brainwashed americans entering a useless war, whats new? haha. i heard pat tilman was killed by a friendly fire, such a sad way to be killed. how can the u.s. military kill its own people? such a cold blooded people. yup, just like what they did in 9/11, inside job. shame shame :(
@sawdudeful eat a dick, eat a whole bag of them. Corporal Tillman had more love for this country and understanding for his fellow man in his piss then you will ever have. The least you can do when your talking shit on him and his brother, and yes you are and you know it, is spell his fucking name correctly and capitalize the first letter in his name or is the strain on your hand too much to hit the shift button before you hit the t. Eat my 82nd Airborne ass you loser.
its so sad how so many americans are brainwashed. why do they think entering a useless war is going to make them a "hero"? how is figthing for "freedom" done outside of their land? such a shame with this country's militarism.
@sawdudeful you are an idiot. you're just a pussy that is too scared to ever take a chance on life. Who are you? oh that's right it doesn't matter because you have not accomplished anything in life.
@sawdudeful i have family and family in the military. I will be in the military. You making a mockery of our corps and what we live through daily makes you scum. If you have never experienced it, then shut your mouth. It's people like you that we are ashamed to put our lives on the line to protect. If you don't like the system, get your ass on out of the country and move some place else and pray that you don't end up face to face with me while on the battlefield.
@CrazybeatsFire1217 lol "put our lives on the line to protect", haha protect what? why is the u.s. fighting for in the middle east? huh? now, im not against the military, im against the war this country is fighting in right now. so you have family members that served in the military, but you as a individual never have? " If you have never experienced it, then shut your mouth." yea exactly right back you, poser. haha go play some call of duty you soldier wannabe.
Pat Tilman poor guy died for absolutely nothing, Look USA is back at the table negotiating with Taliban, were they not supposed to get rid of them? A precious life wasted on a war that had no end right from the beginning.
@volcanictruth I know the second The tilman clip came up I was thinking, wtf fuck this stupid american goverment. Foreign policy is messed up. died for nothing & did he even realise it? I think more troops needs to spend more time understanding a war before entering it.
@volcanictruth Fuck off dude you don't even have the common courtesy to know how to spell this "poor guy's" last name correctly. I would spit in your face and bite your fucking nose off if I knew where you were. AND NO I AM NOT FUCKING JOKING.
@mrrossn Oh my God, I am scared !!! my hands are shaking, wow what are you a 'keyboard warrior'? You come online to check if people have spelled correctly? What are you a retired English teacher with no life. Go out more, the couch is starting to give up and cannot handle your obese size. Put down the milkshake and the burger and start typing now, cos I know this is the only thing you are good at.
You know what's really funny. Pat Tillman didn't want all of that publicity after his death. He had one wish, that his motivation for enlisting be kept private. He didn't want a public funeral. unfortunately we could not respect that wish in the wake of his death. that's what gives me goosebumps. may he rest in peace.
An old, arthritic, forgotten James J. Braddock defeating Max Baer for the heavyweight championship of the world after being away from boxing for years and suffering in the poverty of the Great Depression.
They keep selling the fact that Pat Tillman died a war hero to the American public. A good way to recruit the average John Doe to the army so that they can suffer the same fate, believing its a worthy cause- without them realising that they have been CONNED. Its better than any Nike or Coca cola advert- its pure brainwashing
@MrThe1messiah You don't deserve to breath the same air that Tillman or I share. You only exist because people like Pat and I have suffered so you can be an a**hole and degrade us.
My comment may not have been really fair on those who have suffered in wars because those that have, are invariably convinced that they have done the right thing. Unfortunately nothing is going to change my opinion that its the biggest fraud since the senseless Vietnam war in the 70s where the public begged for the troops to come home. Really sad! But America will keep selling the war-hero stories just like Al Qaeda sell their hero suicide missions to delusional Muslim kids
@MrThe1messiah well, your opinion would be the same as theirs if you had fought in a war.and you too, would be offended.so quit being an undeserving little @ss and shut up.

