Yap. Cause, you know, at least Japanese don't have such a hard-to-learn pronunciation -the Chinese pinyin. Besides, Japanese uses quite a lot of Chinese ideograms -those we call "hanzi" in Chinese, "kanji" in Japanese. This is why I myself, as a student of Chinese, can sometimes understand some words in Japanese. I catch the meaning, though I cannot read it or spell it. :)

Hahaha I'm a Chinese living in Singapore, and I've been studying Chinese all my life. I find Chinese quite alright tho - just can be a little tricky here and there. But I find Japanese so hard! They're so many words to remember!

Shi can also mean death and is hence an unlucky number and avoided. Just use yon and u'll do fine :P

Yes, there are 2 ways to say it but depends on the situation. Smaller no u say Shi & in terms of the no 20 & above we say yonju (from what I have learned)
