WTF?? WTF?? OMG!! Sparky--I've been an electronic tech and electrical repair person all my working life since 1970! I'm now shock proof by the sh*t I've seen that should have burned down a house and killed an entire family! Thank goodness God is watching over us!!!!!!!!!! There could be no other explanation! (:>)
@sparkyUonline Especially on THAT device! That looks like a Cooper, which they sell at Lowe's. It has true backwire clamps which make wiring very easy; there is NO reason to use the backstab holes.
I was working in a three phase panel one time and saw what I thought was black wires going to the neutral bar. After further investigation they were sharing the neutral between three phases (which is perfectly fine if done right), however all three phase wires were on A phase.......the neutral had to of had at least 45 amps on it and it was number 12 wire. The black wires I seen were originally white......it was crazy!
Hi Sparky .........2 circuits per neutral, what exactly do you mean? is it 2 hot wires coming from different breakers? then one neutral coming from the panel is ok to provide the neutral for the 2 leads?
Hi, so what cable sizes do you have over there for sockets, lighting and showers? over here in the Uk, we have 2.5mm2 T & E generally for sockets etc. 1.5mm2 or 1.0mm2 T & E for lighting. Then 6mm2 T & E for cookers or showers or depending on the size 4mm2 T & E.
There's a shitload of too many wires in that box. That could be a potential fire hazard waiting to happen. What I know from reading my electrical boodks is that when you force wires into an electrical box that's too small for the number of wires it contains, this can disturb wire connections and damage wires, leading to a fire hazard. There is no doubt in my mind that this was a violation of code.
Alot of these electricians must be old timers from back in the day when they used to tie the grounded conductors in with the ground/bond all on the same bus? No grounds is just unbelievable. I'd love to see how these guys hook up GFCI, etc.
what the hell----??? theres plenty of room in there, shit, I can still see daylight!!!!!!! dumbasses....... I have done contracting for 40 yrs. + and NOTHING surprises me anymore. people are tight and cheap and would rather live deadly since its out of sight/out of mind --spend there money on ;see me shit' instead of living correctly along with protecting their investment-not to mention- their FAMILY......!!!!!!!!!!!!! good videos fella- I am proud of you for your time of interest....
People need to figure out what is more important to them. The people that do the work should take a little more pride and responsibility in what they do.
Looks like some of the outlets that were in my house when we bought it! I'll have to see if I have some pics still for you - I'm sure you'll love them!

the term "fire-hazard" comes to mind. Looks like the switch is stabbed as well....
kyle1081 1 year ago 2
@kyle1081 I rarely use the stab feature.

That would be a pain in the ass, why can`t people just do it right the first time?! Take a little time and plan your job out.

@jerrymen007 That would be from separate phases. 1 ckt from A phase and 1-ckt from the B phase

Holy crap! in a box of that size there should be no more than 4 wires plus the grounds. How does the switch even fit in there?