This is typical American TV. All the bullcrap they talk about the East indoctrinating there citizens and the 'land of the free' shite is completely contradicted here. Only showing US moments and ignoring the rest of the world as if it doesn't matter and the US is the only country who has any idea about how to inspire and create glorious moments. It's like when they call that baseball tournament the 'World Series'; bullshit it's the USA series... USA is not the world, not even close...

@weisscold94 my point is that whoever wins the european championship is generally regarded as the best football/soccer team in the world and yet they are still regarded european champions and nothing else (formally at least)... on the other hand, whoever wins the Baseball equivalent has won the world series and is regarded the world champion. @MsStrawberries98 Hmm, I think you've missed the point of what inspirational means... beating someone you were having a conflict with at their national sport isn't inspirational for me. It might be for you, but I'd hope not.
LOL love all these hockey haters, if you can't see why the 1980 Miracle is #1 you either don't know much about history, are not from the U.S or just hate hockey. Their American sports moments because its an American show with an American audience. They would much rather see these than sports moments that they had never heard of before.
@mandy26lez so you think a man beating cancer and winning probably the most difficult cycling race in the world and a man helping end racial segregation in baseball are both cheap? I'm dying to know what you think is more deserving...
The reason Pat Tillman and Lance Armstrong's moments have a more emotional impact on you guys is because it happened during your lifetime, you felt the emotions as it happened, you remember it vividly... Gehrig's moment is etched in history because of the medical impact and the quote he gives, so the emotional part doesn't have to be felt... The same goes for Jackie Robinson, the historical value is so great, the actual emotions don't have to be powerful to send that chill down your spine...
Wow! Tillman third?! really?! Fought and died for his country despite being able to enjoy a life of luxury in the NFL and he's third?! I'm not even American and still there is a problem there.
@TheBigjoe6 Actually miracle on ice was more than just an underdog pulling a david and goliath! The US was in a critical moment, insecurity shadowed what once had been a great nation, financially the Americans were at their worst in a century and the Russians were taking over everything including all Americans sense of patriotism. It was capitalism vs comunism and national pride in and our of the rink at stake..more than a hockey match! :-)
what about the rest of the englsh and americans which have died in afghanistan? yeah he might have been a pro nfl player but why should he get special acknowledgement.
It's because he was somebody famous that gave up their dream for the better good. It sets an example for everybody else. Nobody is downplaying everybody else that has sacrificed.
Considering that this show was on an American Sports channel, why is it so surprising that they are all American sports. I am sure that if I watched a show like this in Europe, it would all be European sports.
@deadlyharborseal The title is incorrect, it should say "Top 5 Inspirational Sports moments" so that narrows it to sports only. The list is incomplete so if you find a way to look at the full list mabey you'll find some on other countries. The show is always produced in the United states so viewers naturally want to see U.S Moments. The same goes for other countries, they show moments about their history.
indeed. What about Liverpool - Milan. Champions League final in football a.k.a Soccer. Liverpool were the underdogs. Milan huges favorites. Milan led in halftime with 3-0. Then the liverpool crowed sang like they never sang before. You'll never walk alone. And then end of a storm there's a sweet golden sky. Liverpool scored 3 goals and won the game on penalties. My 2nd on this list. Number one is miracle on ice
@deadlyharborseal Well YouTube is run by a US company after all. There are other options on the internet and you're certainly free to create your own video and post it here or elsewhere.
Where do you propose an American should post their video about their own country?
Some people are just plain dense. I lived in Central Asia for 4 years. Was I going around complaining that all they had on TV was stuff about Uzbekistan?
@ShoMePussy Back then Olympic rules stated that professional ice hockey players couldn't compete in the Olympics. The US team had to recruit college players while the USSR cheated their pro players into the Olympics. Some of the greatest hockey players of all time played on that team, tretiak, petrov and fetisov to name a few.
how is miracle on ice number 1 i know it was a massive upset and all but tillman risked his life for his country armstrong overcame cancer and won 7 tours they have to be more inspirational
