i am thinking about putting a v8 in my 1990 ford ranger, blacking out the windows lowering it some, and chaning the bed on it and putting 8inch wide wheels on it.. dont know yet though lol

@MADFORCE32 @bottzxI32 Actually you are both wrong. No, Tacoma's never came from the factory with v8's, only Tundras. Also, Dodge has been stuffing v8's into Dakota's since the late 80's.

ya man you want to go with the 302. its a stonger built motor than the new stuff. the 302 have always been bullet proof you wont be disapointed. you can realy beat the hell out of them.and as for the tranny you just have to drill 4 holes in the frame and move the cross member back.

It just came together. the 302 fits right in. You will have to dent the firewall about 2 inches wich is no big deal you cant see it. That is so the tranny will fit in,

dude it is totaly worth doing. there is not alot of mods at all . i would almost say no mods realy . motor mounts, dent the firewall for tranny, acouple of plates under the mounts to tru up the level of the motor. you would be surprised how easy it just slips in. the truck was made for this motor. ford just wouldnt put it in the truck cause it is unsafe for the road. (according to them) do it man you wont be disapointed.

Oh, some other bits of info that would help. It's packing a holley 900cfm 4 barrel on top of a Edelbrock victor intake with a lunati voodoo 0.58 lift cam. All those in mind would the noise be too much. Haha sorry, I'm throwing all this stuff at you lol. Just wondering if maybe you would know.

How is the drone? I have a 73 F100 and I'm considering these. How do you think drone would be with dumps about 3 feet in front of the rear axle. This truck is old so there is next to none when it comes to sound insulation.

@paulerbear119 ok i just have stock manifolds. two and a half inch pipes 1 super 40 muffler with two in two out. dude if i were you i would really consider this super 40 it has the low rumble and when you excellerate it is a smooth loud ballsy sound. i love it . they sound better after you run them a while. they will almost sound quiet at first till they burn off.

@dsmith34057 haha sweet, does it have a cat??? my truck im putting headers on, it doesnt have a cat cuz its a 78, and im thinking 2-1/2'' pipes, and it will be duals. i might even do 2'' pipes, depends on how loud its gonna be. my lil town HATES noise. a friend got a ticket on his sport bike cuz it was 2 loud O.o

@dsmith34057 You right, for some reasens all Flowmaster mufflers I have ever had had to have a break in time before they sounded best. After a week or two (or around 500 miles) they start to wake up and after about 3 weeks to a month (or close to 800 miles) is when they 'break in' you could say.

it doesnt have headers yet because i have the p heads. the headers are 800 dollars from torque monster headers. i havnt found a set of headers that will fit the p heads other than custom from that website. they are suposed to add 30 more horse power.
