Odd guitar sound in there..kind of trying for sitar? How were you able to source this? When I visited the Motown / studio museum in Detroit a few years ago, I mentioned the Rick James/ Neil young myna birds connection and the tour guide (a gordy family member, young dude) was blown away and took me asidea the end near the Marvin Gaye couch, to get the details. I just said " look on google" I was shocked he was unaware of this in the vaults. It seemsalmost a dirty little secret.
As I've yet to get my copy of "C.M.S.", I *need* to know the technical info behind this gem...as in, Compser(s), Publisher (Most likely Jobete &/or Stone Agate) & Producer (Unless I'm wrong, R. Dean Taylor was assigned to produced them around that time, yes?)
Bet this woulda burnt up the charts had not Fate intervened so viciously towards Rick..
As good as The Mynah Birds were, just think of all the great music we would have missed out on if Rick hadn't gotten busted for going AWOL: no Buffalo Springfield, no CSNY, no Rick James and the Stone City Band. It all worked out for the best, musically speaking.
cool, I heard this one too but didn't like it at first, but then when you posted it i listed to it a couple times and now i have grown to like it :o) Thanks!
where did you dig up your copy from? I have all the songs they wrote, and it was amazing i ever got my hands on them! the other songs i think really suck tho... most of them are instrumental... did you make that record?
great song, I love Neil on back up vocals.