@TheBigjoe6 It was exactly what they said... the Cold War on a hockey rink. It wasn't just an upset, there were nuclear threats, tensions were the highest they'd ever been between America and Russia, communism was raging through the Far East... this was a victory for the entire country, not just the men that laced up skates.
Absolute respect to Pat Tillman though, you will forever be in my heart. What a guy.
@TheBigjoe6 It was more than an upset. It was the equivalent of a low ranking Division 1 team beating a Pro team. Helps that it was during the Cold War, giving Americans hope that nothing is too steep. Just overall triumph through work and sweat, tears and blood. Plus it was the Russians, and that puts it in a special place in our hearts
@TheBigjoe6 You have to understand who we beat we beat the soviet union in the Olympics for hockey a sport at which they ruled in at the time and we came out with a victory when everyone doubted it and said it would not happen
@TheBigjoe6 At the time, the Miracle on Ice was so meaningful because it was during the Cold War. It meant everything to the moral of an economically flopping and WW3 scared country for a team of amateurs to beat a team full of Soviet pros. I understand where you are coming from, but I doubt you took the time to consider the context of the Miracle on Ice when making your comment.
All you need to do is watch the clip it tells it all. Tillman and Armstrong are heros in my book especailly Tillman because i wear a uniform to of the armed forces. All those stories could be number one.
@TheBigjoe6 i think in this video there is pretty good explanation why miracle on ice is number 1, because at that time there was very big tension between USA and soviets, and they were competing at everything and this victory gave whole country boost of confidence that they are better then soviets, and that is why it is number 1, i am not saying that the other people on this list wasnt inspirational, just that, that hockey game was not just a grate hockey victory it was a victory for freedom.
Yeah, I'm spreading lies that Armstrong is doped and you're clearly deaf, dumb, blind and stupid. Please just answer how Lance can be 8 minutes better than everyone who was doping, admit to it before a cancer surgery, then actually have people feel sorry for him. No one cries for Lyle Alzado and they're the same person. Heavy drug use led to illness, plain and fucking simple.
Yeah, Lance Armstrong is clean and Jennifer Lopez is still Jenny From the Block. Everyone who came in 2nd or 3rd behind Lance was doping. Everyone. And here he is winning by 8 minutes. Come on...wake up. What do your eyes tell you? If a guy gets cancer at 27, odds are that he's probably done something bad to his body. In Lance's case, it was screwing with his testes by taking drugs. Now all the sudden we're supposed to feel sorry for him. Fuck that
I have no respect for fokkers that contribute to the murder of over a million innocent human being in their country's recent exploits..leave out the years of other shit..fokkem. Other guys in the video are inspirational no doubt.
Man, seriously, fuck Lance Armstrong and his self-righteous bullshit. I don't see anyone wearing Lyle Alzado bracelets because he got cancer from steroids. Yet, Armstrong gets a free pass? It's obvious he was juiced and got cancer from it. Then he comes back, juices again, and beats everyone behind him (who was juiced, FYI) by something like 7 minutes and we're supposed to say, "Wow, isn't that amazing?" His cancer was self-induced. Go to a children's hospital and meet REAL heroes.
@stilleavy i guess you didnt see the world junior hockey championships last year those are all future olympians. and, gasp! the Russians beat the Canadians in the championships
@tsp141181 Well, yeah, that's because other countries suck at sports. What, Japan winning the Women's Gold Medal in soccer? Who the fuck gives a shit about that? Greece in 2004? Come on, nothing is better than that. Sorry, I don't see how Finland beating Norway in a biathalon is the greatest uplifting moment in sports.
Although many will disagree, I think "Paving the Way" was the greatest. Jackie did not only break the barrier of racial discrimination, but he changed how baseball was. No, all sports were. Without that man, who knows how long it would have taken for sports to branch out to all men. Thank you Jackie Robinson.
and no lance is being considered one of the biggest steroid users in sports histoy. Riders actually said he was a dealer dealing it to the younger riders. SUCH A SHAME.
Also. Isn't it weird that Americans are only good at sports that are only played professionally in their country (baseball, AMERICAN football, basketball) but are very average at sports that a large community of countries play? (football, rugby, cricket, etc)
today i had a basketball and we were playing this really good team an i said aw were gonna get cream then my said hey wat do think USA said when they played SOVIET UNION

