If anyone notices the brown 1971 Ford Galaxie 500 and the green 1972 Ford Galaxie 500 are the cars used in the classic cop show "The Streets Of San Francisco".
@frankd1965 MF and SOSF (at least in it's first season) wwere produced by Warner Bros. so it would've made sense to them to re-use the vehicles they had in their stable. MF was filmed in the spring of 1973 while SOSF was on filming break
Growing up in London in the 70's, they always showed flicks with Clint, Bronson and McQueen. My fav tough guys. Later on I got into Mitchum and Marvin. I still say pound for pound, Bronson is the baddest. And I absolutely adore CLint. As people, perhaps he and Steve were quite not the best of folk.
I wish I could visit 70s

"You're on loan to Stakeout, Callahan."
"That's RIGHT, Lieutenant. You saw to that."
"I've got nothing personal against you, Callahan, but we can't have the public crying 'police brutality' every time you go out onto the street."
"Well you might just need me on a job like this."

These days you couldn't make a movie with 1% of the cool on display in this scene. Hell you couldn't even pitch the screenplay!
