To się dopiero nazywa bezpieczeństwo, nikt nie ma wstępu na torowisko. Ciekawi mnie tylko jak sobie radzą osoby kierujące Metrem z tym dopasowaniem drzwi wagonowych do drzwi stacyjnych.
the platform doors are to stop "jumpers" - people throwing themselves under trains is a daily occurance in toyko. New stations have them fitted, but it's still only about 1% of all stations meaning it doesn't really make much difference yet.
@xrenube Not if you consider how crowded the Tokyo subway sometimes is. The crowd is so dense that one or another person can easily be accidentally pushed under the train without anybody noticing it. The blockade is thought to avoid it by hindering everyone from approaching the train before it has stopped and controlling the crowd flow when it has.
There is at least one station on the London Underground with a door system just like this. I think that all stations should have it though, it's much safer in rush hour. Unfortunatly I think most of London's platforms are too narrow to fit the doors.
you should have filmed this at 8am when the trains on namboku line are fully packed and people have to push the others to get in. that's the reason why i go to work after 6am haha.
Yeah we have that in Bangkok subway as well. But it is not just for safety, but rather to contain the station's air conditioning environement as it is always 30+ C thoughout the year over here!
I was not saying that my country had better transports I just said we have something similar. It's not my fault if my country is the most visited country of the planet earth the most popular destination for turism and the number one exporter of trains. I just can't help it. ^__^ Btw I hope one day all lines will like this one that system is safe and should become the standard.

Tokyo has much better transport system than Paris. Paris is just like shit city.
Tokyo,London,NY are the only best cities in the world.

Also, platform doors increase safety to allow for one-man operation of trains. Bad news for Sha-Sho-san (Conductor/Guard)!
kent380 4 years ago
Smart to have those doors there. I bet the suicide temps are non existence.
ShutterBug717 4 years ago
These doors are for the blind men.
menace82 3 years ago
And for suicide prevention. They also work well if the station is packed- they make sure that no one call fall on the rails.
It's a beautiful system that should be used all over the world IMHO.
AmersfoortTristan 3 years ago 3
What if both doors shut, and your caught in the middle. Then when the train takes off, your stuck on the rails! Negative effect!!
Luky1Jay 3 years ago
Only one (or two) such event has been noted.
It happened somewhere in China where a man was crushed to death.
But the system seems to be quite safe untill now.
AmersfoortTristan 3 years ago
it happend in london before, but the woman was just stuck briefly between the train and the platform, she wasnt injured
broxboy86 2 years ago
But I'm sure that they have put sensors in the doors, that's normal. Just like in the elevators.
Guimaz77 2 years ago
there is an emergency button you can press when you get stuck in between and i am sure some sensors too...