Wow! Tillman third?! really?! Fought and died for his country despite being able to enjoy a life of luxury in the NFL and he's third?! I'm not even American and still there is a problem there.

paving the way i think would be the most inspirational just because of all that hate he had to go against, and back then it was very powerful.

Considering that this show was on an American Sports channel, why is it so surprising that they are all American sports. I am sure that if I watched a show like this in Europe, it would all be European sports.

pakalika1256 1 month ago
@deadlyharborseal The title is incorrect, it should say "Top 5 Inspirational Sports moments" so that narrows it to sports only. The list is incomplete so if you find a way to look at the full list mabey you'll find some on other countries. The show is always produced in the United states so viewers naturally want to see U.S Moments. The same goes for other countries, they show moments about their history.

@deadlyharborseal

Was I going around complaining that all they had on TV was stuff about Uzbekistan?

number 1: can someone explain to me what did he mean by pros vs college?
ShoMePussy 2 months ago
@ShoMePussy Back then Olympic rules stated that professional ice hockey players couldn't compete in the Olympics. The US team had to recruit college players while the USSR cheated their pro players into the Olympics. Some of the greatest hockey players of all time played on that team, tretiak, petrov and fetisov to name a few.

how is miracle on ice number 1 i know it was a massive upset and all but tillman risked his life for his country armstrong overcame cancer and won 7 tours they have to be more inspirational
TheBigjoe6 2 months ago 22
@TheBigjoe6 It was exactly what they said... the Cold War on a hockey rink. It wasn't just an upset, there were nuclear threats, tensions were the highest they'd ever been between America and Russia, communism was raging through the Far East... this was a victory for the entire country, not just the men that laced up skates.
Absolute respect to Pat Tillman though, you will forever be in my heart. What a guy.
DQ441 2 months ago
@DQ441 good point i see where your coming from
TheBigjoe6 2 months ago
@TheBigjoe6 It was more than an upset. It was the equivalent of a low ranking Division 1 team beating a Pro team. Helps that it was during the Cold War, giving Americans hope that nothing is too steep. Just overall triumph through work and sweat, tears and blood. Plus it was the Russians, and that puts it in a special place in our hearts

@TheBigjoe6 You have to understand who we beat we beat the soviet union in the Olympics for hockey a sport at which they ruled in at the time and we came out with a victory when everyone doubted it and said it would not happen
musicaddict22100 2 months ago
@TheBigjoe6 At the time, the Miracle on Ice was so meaningful because it was during the Cold War. It meant everything to the moral of an economically flopping and WW3 scared country for a team of amateurs to beat a team full of Soviet pros. I understand where you are coming from, but I doubt you took the time to consider the context of the Miracle on Ice when making your comment.

All you need to do is watch the clip it tells it all. Tillman and Armstrong are heros in my book especailly Tillman because i wear a uniform to of the armed forces. All those stories could be number one.
thehossman93 1 month ago

Heavy drug use led to illness, plain and fucking simple.
soprisrb 3 months ago
Yeah, Lance Armstrong is clean and Jennifer Lopez is still Jenny From the Block. Everyone who came in 2nd or 3rd behind Lance was doping. Everyone. And here he is winning by 8 minutes. Come on...wake up. What do your eyes tell you? If a guy gets cancer at 27, odds are that he's probably done something bad to his body. In Lance's case, it was screwing with his testes by taking drugs. Now all the sudden we're supposed to feel sorry for him. Fuck that
soprisrb 3 months ago
@soprisrb None of the doping claims have been substantiated. So you can't say he is a doper. Sorry. You are just spreading lies.
