the vid is shot in the black mountains in south wales. the exsact location can be obtained from myself and pieguy by anyone who wants to go and fly there. we will pick the best possible day, take you up there and show you how to do it and be as safe as possible. you must be competent at flying, preferbly supply your own kit and have insurance.

what is the difference between 4 line handles and 4 line control bar? I read that there is more control with the handles but i see a lot of riders using the bar. and whats a good start kite i like the Flexifoil Sting and Flexifoil Rage.

In my opinion, Handles are alot better to use, especially if your a begginger :) You have ALOT more control over the kite and you can alot depower the kite more effectivly ;) I learnt on Handles and i never regreted it :)

These kites are de-power foils, you won't ever be using those with a handles, and they are far more controllable than any fixed bridle kite with handles.

Its a completely different animal to a four line handle kite. The bar slides along the centre lines and that controls the amount of power from the kite by altering the geometry of the kite via pulleys at the kite end, this isn't your "four line kite with handles". And you can't "depower" a four line kite with handles you can only the brake.

I learnt on handles too, but once you go depower, there is no going back!! I still have loads of fun with my 7m Ozone Haka which is a beast of a kite....

oh and yes, the depower foil has a brake as well, so in short its got "throttle", brake and steer, as well as a trimmer to adjust the over power range for different wind conditions. 

In short, depower foils with a bar is the ultimate in kiting for this type of thing, watch this video watch?v=BAQBriktLg8 at 22 seconds in the bar is pulled in to get the power from the kite and the flyer is lifted off the ground....
