There is absolutely no contemporary documentation that corroborates any of the alleged events that are claimed to have occurred in the NT. The people of the ancient world during the period in which jesus is supposed to have worked were very literate people who were careful to document the history and events of their times, yet they missed all of the miracles jesus is claimed to have performed. The NT, then, is completely unsubstantiated and it is, for all practical purposes, a work of fiction.

When I say God bless America, I don't mean it as if we are above the rest of the world, because we aren't. I believe that The Lord loves all, and God blesses the WORLD. I also believe that when people say God bless America, they say it because they are proud of their country (or wherever/whatever) and they just wish that God will bless it and love it as much as they do. The people of the ancient world during the period in which jesus is supposed to have worked were very literate people who were careful to document the history and events of their times, yet they missed all of the miracles jesus is claimed to have performed. Peter's argument is that there is no difference whether a promise is near (one day in the future) or far (a thousand years in the future). God does keep His promise for He is faithful, and what God has said will come to pass in the time that has been promised for its fulfillment. God has never been late, nor will He be late.
