people like him in oklahoma.. I mean outside of oklahoma city and tulsa. Students really are taught to be super conservatives.. while if you're from OKC, or Tulsa. you learn to just get your college degree and then get out of oklahoma XD as fast as possible.

  • Master Card wrote the economics course? hahahahahahah

  • standing up to the texas board = good. Walking into a professional setting with such a unprofessional haircut = stupid..

  • My hairstyle has nothing to do with, and no bearing on my testimony. I've worn it the way I choose for my whole life, I feel no appropriateness or obligation to make such a drastic physical change for the 10 minutes I'd be standing in front of the board. It also has never hindered me in the past 10 years I've run my professional business. I am a successful creative professional. Probably because I choose to be individual, and not a conformist robot.

  • You sir, are a fucking hero. When I heard your testimony I couldnt believe it. Thankyou for actually standing up for the truth.

  • Thank you! I absolutely hate how clothes that allow me to feel comfortable and do my work comfotably are considered "unprofessional", particularly when I'm wearing a comfortable sweater instead of a constraining button-down dress shirt. If my female co-workers could do it, I should have been allowed to do so as well.

  • actually could you not tell people the secret to success.. Because I'm really banking on that XD.. OF course its successful for those who make their own choices in life such as yourself, but remember. Most people don't take control of their life. SOme think if you work hard and get into a multinational and work your way up through their corporate structure then you are successful. Of course sacrificing everything else. XD I think there are other ways. YOu have found one of them :D

  • Society's inexplicable addiction to a focus on the trivial superficial is a distraction from what really matters. Peace, love and liberty.

  • It is, but that still doesnt change the fact that almost everyone in that room was probably more focused on your hair then your words. You can play that "Im gonna be me and do what I want" all you want, but when you step into the professional world, if you want to get stuff done that means playing ball.

  • Being me and expressing my individual nature has worked wonders for my professional career for a long time. So, I disagree with your theory. If it works for you, cool.

  • @realm9moralmarketing First impressions are just that. First impressions. You blew em away! After you began talking; they didn't even notice your haircut. Who cares! You wore a shirt and tie an looked clean and well groomed. You were definitely taken seriously.

  • @TheMysteriousAtheist Yea your argument is what is stupid buddy. This isn't an office-building, it's a governmental agency. That means that it is supposed to be working for the citizens regardless of whether or not he has a rainbow colored 3 foot long mo-hawk and hes only wearing a grass skirt. If you think I'm being unrealistic, well that may be true, but you are pandering to bigoted idiots, which only inspires more people to become bigoted idiots.

  • @TheMysteriousAtheist You fail.

  • keep it up! your voice will bring attention to an issue that affects us all.

  • Both of them are stupid cunts.

  • We hold these truths to be self evident - that all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, that among those are the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Now someone please find an 8th grader and tell me if they can understand what I just said, cuz to me its really damn simple.

I think its insulting to say that a 14 year old can grasp that because they're "not smart enough".

  • I know, how insulting to the students, especially when the average 14-year-old today has a higher level education than the average adult from the days of the beginnings of this country.

  • Great speech!

  • They tried to imply the theoretical Amero is legitimate!!??

    Wtf? It is pure conspiracy!

  • Hey great job standing up to that board. Please keep it up. Know that people all over the US support ya.

  • AAAAAAAAAAH.

    PAUSE!

    EMPHASIZE!

Oh.. 3 minutes.. he did his best.

  • The education doesn't wan't to teach they want to look educated. Jealousy should be enough to make people want to learn is their goal for learning. That is just my opinion at looking at texts that are to teach fresh minds with ancient rhetoric. To have to explain how to teach to an education system should be enough of a sign that shows they don't care. It's just a job people. Quit breeding in ignorance. Novels written and times forgotten and all were adhered to by the downtrodden.

  • well done, good man.

  • Why is he speed reading? Does he not want to be listened to?

  • @ProtagonistNonTheist .. I had to fit my opening statement into 3 minutes.

  • @ProtagonistNonTheist There are time constraints for public speakers in town councils, board of education meetings, etc.

  • What the crap Texas? What the crap?

  • These rednecks are unbearable.

I truly hope the Russians don't give up their nuclear arsenal yet...

  • quite frankly Justin, you should be sitting on the other side of the bench. i would vote for you

  • Great jo on this speech though I wish you would have read slower so that this could sink into the thick heads of some of those on the board.

  • Me too. I wish I had an hour to really speak about the issues in depth. They only give each individual 3 minutes to open before they ring the bell. Then, you answer any questions. Then you go away. A few hundred people do that throughout the day, and these meetings happen once every 10 years to accept direct public input on Texas Social Studies curriculum.

  • Well said

  • This is fucked up. They aren't taking him seriously at all. Don't they realize this is a problem???

  • Comon' , Texas. We can do better :D

  • people must know about this
