Cheers was the best sitcom I have ever watched over the telly. I could relate to this wonderful sitcom and I loved all the characters in it. I was left devastated when it was all over and to this day, I always think of everyone of them. God bless them all for bringing cheers into my life.
Great guy, great show! when i watch cheers, especially the early shows, always makes me wish i was a kid again watch in it with my mum n dad on a friday night on channel 4! Great times!!
Thanks for uploading this. This version with the fade at the end and no laughter is very touching-Coach was and still is my favorite Cheers character, when Nicholas Colasanto passed away the show lost its warmest funniest character and a little bit of heart.
Coach definitely the best character ever on the show he was funny and very easy to like I wish he could have been around till the end. It was never the same having that opening scene without him in it
Acctually when this episode was filmed Nicolas Collasanto was already dead. This scene was leftover that was cut from one previous episodes. You can see that Carla isn't pregnant although she was (as was Rhea Perlman in reality) at that point of series. That is explanation why Coach doesn't appear in the rest of the episode
@mirtom82 Yeah I've read about that, and they made excuses for his absence in the bar in the few episodes prior to this one, like that he was at a family reunion, and that he went to vermont to get his driver's license renewed. They moved about the footage of Nicholas that they had left and this ended up being the final scene that was aired with him in it, although it was not necessarily the final scene that he filmed before dying
@mirtom82 You are correct. This was a unaired scene from another Cheers episode with Nicholas Colasanto. While he was still alive. Before his death in early 1985. But I thought it was stupid? For the producers of Cheers. To do that. But on the other hand? They was paying tribute to they're pal Nick Colasanto. He was a great guy. He died. Too young. I wish? He was in better health. And see? How Cheers would've turned out with him still in it. With the new added characters. He is greatly missed.
@Scott1589 I've been watching Cheers from season 1 and I'm now not long after Coach died and Woody started working at the bar, but I had read about Coach's final scene and I knew that this was it when I saw it, heartbreaking that he died so young
Funniest character in tv history

RIP COACH

Ah Coach
When he died the show was never the same
People dont realize its Coach who made this show What it WAS
He was the best character
Without him Diane went Insane Annoyance Mode in Season 4 and 5
There was actually genuine touching moments when he was on the show(not the fake drama shit of Sam and Diane having a fight)
Like for example when that women dumped him when she became rich and he still thought she would come back and lots of other things
And they replace him with Woody UGHH!

My favorite episode with Coach was the one where his best friend died and Sam has to break it to him that the guy slept with his wife.

@mohinderbauer Mine was the one when he gets engaged to that woman and that woman becomes rich and dumps him
But he still believes she will come back that was so touching
Then at the final moment when the telephone ringed he said to not answer it cuz he knew it was her
And Sam and Diane let him believe that
That was heartwarming
